Pokemon: Radical Redux-Chapter 341: Legendary Beasts attack - 2
Chapter 341 - Legendary Beasts attack - 2
Surge threw out the Pokémon he had on him. For now, the three Pokémon standing at the ready in front of him were his Electivire, his Raichu, and a Manectric with a custom-made collar.
Raikou's golden eyes locked onto them as storm clouds covered the sky. With a deafening roar that shattered nearby windows, the Legendary Pokémon launched [Aura Sphere] straight at Surge's Raichu.
"Raichu, dodge and counter with [Thunderbolt]!" Surge barked.
Raichu barely leaped aside, the [Aura Sphere] blasting into the pavement where it had stood just a second ago, sending debris flying. As it landed, Raichu's cheeks sparked wildly before unleashing a [Thunderbolt] straight at Raikou.
But Raikou just squinted at them. With a blur of motion, it moved at the speed of lightning, propelling itself to the side before the attack could connect and appearing on the ground near them.
Surge's smirk widened. "Heh, you're fast, but we ain't playing fair today! Electivire, use [Thunder Punch]! Manectric, [Snarl]!"
Electivire ran forward, slamming its fists together, while behind it, Manectric roared, sending pulses of dark energy forward.
Raikou let out a low growl, charging its claws with electricity as it rushed toward Electivire, ready to cut it down.
Electivire smirked and dropped down, ducking just as the blast from [Snarl] flew overhead, barely missing it. The attack instead slammed into Raikou, forcing it to close its eyes for a moment—and in that moment, Electivire sprang up, delivering an uppercut directly to Raikou's jaw.
Raikou staggered back, shaking its head. It glared down, preparing to retaliate with a [Shadow Ball], but before it could, Surge shouted,
"Now, Raichu! [Grass Knot]!"
Raichu leaped off Surge's shoulder, dashing forward and sliding under Raikou's legs. As it slipped beneath the massive Pokémon, green vines coiled around Raikou's front legs. When Raichu reached the other side, it yanked hard—sending Raikou crashing face-first onto the pavement.
Raikou snarled as it hit the ground, its golden mane sparking wildly as energy built up in its mouth, preparing to fire another [Aura Sphere].
But Surge was ready. "I don't think so, [Light Screen]!"
Raikou hesitated, expecting one of the three Pokémon to execute the move. If any of them attempted it, it would blast them before they could finish. But none of them made a move—yet the barrier still appeared.
Raikou noticed too late. It fired the attack, but the [Aura Sphere] collided with the unseen screen and dispersed.
From a nearby lamppost came the sound of a small squeak. A Pachirisu, crackling with blue electricity, scurried over and perched on Surge's shoulder. He smirked.
"Even a Private can help take down the enemy."
Reaching to his shirt, he pulled out a set of dog tags, gripping one that held a peculiar stone.
"Time to kick it up a notch! Ready for this?"
Manectric barked in response. The collar around its neck gleamed, a Mega Stone.
Surge pressed the stone attached to his dog tags. "Mega Evolve!"
A bright light engulfed Manectric.

Raikou growled. It wasn't going to sit idly by and let its opponent power up—this wasn't some shonen anime. It lunged forward, ready to strike mid-evolution—
But suddenly, a blast of water shot out of nowhere, slamming into Raikou and forcing it back. As the water cleared, Raikou saw the source, a washing machine. More specifically, one of Surge's Rotom in its Wash Forme, grinning smugly.
Surge snapped his fingers. More Rotom emerged, possessing other appliances, washing machines, ovens, all coming to life.
The light around Manectric faded, revealing Mega Manectric in all its glory.
"I told you," Surge said with a grin, "we ain't playing fair. You challenge a Major, you better be ready for his army."
He snapped his fingers again.
The Rotom-Wash fired [Hydro Pump], the Rotom-Heat unleashed [Flamethrower], while Raichu and Electivire shot [Thunderbolt]. Mega Manectric followed up with [Overheat].
All the attacks converged on Raikou in a devastating blast. The pier shook under the impact, cracks splintering across the surface as Raikou was sent flying, crashing straight through the hull of a nearby cargo ship.
Surge whistled, surveying the destruction.
"Damn, this is gonna be a pain to fix... And that was my favorite boat, too."
He sighed, looking at the vessel, now bearing a gaping hole from Raikou's impact.
But then he smirked. Reaching to his belt, he grabbed an empty Poké Ball and started walking toward the wreckage.
