Victoria Koenig politely greeted the three others in the car. "Hi, Jade. Mr. Ford, Riley, it’s nice to meet you. I’m Victoria Koenig."

The production team has placed some exchange cards along the route, which you can use to trade for supplies.

This leg of the show will last for five days. To complete the main mission, you must travel the entire route on your map and collect five small flags. The production team will also issue temporary missions along the way. The first team to hit all the checkpoints and reach the finish line will receive a prize of one million.

If any of you encounter difficulties along the way, you can call for help by pressing the ’forfeit’ button on your watch. We will dispatch a rescue team immediately. Of course, that also means you’ll be replaced by another guest in the next installment of the show."

Marcus Ford straightened up. ’Anyone else might give up, but not me. This show was practically made for me, and that one million prize is mine!’

"Director, are the routes for the three teams different?"

All the cameramen switched off their cameras. They even got out of the vehicle and into a follow car.

The only staff member left in the vehicle was Director Warren. "Alright, you can start forming your teams now."

Without prize money on the line, he wouldn’t have minded carrying a weaker teammate or two; it would have made him look magnanimous. But with a prize at stake, he naturally had to pick someone who wouldn’t drag him down.

Thus, when Victoria Koenig—whom he had just spent all that time talking to—asked to team up with him, he rejected her flat out.

Roxanne Fulton tugged on Riley Perry’s arm and whispered, "How can he be like that? Wasn’t he just making a big deal about taking Victoria Koenig under his wing?"

Riley Perry let out a light chuckle. "The rumor in the industry is that Miles Ford is short on cash lately. Looks like it’s true."

Roxanne Fulton blinked a couple of times. "Are you saying he’s doing this for the one million prize?"

"Forget about him. You’d better find a partner quickly, or the person you want will get snatched up."

That reminder jolted Roxanne Fulton to her feet. "Right, right, right! I need to go snag a partner, quick!"

She quickly walked over to Silas King, but before she could speak, Ethan Shaw beat her to it with an offer. "Roxanne, want to team up with me?"

The smile on Roxanne Fulton’s face froze for a moment. "I... sorry. I wanted to ask Mr. King to be my partner. He’s my idol, and I don’t want to miss this chance."

Ethan Shaw blew a stray strand of hair from his forehead and said nonchalantly, "Sure, sure, no need to apologize. I was just asking casually. But if we get to choose teams freely again in the next installment, Roxanne, you have to give me a chance."

Roxanne Fulton smiled again, this time more genuinely. ’He’s a cocky kid, but he seems like a decent guy.’

Silas King laughed heartily. "I didn’t expect you to be a fan of mine, Roxanne. It’s truly an honor. But, aren’t you afraid these old bones of mine will hold you back?"

Roxanne Fulton said cheerfully, "Not at all! Mr. King, you exercise every day—hiking, rock climbing, even boxing. I should be more worried about holding *you* back!"

"Okay, okay, okay, then we’re a team." ’This young lady really is a fan,’ he thought. ’Someone who wasn’t wouldn’t know all those details.’

Miles Ford looked around and saw that two teams had already formed. ’I rejected Victoria Koenig, and Riley Perry looks at me like I’m her mortal enemy. The only one left to pick is Ethan Shaw. If I’d known, I would’ve gone for Silas King first. Ethan Shaw looks so weak.’

’To be honest, I don’t really think much of Miles Ford,’ Ethan Shaw thought. ’For starters, his character is a major red flag. But, he’s physically skilled, and I bet his survival skills are better than the other guests.’ So, when Miles Ford asked him to team up, he agreed.

Victoria Koenig looked over. Wow, two teams had already formed in the blink of an eye. That automatically put her on a team with Riley Perry. She scratched her head, embarrassed, and looked at Riley. "Um, well... I guess you’re stuck with me."

Riley Perry extended her hand toward her, her smile bright and radiant. "Looking forward to working with you these next few days."

In the *Go on an adventure together* live stream, the audience was baffled. Weren’t they supposed to have turned it off? The screen had indeed gone black, but how was there still audio?
