Possessed No More: The True Star Returns to Claim Her Throne-Chapter 54: Milk Tea
But to his surprise, Riley Perry didn’t even bat an eye and started pulling him away. "Let’s go, let’s go. I’m a little thirsty. Let’s get some milk tea!"
It wasn’t like she was some sheltered country bumpkin. This was just ordinary jewelry. Any single piece from her own collection could be auctioned off for a sky-high price!
The two returned to the underground parking garage and put all the shopping bags, big and small, into the car. Then, they walked hand in hand to a milk tea shop to get in line. It was already eleven o’clock, and the shop was crowded. Even though they were both wearing masks, they still attracted a lot of attention.
Cole Sinclair was nearly 1.9 meters tall. Riley Perry, at a net height of 172 cm, was considered tall for a girl, and just under 180 cm in heels. Standing together, they were like cranes among chickens—it was impossible for them not to be noticed.
After standing in line for only a short while, Riley Perry started whining coquettishly. "My legs are so sore. We’ve been walking for so long today. What am I going to do? I can barely stand."
Cole Sinclair remained silent. ’Didn’t she say she wanted milk tea?’ he thought. ’We can’t just not buy it, can we?’
Riley Perry poked his rock-hard chest with her finger again. "Mr. Sinclair, aren’t you tired at all?" 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
Cole Sinclair used his free hand to grasp her fidgeting one. "When we get back to the hotel, I’ll find a massage therapist to give you a good massage."
The fifth and sixth floors of the hotel housed a wellness center, offering everything from aromatherapy spas and beauty treatments to wellness massages.
Riley Perry burst out laughing. "Hahaha, my dear Mr. Sinclair, you’re so adorable."
Cole Sinclair subconsciously felt that he had probably said the wrong thing, but he didn’t know what it was.
"How about I arrange for a personal massage therapist for you?"
’No matter what mistake I’ve made,’ he thought, ’throwing money at the problem can’t be wrong!’
Riley Perry: "...Who said anything about wanting a massage therapist?"
Although they had lowered their voices, the people in line in front of them still overheard.
The young couple in front really wanted to laugh. The girl couldn’t help but turn around and remind him with a smile, "Has it ever occurred to you that your girlfriend might just want you to hug her and comfort her?"
Cole Sinclair: ...
Fortunately, it was soon their turn to order. Riley Perry got a Mango Sago and a strawberry sundae, then paid and dragged Cole Sinclair out of the milk tea shop.
"Didn’t you want milk tea? Why are you clinging to a strawberry sundae and not letting go?"
And was this cup in his hand even milk tea?
’I’ve never had this before, so don’t even try to fool me!’
Riley Perry quickly pulled down her mask, dug out a spoonful, and popped it into her mouth. Then she pulled down Cole Sinclair’s mask and stuffed a spoonful into his. "So? Is it good?"
It was Cole Sinclair’s first time eating this kind of cold dessert. The taste was alright. After all, he didn’t dislike strawberries, and on a hot day, something cool wasn’t bad.
"Mm."
"I knew you’d like it! Now, try this."
Riley Perry immediately brought the straw of the Mango Sago to Cole Sinclair’s lips, motioning for him to try it.
Cole Sinclair was confused. They stood on the side of the street, ignoring the pedestrians coming and going. "If you knew I’d like it, why didn’t you just order two?"
"You’re really no fun. It’s precisely because I knew you’d like it that I only ordered one."
Riley Perry pushed the straw toward Cole Sinclair’s lips again. After he took a sip, she quickly took a big gulp herself. "Wow, delicious!"
Cole Sinclair was still a little lost. ’If you like it, just order two. Why do it like this? Sharing a spoon, sharing a straw... don’t people find that uncomfortable?’
"It’s already noon. What do you want to eat?"
Riley Perry raised an eyebrow. "Let’s go get skewers! I haven’t had them in ages!"
Cole Sinclair: ...’What on earth are skewers?’
Following behind them, Samson Sinclair and Spencer Sinclair watched in utter bewilderment as their young master was dragged by Riley Perry into a roadside skewer shop.
They had been by the young master’s side since childhood. The Sinclair Family’s status meant his upbringing was destined to be different from that of ordinary people.
The education he received and the life he enjoyed were all elite. The madam never allowed him to eat junk food, so he had truly never once set foot in places like the milk tea shop or the skewer shop Miss Perry had taken him to.
It was as if Miss Perry had dragged the young master down to the mortal realm.
"Is this stuff actually good?" Watching Riley Perry pile a large plate high with all kinds of skewers, Cole Sinclair asked a question that came from the depths of his soul.
Riley Perry nodded, laughing to herself. ’His formal suit looks so out of place in this little shop.’ But that was fine; she would soon make him fit right in.
"Come on, let’s start with this. We can always get more when we run out."
The two found an empty table and sat down. Riley Perry put the skewers from the plate into the hot pot, then prepared dipping sauces for them both. "Can you handle spicy food?"
"A little." Cole Sinclair’s eyes were still trying to identify the colorful ingredients in all the small bowls. ’So many bowls for sauces... what on earth is in them?’
Still, the things in the pot smelled surprisingly good. His gaze swept across the room. Good, Samson and Spencer had followed them in. Just like him, those two had no idea how to eat this stuff and were currently mimicking Riley Perry’s every move like a pair of copycats, picking out skewers.
Riley Perry mischievously added an extra spoonful of chili oil to Cole Sinclair’s bowl. ’What’s the point of eating skewers if they aren’t spicy?’
Seeing that the food in the pot was cooked, Riley Perry picked out a skewer of tripe and put it in her own bowl. She didn’t forget to address President Sinclair. "Go on, eat! Grab whatever you like. Or do you need to greet them before you can start?"
Cole Sinclair: "Greet who?"
"You look like you’re about to close a multi-billion-dollar deal. Can’t you relax a little?"
They had been sitting opposite each other, but Riley Perry simply moved over to his side. She reached out, helped him take off his suit jacket, and draped it over the chair. Then she unbuttoned the top two buttons of his shirt, pulled a few skewers from the pot, and used her chopsticks to slide the food off the sticks and into his dipping bowl. "Try it. See if it’s good."
After doing all that, Riley Perry returned to her own seat.
Resigned to his fate, Cole Sinclair picked up a piece of cauliflower and put it in his mouth. He couldn’t taste much of anything else, but he definitely tasted the spice.
His meals were normally prepared by a personal chef, and his palate was accustomed to lighter flavors, so it was perfectly normal for him not to be used to spicy food.
He looked up at the mischievously grinning girl across from him, suppressed the urge to ask for cold water, and continued to eat.
He quickly adapted to the spice and began to discover the joy of eating skewers. "What’s this yellow thing?"
Riley Perry was surprised he could handle it so well. She couldn’t resist teasing him. "That’s beef aorta. It’s good for your blood and promotes growth. If you eat more, maybe Mr. Sinclair can grow even taller!"
Cole Sinclair looked up, pursing his slightly reddened lips. For once, he decided to play along with her teasing. "Where do you think I still need to grow? Is there a part of me you’re not satisfied with?"
The restaurant was now full, and the couple’s striking looks were drawing a lot of glances. Cole Sinclair had lowered his voice to a near-whisper, which only made it sound more magnetic and full of seduction.
Riley Perry was almost seduced by him. Fortunately, her resolve was strong, and she didn’t lose her composure on the spot!
