"RIP!" Noah Reyes suddenly tore Adele Horne's documents into pieces, flinging them over his head with force, like falling snowflakes.

Then, holding on to hope, he began to browse through those documents again.

Unbeknownst to Noah Reyes, an unexpected incident had occurred when he instructed Deon Myers to investigate all BMW owners' details.

As Deon Myers gathered details on all BMW owners, Benjamin Robinson happened to learn about it. He was investigating a conspiracy car accident case and was also collecting data from the transportation department. The news that someone was scrutinizing all BMW owners through various channels struck him as odd. His professional instincts as a criminal police officer told him something was amiss.

Thinking that his friend, Glades Horne, had a slightly stronger network than the Police Station, he confided this matter to him, hoping Glades could spare some time to check it out and uncover their motives.

After receiving his friend's call, Glades Horne's brows arched as he asked in a low voice, "You're saying someone is untraceably investigating the details of all BMW owners through various channels?"

"Yes, but my people couldn't find anything. I don't know what their purpose is. I'm worried it might be a criminal gang planning a robbery or kidnapping," Benjamin Robinson replied, his thoughts naturally turning to criminal possibilities.

"Not a single trace?" Glades's brows rose even higher.

"It's a tangled web; even after thorough investigation, we can't figure out who's behind it. Glades, I have a gut feeling that this person is extremely cunning, with counter-surveillance skills even better than ours as criminal police," Benjamin said gravely. What had started as mere curiosity now led to a dead end, making him realize how formidable the other party was and piquing his interest even more.

"Okay, I understand. I'll do my best to help you," Glades Horne responded calmly.

The two chatted casually for a bit more before ending the call.

Once Glades Horne ended the call with Benjamin Robinson, he immediately phoned Hansen Ruiz. He instructed Hansen to replace all photos in documents related to his sister, Adele Horne, with those of an unknown woman as soon as possible, while keeping Adele Horne's name. Glades had a strong intuition that Noah Reyes's people were behind this. To protect his sister, regardless of whether Noah Reyes was Billy's father or not, he had to safeguard the mother and son first. Moreover, Noah Reyes's arrogance had infuriated him. Even if Noah Reyes indeed was Billy's biological father, a meeting between father and son would require his, Glades Horne's, consent! He had said it before—he would make Noah Reyes beg him!

For Hansen Ruiz, such a task was a piece of cake.

The photos were switched now, and they could be switched back later, easily pulling the wool over everyone's eyes.

It was because of this unexpected twist, one Noah Reyes hadn't anticipated, that he was prevented from seeing Adele Horne's true face.

Deon Myers was quick to act, but Hansen Ruiz was no slower. Hansen swapped Adele's photo before Deon could obtain her information, successfully pulling off a switcheroo. Consequently, the file Deon Myers handed to Noah Reyes contained a false photo.

Noah Reyes was indeed a powerful figure, a 'mighty dragon,' but he was new to T City. The Black Emperor Group's network there couldn't compare to Valence's. It was hardly surprising, then, that Hansen Ruiz had outmaneuvered him; Noah couldn't really be blamed for that. As the saying goes, "Even a mighty dragon is no match for a local snake."

「Elsewhere.」

Noah Reyes had spent over an hour going through all the details of the BMW owners but still hadn't found the person he was seeking.

He listlessly tossed all the owners' documents into a nearby trash bin. Then, he walked to the window, pushed it open, and gazed out at the pitch-black darkness where he couldn't even see his own hand in front of his face. His heart sank to the depths.

He thought he would finally find her, but it turned out to be another fruitless effort. He was sure he had seen her, so why wasn't she in any of the documents sent to him? Could it be that she didn't live in this city and was only here for shopping? Woman, as long as you are in Syrena—no, as long as you are alive in this world—I will find you!

Noah Reyes looked at the blackness beyond the window, letting the cold wind lash against his handsome face as he made this firm vow in his heart.

He didn't know that his arrogant demeanor from the previous day had angered 'Prince Horne.' It was Prince Horne's intervention that had caused him to miss this opportunity to find Adele Horne.

Fate was certainly playing a cruel trick on him; they had already missed each other twice.

If they missed each other a third time, Noah felt he would literally spit blood from frustration.

「Weekend.」

The weather was fine. The sun broke through the thick clouds, sweeping away the chill and bringing with it the scent of approaching spring.

「Horne Family.」

Dressed in a handsome children's suit, Jimmy Horne sat next to his mother at breakfast. While eating, he suddenly turned to Julia, his dark eyes flickering for a moment before becoming unfathomably deep. He asked, "Aunt Julia, will stinky Camila come today?"

School was out for the weekend. Staying home was boring, and he felt the days were only interesting if he had someone to torment.

"Billy, Camila is like a little sister to you; you can't be so rude as to call her 'stinky Camila,'" Adele Horne said, her head starting to ache as soon as she heard her son's nickname for Camila Ruiz.

His rebelliousness reminded her a little of her own past willfulness.

Billy Horne's dark eyes flickered as he stubbornly stressed, "Mommy, I've told you before, stinky Camila is not my sister! Not my sister! She's different from me; her mommy is Auntie Rachel." He hated how adults always insisted that Camila Ruiz was his sister.

The word "sister" implied a close bond, but Camila didn't make him feel that kind of familial closeness. That's why he always resisted the idea of her being his sister.

"Billy, Auntie Rachel said you're always picking on Camila and making her cry. That's why she's not sending Camila over to play this weekend," Julia said with a faint smile, deliberately teasing Billy.

Ivan Horne, sitting between Julia and Glades Horne, simply focused on his breakfast, seemingly indifferent to whether Camila would come. He'd be happy if Camila came, but he wouldn't be sad if she didn't.

The grandmother also chuckled from the side. "She's such a nice little girl, yet whenever she's near you, she ends up all scratched up. You two are quite the pair, always either fighting or arguing."

"Well, it's stinky Camila's fault for being so annoying!" Billy Horne retorted, his dark eyes blinking as an innocent expression washed over his face.

"Well, if you don't like her, isn't it better if she doesn't come? Stop talking and eat your breakfast. Look, Ivan has almost finished," Adele said with a laugh, tapping her son lightly.

Billy Horne stopped talking and resignedly started eating his breakfast, though he was obviously distracted.

"Brother Ivan!"

A clear, sweet, and youthful voice called out.

At the sound of that voice, Billy Horne's dark eyes flashed again. He bounded away like a rabbit and stopped Camila Ruiz at the dining room door.

"Stinky Camila, who said you could come to our house again?" Billy demanded, spreading his arms and legs out wide to block her path. However, when he saw Rachel Bailey, he promptly and politely greeted her, "Good morning, Auntie Rachel."
