Cyn asked about the rest, "As for the other classifications, what did you say about them?"

The scar replied, "For now, focus on forming the energy lines. After that, focus on forming the shards. The classifications are a bit complex and will only discourage you. Look on the bright side—you can use the second phase of the scar, and that already makes you better than some of those who are classified."

Cyn tried to recall the classifications, but he did not. In fact, he could not. At that moment, his thoughts were deeply occupied with that person in the cross hall. He had not fully processed it, but knowing the classifications did not matter to him right now. At present, he had a goal.

And his goal was to form the energy lines so that scar energy could move smoothly through his body and be released through his pores. After that would come—

'Forming the shards.'

He still had a long road ahead. He would visit Miguel later before completing the procedures for leaving to the church, to ask him about a guide to the energy lines and how to form them. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦

He had found some openings in Ramon's body, but it was difficult to draw a guide to follow, especially since Ramon's body was in a pitiful state…

Cyn looked one last time at the rat inside Ramon's stomach and smiled. "Sooner or later, you'll stop pretending… and you won't find a way out of here. No one escapes from here!"

Cyn removed his white coat and moved to leave. He needed to check something… and this timing was appropriate.

When he exited the secret corridor into Xyrene's study, it was empty. No one was there.

'Good. As long as Xyrene isn't here, I need to hurry…' Cyn thought.

The scar noticed his behavior and asked, "What are you trying to find?"

Cyn smiled lightly and replied, "Some time ago, when that old man Burgvall came with xyrene and the others—before they entered here, that mummified idiot turned the room upside down. So when I quickly put everything back…

In one of Xyrene's desk drawers, I noticed a letter. It had my name on it. Perhaps Xyrene is hiding something from me."

Cyn remembered that day—before xyrene opened the door to enter with her guests—when he put everything back in place and threw Tristan out the window. In that open drawer, there was a letter bearing his name.

Cyn Jules.

He had to know its contents—what it held, and why it was in Xyrene's drawer. The Pride Scar mocked him when it noticed him searching everywhere without finding it yet. "What's wrong? Are you afraid of her? Can't you face her directly and tell her you know she's hiding something? Such a pussy."

Cyn smiled. "That's not how things are done."

The scar replied, "You tell me!"

Cyn did not respond. He opened all the drawers—nothing suspicious. Just Xyrene's notes, some papers, and items she kept there.

She must have moved it. He found nothing—not on the shelves, not anywhere. Finally, the scar decided to help him. "I don't know if this will help you, but there's an airflow and another gap—besides the secret door you use."

Cyn stared blankly, surprised, but understood. "You mean there's another secret door?!"

The Pride Scar replied, "Whatever suits you!"

Cyn hated this kind of treatment. It was clearly pointing to another secret door. Couldn't the scar just tell him directly without making him doubt its intentions?!

Cyn began searching again. Creak! Crack! He quickly moved books off the shelves, rolled the carpet aside, and shifted the furniture.

"Patterns! I must search for patterns!"

But even so… nothing. He found nothing. Everything looked normal. Was there really a secret door?

Cyn thought, 'The only unusual thing was the secret path I used to reach the lab, which means—'

'No, it's impossible for xyrene to do something that obvious!'

Cyn stepped toward one of the wall-mounted candlestick handles near the shelves. He grabbed it and, instead of pulling it to the left, pulled it forward.

Nothing happened. He pulled it to the right.

"Hmmm! Nothing!"

But when he pushed it backward—

Creeeak! One of the shelves flipped entirely, opening the door!

What surprised Cyn, however, was Xyrene's preparedness. There was no direct passage—there was another door.

"Damn it! I still need a key even after finding the secret door!"

Cyn did not know what to do. Should he tell Xyrene that he discovered another secret door unintentionally while heading to the lab? Or should he just confront her about it?

The scar suggested an idea, "Why don't you try the key you have?"

Cyn replied darkly, "There's no way!"

Creeeak!

"By hell?! It opened the door! Is Xyrene really this stupid?"

Cyn paused to think. "So that's why she never gave me the lab key! It's the same key for this secret door! No—wait… then why couldn't she make a copy? No! She couldn't. I made the key myself. She can't make a duplicate—the materials and the method… That's why she asked me about the lock back then.

This woman—Xyrene—you really know what you're doing!

You didn't ask me to make a copy because you thought I'd suspect something. Despite all your boldness and loud words, you're also afraid of confronting me!"

"Hah, let's see what's going on here then!"

But the scar interrupted his thoughts. "You'd better put everything back quickly. Two people are coming here now! Hurry."

Cyn did not know how time had passed so quickly. Perhaps he was absorbed in his search, and now he found himself in an unenviable situation.

Xyrene's voice echoed in his ears, "What the hell do you think you're doing?!"

Cyn was facing Xyrene with his back turned, buried in the pile of books he had taken off the shelves, pretending to read. He turned around with a fake smile and began acting. "Oh! Xyrene! Hello… I was looking for something in the books."

Xyrene raised an eyebrow, as if checking the truth of his words. "And what is that something?"

Cyn smiled and glanced at the person beside her—it was Astrida—as if saying, how can I tell you with her standing here?

Xyrene cast Astrida a sideways glance.

Astrida disliked the lingering distrust between her and xyrene. "Ugh, fine! But only two minutes—no more, no less!"

Astrida glanced at Cyn and turned to leave, her hips swaying left and right as she walked.

Cyn tried to lighten the mood so xyrene wouldn't suspect him. He whistled at Astrida as she left, as if admiring the way her hips moved.

Xyrene shot him a look filled with confusion and slight disgust. "Whatever you're trying to do, just stop. You look like an idiot… and don't do that again in front of me. Now, what is it—quickly!"

Cyn watched Astrida close the door behind her, leaving the two of them alone in xyrene's study.

Cyn smiled and tried to imitate his usual tone—and succeeded. He flattered Xyrene with his eyes, as if hunting her. "I'm just looking for something related to me.

"For the first time, I've started learning about something called the threat classification, shards, and energy lines. So I was trying to do a bit of research. No harm in a little studying!"

Xyrene was still unconvinced. 'Cyn? Cyn himself researching? The guy who wants information served to him on a cold plate, researching on his own? These are big news!'

Xyrene returned from her thoughts to reality, stared at Cyn, and asked, "And?"

Cyn replied, "Well, I learned that there's something like a map, and I have to follow instructions and correct directions to create my energy lines. So I was searching here, since you refuse to give me anything!"

Xyrene approached and began picking up books and putting them back on the shelves. "I already told you—my study doesn't contain this kind of knowledge. Everything here is just historical books and facts."

Cyn asked, "Then how am I supposed to find this guide for creating energy lines?!"

Xyrene smiled. "Why don't you ask your friend Miguel? He should know, since he's a scar user like you. Isn't that the easiest way? Or have you, for some reason, decided to do some external research unrelated to blood and dissection?"

Cyn knew that satisfying this woman with his answers was difficult. At least she hadn't walked in while he was closing the secret door he had just discovered—otherwise she would have lost whatever composure she had left.

Cyn stood up and began returning some books to the shelves. The door behind them opened.

Creeeak!

"All right, the two minutes are up!" Astrida entered. Both of them were holding books and placing them back on the shelves.

"Good thing I didn't interrupt you!"

She looked at Cyn. "Now it's your turn to leave!"

Cyn glanced at Astrida and smiled, still remembering that day…

'I might pay her a visit later,' Cyn thought.

The scar's voice echoed in his head. "At midnight!"

Cyn replied, "A perfect time!"
