“My master’s son wants to collect some medicine and prescription that mother made for him, so he said we should meet for breakfast,”

Qin Yichen’s face darkened as he heard her words. Hadn’t he already dealt with this matter yesterday? He had hoped that when the man came, he would show his face so that he would know that his declaration at the birthday banquet hadn’t been baseless the other time.

How did everything change in one night?

“Since I’m not staying there, it won’t be polite to have him come all the way there, besides, since he wants to eat breakfast with me, I can’t possibly resist,” although her face was set in place as she answered him, her tone was entirely helpless.

He had already planned to go out and have breakfast with her this morning. As food was the only way to lure her out, he was planning to take her shopping and do many other things that couples did outside before he showed her the mining sites he had gotten for her.

With all of those plans, he felt that after today, even if the little lass wanted some more time, their relationship would advance a bit more than now where he had to kiss for more than a minute before she relented.

Who would have thought that some young master would ruin his plans before it even started?

“It’s not a big deal, besides, things like that cannot simply be looked at from a perspective of benefits. I also had some matters I was hoping to settle outside before so it is all together in one,” she explained further, her brows furrowing a little from the extra words that she had to say.

“Where are you both meeting? I’ll drop you off?” He stood up, allowing Rong Yue to see that he was fully dressed to the brim too.

Curious, she asked, “Were you also going somewhere?”

“Hmmm, I have some matters to resolve and would only get back in the afternoon, I can pick you up once you are done,”

It was difficult to go in and out here and she was planning to get a cab to the entrance and have Qin Yichen pick her up after. But if their plans were in sync, there was no need to reject so she nodded in agreement.

The both of them left the house together and Qin Yichen dropped her off at the restaurant where she was meeting Wang Lei.

One had to give him credit for understanding Rong Yue to a certain point as he had gotten a restaurant that wasn’t just about the aesthetics and was more about the taste.

However, instead of driving off after dropping her, Qin Yichen simply parked in front of the restaurant and got started on working in the car.

Rong Yue had no idea about this and only focused on locating Wang Lei as soon as she entered.

Seated at the extreme corner end of the restaurant, Wang Lei’s presence was still easy to spot as he gave off a refined scholarly energy.

Upon seeing Rong Yue, his eyes lit up brightly and he stood up hurriedly to welcome her.

“Little sister Rong, you look even better than the last time I saw you, one might think that the air in A city is even better than the one in the capital,” his tone was playful and lighthearted making one unable to find anything wrong with his words and so despite complimenting how good she looked from the last time they saw, it was still well refined and arranged.

“Brother Wang looks even better, how’s master, I had thought that he wanted to find a way to sneak here which is why I agreed to breakfast,” Rong Yue said while looking around as if expecting the old man to jump out when she wasn’t looking.

“Ah! You know him so well already, he had planned to do just that but I didn’t even let him know I was meeting you today as I don’t know if you have other plans,”

Rong Yue gave him a grateful smile as she sat down opposite where he had sat previously. She didn’t mind being around her master but one had to have the time and mental capacity to accompany him that day Ah!

He could make her go on and on about everything she had been doing just to keep a conversation going and not to mention if they talked about painting.

“How did your exam go? I heard that this year’s question was unbelievable hard as they wanted to pick only candidates that wouldn’t embarrass the country over there,”

“Hmm, it was okay,” Rong Yue answered vaguely making Wang Lei feel relieved. He had thought that Rong Yue would put too much emphasis on the competition and being unable to move forward would affect her, thus he had tried to sound her out.

Because he knew she was participating, he had kept his ears out for information the whole time. As someone that had been a remarkable student, after hearing some of the questions he had known that it had been a very difficult exam.

For someone like Rong Yue that wasn’t exactly used to the best teaching methods and resources, being able to get to that level was already impressive enough, he already felt that advancing would be difficult for her and just wanted her to not feel bad at not getting it.

But never would be have imagined that he had totally misinterpreted her answers!

The both of them talked about several different matters and he Wang Lei was even more stunned by the level of intelligence that Rong Yue had despite being in high school.

“Do you have somewhere to go after now?” He asked, casually, his eyes was the only giveaway of how much he was expecting her answer. Although he had used his grandfather’s medicine as an excuse, the real thing he wanted was to spend time with her and let them develop a relationship that was not as polite as what they shared now.

But he was also scared of ruining the relationship between them by being too obvious thus, a man like him that was usually proud and would not look at women twice now had no choice than to carefully pick his actions and words around a girl that was about six years younger than him.

One had to understand while Rong Yue was incredibly young, it was difficult to feel she was just an high school student when one stayed around her or talked to her, making them forget her real age and only feel they were talking to someone that was on the same mind pace as them.

“Yes, I need to do some shopping around the city and then go back home, I have some work I need to complete,” her answer was vague and still detailed passing across the important message that she was busy but also not saying enough to make him think she wanted company.

“Okay, I guess we can end our meeting here, if Miss Rong has some free time again, you can let me know, my brothers and grandfather are all wishing they could see you also,” he said and then signaled for the waiter.

Rong Yue nodded in agreement.

Knowing that she liked food, Wang Lei requested for takeout for the remaining dishes but she refused, after all, she still had to go around for some of the things that she needed.

The both of them parted way in front of the restaurant and Rong Yue pulled out her phone to book a cab. Now, there was only one company that provided the service and since it was still young, the waiting time for getting cabs was a lot slower than later in the future which she was already used to.

However, before the cab arrived, a familiar black maybach parked beside her.