"Well... it's not all bad. At least I can claim my prize."
But as soon as he said that, a blast of electricity shot out from the ship, blasting its top apart. From within the wreckage, Raikou leaped out, landing in the center with electricity coursing through its body. It looked hurt—but still very much ready to fight.
Raikou locked eyes with Surge, as if acknowledging him. Then, with a thunderous roar, it unleashed [Discharge].
Electricity surged through the battlefield, striking all of Surge's Pokémon. Raichu and Electivire rushed in to shield their trainer, their abilities absorbing some of the electricity, but even Pokémon with Lightning Rod had limits.
Even though the attack was spread across multiple Pokémon, it was still too much. The sheer voltage overwhelmed them all. Then, BOOM!, an explosion tore through the pier.
Surge shielded his eyes from the force of the blast. When the dust settled, his eyes widened in shock.
All of his Pokémon were down.
His entire team, some of his strongest Pokémon, all at high Gym Leader level, were unconscious. Even Mega Manectric had reverted back, lying on the ground with spirals in its eyes.
Surge clicked his tongue as he surveyed the damage. His boat, already sinking from the force of the blast, tilted to one side, water rushing in through the massive hole.
"Tch... that was my favorite ship."
Raikou said nothing. It simply stared at him, its golden eyes studying him.
Surge exhaled, then grinned. "Alright, you overgrown thunder cat. You win this round." He cracked his neck and rolled his shoulder. "But if you're still looking for a fight..." He raised his fists, his grin widening.
Raikou watched him for a moment longer. Then, seemingly satisfied, it let out a final roar—and vanished in a flash of lightning.
Surge let out a breath, wiping the sweat from his forehead.
As he looked around, he saw civilians who had been watching the battle. His lieutenant, Visquez, was already on the scene, helping people evacuate and assess the damage.
Buildings were cracked. Windows shattered. Scorch marks littered the streets. And his ship? Sinking fast.
He turned to his Pokémon, who were starting to stir. Walking over, he returned each of them to their PokéBalls.
"You guys did great," he muttered. Then his expression hardened. "But all failure falls to your captain."
With one last glance at the destruction, he sighed. "Looks like I've got some work to do."

{Meanwhile, in Saffron City...}
The battle was well underway.
Entei raced across the rooftops of Saffron City, flames trailing in its wake. Close behind, Sabrina and Takurou's Alakazam pursued, though Sabrina's Alakazam had already Mega Evolved.
In the sky, Sabrina and Takurou were running, on thin air.
Their path? Constantly created by [Reflect] screens, conjured in real-time by Sabrina's Mr. Mime.
"Entei is heading toward the city center," Takurou noted, his eyes locked on the beast as it leapt from building to building.
"We need to cut it off before it does any more damage," Sabrina responded, her voice calm despite the intensity of the battle. Through their psychic link, she issued a silent command to Alakazam.
Mega Alakazam raised both hands, space warping around Entei as it attempted to seize the Legendary Pokémon with [Psychic].
But Entei didn't even flinch.
A burst of fire exploded from beneath its paws. With a single, powerful bound, it shattered the psychic hold, twisting mid-air to face its pursuers. Then, with a deep breath, it unleashed [Sacred Fire], not at them, but at the [Reflect] platforms beneath their feet.
Sabrina and Takurou barely reacted in time, teleporting away as flames swallowed their previous position, shattering the screens beneath them.
But Mr. Mime wasn't as fast.
The flames struck true, sending the Pokémon plummeting toward the ground. Sabrina, acting quickly, caught it with [Psychic], preventing a deadly fall.
They reappeared on a nearby rooftop, only to see Entei land gracefully on another building. Its crimson eyes regarded them—not with malice, but with a calm, unwavering gaze.
Takurou gritted his teeth and raised his arm. "[Psyshock]!"
Takurou's Alakazam formed glowing energy streams in the air, launching them toward Entei. But the Legendary Pokémon simply jumped.
With a single bound, it soared over the attack, landing on another rooftop. Behind it, the energy collided with the previous building, BOOM!, shattering the rooftop it had stood on mere moments ago.
Sabrina narrowed her eyes. "It's reading every move we make..."
Takurou nodded. "Looks like we need to try something different." He glanced at Sabrina. "I'll hold it back as long as I can."
Sabrina gave a curt nod, already sending a telepathic command to her Alakazam: [Future Sight].
High above the battlefield, the air shimmered as a ripple in space formed. But Entei wasn't about to wait.
