Progenitor Vampire: I Have Many Skills!-Chapter 680: A recognizable technique
The first tile immediately caught the attention of everyone present, even those who had relatives on the other tiles and wanted to see their fights. They were naturally drawn to the first tile.
The martial arts of Dark Spring are always striking to watch and are among the most popular among spectators in this city, even though this technique belongs exclusively to members of a town on the other side of the world.
But they couldn’t help it. All of them, as lovers of physical strengthening, must admire a perfect technique that has been researched by all the most powerful people in the world because of its peculiarity of use.
Unconsciously, many began to support William. After all, he was a "familiar face."
The first attack was powerful, so everyone expected his opponent to be badly injured or, at the very least, lying at the edge of the arena. But with so much dust kicked up, it was hard to tell until the dust settled, which should happen quickly...
Inside the small cloud of dust that was slowly dispersing, William was forced to jump back more than three times when Matthew’s sword suddenly met his sword. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
"W-What?" Taken by surprise, William lost his balance and fell, rolling across the ground from the powerful impact.
This force of impact created wind, which ended up dispersing the dust that was still preventing them from seeing.
Then, Matthew fell to the ground and ran a hand across his cheek.
There was some blood there, a small wound.
The spectators and other powerful people immediately succumbed to chaos.
Richard couldn’t help but be amazed.
"Just a scratch?" he asked in shock.
"He knew the technique beforehand," said his subordinate, and Richard couldn’t help but agree.
"Damn, this kid is well prepared. Not even Juliet could do it as well as he did, even though she had fought several from the Dark Spring before."
"..."
The crowd also began to talk about it, but the two in the arena ignored all the murmurs.
Matthew was in shock.
’That martial technique is a lesser version of my Last Blade Dance,’ he thought.
He didn’t need to compare it to his skill; it was practically one of the uses of that skill that accompanied him as a last resort when he used sword techniques to fight. The way it was activated was exactly the same, and the way each blow was delivered was identical.
He recognized it instantly, but what the hell was going on?
’Why would my ability be in this guy’s hands? No, from what I heard, everyone in that city has it. Could they have created an ability inspired by mine? Or is it some unexpected evolution?’
He was so deep in thought that he almost forgot he was fighting, but he couldn’t help it. This was too important!
’I have to get information, but this guy surely doesn’t have it. Looks like I’ll have to go to that city soon,’ he thought.
His thoughts were interrupted by a frontal attack that woke him up.
His eyes flashed intensely when he saw several flashes in front of him, and his body moved quickly to dodge them, counterattacking at the same time.
’He dodged it? He was able to predict every move!’ William immediately understood how it had happened last time. This time, his attack was also ineffective, and instead, he was sent flying backwards, rolling on the ground.
Matthew didn’t want to waste any time. He ran after him and attacked him from several sides as fast as he could, until William’s body fell rolling out of the arena.
Matthew stared at him and approached.
"If you leave the arena... anyone can claim it as their own," William said, noticing that he had come up in front of him.
Although Matthew avoided causing him any real harm, he felt pain in his bones, which made it difficult for him to speak.
"If someone wants to claim it, let them. Either way, they’ll have to face me." Matthew smiled.
"What do you want?" William asked, not wanting to lift his head. "I already lost, there’s not much to say."
"I’m curious to know. Is that technique you used the famous Dark Spring Martial Arts?" he asked.
"What else could it be?"
Matthew nodded thoughtfully. Then he turned to return to the arena.
"I will visit Dark Spring soon. I hope its inhabitants are hospitable and do not hold a grudge against me for defeating their representative."
William stared at him from behind. ’There’s no way he’s a Lewis,’ he thought. ’Besides that woman, who else deserves attention in Lewis?’
But he couldn’t theorize about who this boy was either. His name is Matthew... with that name, he could only think of one legendary figure in recent years.
So legendary that the elders of his city were debating whether to erect a statue of him in the city center.
Matthew returned to the tile shortly after; as expected, no one wanted to take his place.
When he returned, bewildered cries and stunned murmurs were heard throughout the arena.
Both the elders and the young people were in shock, and one of them was Mr. Richard.
"So he knows it..." said his subordinate, quite surprised.
Richard nodded. "And not only that, he knows it well enough to beat the Chief Heir of Dark Spring. Who is this boy? Was there a hidden Lewis who was so good?" He frowned.
"Well, he’s a bastard son, and you know how big families treat that kind of relative. They ignore them and belittle them, trying to keep them from standing out, even if they have the greatest talents."
It was a disgrace that happened everywhere in this world. If you are born with talent and do not belong to the main bloodline, it is very likely that you will be ignored and that they will do everything possible to bring you down, putting someone else above you who may not be as talented as you, but who belongs to the main line.
In this case, this boy’s fate was even worse.
A bastard child means that he is the son of a high-ranking member of the Clan, with a person whose status is not worth mentioning. She could be a maid, a slave, or something worse.
Naturally, they would try to hide it. All families tend to do so, especially large families with a status to uphold.