With a powerful kick, it launched itself from the rooftop, its body wreathed in flames as it streaked toward them like a meteor.
Sabrina and Takurou leaped apart as Entei crashed down, shattering the rooftop they had been standing on.
Mr. Mime quickly conjured another set of [Reflect] barriers to catch them midair, but before it could reinforce its position, Entei unleashed another [Sacred Fire], incinerating the barriers and forcing them to teleport once again.
Takurou's Alakazam reappeared behind Entei, spoons crossed, eyes glowing fiercely as it fired [Psycho Cut]—sharp, pink slashes cutting through the air toward the Legendary Beast.
Entei twisted at the last second, dodging so precisely that the blades barely grazed its fur. Landing effortlessly on another rooftop, it let out a deep growl, its eyes flickering toward the sky.
That was when [Future Sight] activated.
The air above shimmered, then—BOOM! A massive force crashed down on Entei, an overwhelming wave of psychic energy hammering the rooftop beneath it. The entire building trembled from the impact, cracks snaking through the structure as debris rained down.
Entei roared, engulfed in the psychic onslaught. Smoke and dust filled the air.
Takurou shielded his eyes. "Did we—"
Before he could finish, the rubble erupted in a fiery explosion.
Entei burst forward, completely unharmed.
Without breaking stride, it fired a [Flamethrower] straight at Takurou's Alakazam.
Mr. Mime threw up a [Light Screen], but the attack punched through it like it was nothing. The flames struck Alakazam dead-on, knocking it out instantly.
Takurou clenched his fists, reaching for another Poké Ball, but before he could throw it, Sabrina raised a hand to stop him.
"Leave the rest to me. You're too weak to help." There was no insult in her tone, just a cold, analytical fact.
She sent another silent command to her Mega Alakazam. Its five spoons glowed in unison as it cast [Gravity] over the battlefield.
A massive dome of invisible force enveloped the area.
Entei, mid-leap to another building, suddenly crashed downward, its paws striking the rooftop harder than expected. It let out a snarl as it fought against the intensified gravitational pull.
Then the second [Future Sight] activated.
Because Sabrina hadn't just used one.
She had commanded many.
Ripples of psychic energy formed around Entei—twenty in total. Sure-hit attacks, all primed to strike.
And with Gravity holding Entei in place, escape was impossible.
Mr. Mime, using the last of its energy, raised its hands. More [Reflect] barriers formed—not to block attacks, but to shape them.
The barriers condensed the [Future Sight] blasts, amplifying their power like the barrel of a gun.
Sabrina clenched her hands together.
"Let's see you walk away from this, [Astral Arsenal]!"
The energy bullets fired one after another.
One. Two. Ten. Twenty. A relentless barrage of psychic devastation rained down on Entei.
The battle had already moved to an under-construction district, ensuring no civilians were caught in the crossfire—a good thing, because the sheer force of the combined attacks caused the entire building beneath Entei to collapse in on itself.
A thunderous explosion of dust and debris filled the air.
Finally, the attacks ceased.
Mr. Mime and Alakazam both collapsed, utterly drained. Alakazam even reverted out of its Mega form, completely spent.
Takurou let out a low whistle, staring at the destruction. "Think you went a little too far?"
"No," Sabrina replied simply. "Anything less wouldn't have worked."
"Guess you're right," he muttered. Then he smirked. "Still, let's wrap this up before your mom kills us for missing dinner. Think she'll buy the 'Entei attack' excuse?"
Sabrina ignored him, raising her hand as an empty Poké Ball floated beside her.
Just as she was about to throw it, The rubble erupted as a pillar of flame shot into the sky like a volcanic explosion.
From the wreckage, Entei emerged, Unimpressed.
Sabrina and Takurou stood frozen, eyes wide in disbelief.
Entei met their gaze, then let out a disappointed bark, without another word, it leaped away, clearing the city in a single bound, vanishing into the distance.
Leaving them standing there, stunned.

{Meanwhile with the Gang}
It had been a few days since they hit the road again after the whole incident with Sam and Celebi. The Iron-Masked Marauder had been personally handed over to the authorities, though, strangely, he seemed almost eager to get away from them. I wonder why~
The following day had been quiet. They trained their Pokémon as usual, but it took time for everyone to shake off the lingering tension of their last adventure. Even Politoed's new friendship dance could only do so much.
Speaking of Politoed, once she showed off her dance, Crocalor and Croconaw immediately became friends, all three of them happily dancing together to Crocalor's singing.
Meanwhile, since the two Larvitar brothers had evolved into Pupitar, and Dragonair, taking her self-appointed role as their big sister seriously, took them under her wing. Along with Ash's Aerodactyl, she was determined to teach them important things.
—-
Dragonair stood before the group, a tiny whiteboard propped up beside her. Holding a stick in her tail, she pointed at the board with great authority.
"[Alright, don't worry! Big Sis is here to teach you what really matters! Getting stronger is important for Papa... but there's something even more important!]"
With a dramatic flourish, she ripped off the top page, revealing a crude drawing of Meganium. Her tail smacked the board, emphasizing her next words.
"[This is our Number One Enemy. We cannot let her win.]"
Brock's Pupitar tilted his head. "[But... why? I kinda liked Big Sis Meganium,]" he said nervously.
"[Yeah, she was nice! She carried us around with her vines and spun us super fast!]" Ash's Pupitar added, much more confident than his brother. If he had arms, he'd probably be crossing them.
Aerodactyl, meanwhile, was just playing with a rock, clearly uninterested in the discussion.
Dragonair's eyes narrowed as she shook her head vehemently. "[No, don't fall for her trap! She's the most dangerous of them all! Do you know what she's trying to do? She's trying to steal all of Papa's love for herself!]"
Brock's Pupitar stiffened. "[W-what?!]" He and his brother may have different trainers, but since Ash had his sibling, he saw Ash and Brock as his Buddy Daddies. The idea of love being stolen was terrifying.
Dragonair nodded sagely, tapping her pointer against the board again. "[That's right! She acts all sweet and caring, but in reality, she's hoarding Papa's attention! If we let our guard down, she'll take all the head pats, all the belly rubs, all the 'Who's a good girl's... and we'll be left with nothing!]"
Brock's Pupitar trembled. "[N-Nothing?]"
Dragonair's expression turned deadly serious. "[Exactly! That's why we have to be stronger, faster, cuter than her! We have to prove we deserve Papa's love the most! That way, she won't be able to take it from us!]"
Ash's Pupitar hesitated. "[But... Papa has enough love for all of us, right? He always plays with us and tells us we're good, even when we mess up. He loves everyone.]"
Dragonair faltered for a split second, her tail flicking anxiously. "[Th-that's what she wants you to think,]" she countered quickly. "[But have you seen how much time she spends with him? Always there, always smiling, always rubbing up against him? She's a love thief! If we don't act now, she wins!]"
At that moment, Aerodactyl, who had been rolling his rock between his claws, finally spoke up. "[So... what's the plan?]"
Dragonair smirked. She knew she could count on him.
With another dramatic flourish, she pulled off a new page from her notepad, revealing an exaggerated drawing of Meganium with teary eyes and a big red 'X' over her face.
"[Simple,]" she declared. "[We're going to outshine her! We'll become so strong, so impressive, that Papa won't need her anymore! And then—]"
She raised her head high, eyes gleaming.
"[—we'll have all of Papa's love to ourselves!]"
Brock's Pupitar still looked a little unsure, but Ash's Pupitar was already nodding along. Aerodactyl, at last, seemed intrigued.
—-
Anyway that conversation happened when Ash was training his other Pokemon, so he didn't know what they talked about, but they all seemed to be closer so he didn't question it.
But after a few days, they finally arrived in Olivine City. As they stepped into the city, on the other side of town, a certain airship docked at the port, and neither group knew the other was there.
However, as soon as they took their first steps into the city, something happened.
In a nearby Team Rocket base, where they were conducting experiments on Magikarp, Carl and Sham walked into the lab as Professor Sebastian looked at them and smiled.
"The final prototype is complete," he announced.
Carl nodded as Sham walked up to it. "And this will work as a distraction as well?"
Sebastian smirked. "Yes. The prototypes were more restrained, but as per your request, I removed all such limits. You'll be able to hear this all across Johto."
Carl nodded. "So, have you prepared the experimental Magikarp?"
"They're already in the nearby Lake of Rage. All you have to do is press the button. It will force their evolution and give you the distraction you need to start your plan in Olivine City," Sebastian said confidently.
Of course, all of this was under the Masked Man's orders, Giovanni knew nothing about it. Sebastian didn't care who he worked for; all he cared about was who paid him more, and right now, the Masked Man was signing his checks.
Carl smiled as he put on his mask, and Sham did the same. "Then let the carnival of terror begin," he said, pressing the button and activating the machine.
