Raised From The Wild-Chapter 304: Shamelessness Of Jealousy
Princess Amaya looked at Marx with questioning eyes.
"Oh, I am just reminding some people that you belong to someone else." Marx’s tone was gentle but to Prince Raquim, it was a provocation.
"Princess, I’ll return to my table. I will talk to you later." The tall and handsome prince glared at Marx before turning to leave.
Marx pulled a chair for Amaya treating Prince Raquim like air.
Amaya nodded to Raquim before sitting down.
"Why would you do that?" Amaya asked.
"What did I do?" Marx asked feigning innocence.
"You are very rude to Prince Raquim." Amaya pouted.
"He is flirting with you in front of me. I want to put him in his rightful place."
Amaya did not say anymore. She started eating while studying the people on the two tables opposite them.
She was surprised to see that Fiona Chase sat together with the King and Queen of Ra-Iya. Amaya lifted her head and she met King Ralden’s pair of dark orbs. His gaze was intense and he was smiling at her meaningfully. He did not hide the desire in his eyes.
Amaya felt uncomfortable. She recognized that gaze. She saw similar ones when male animals wanted to mate. She looked down at her plate and continued eating.
A piece of fried chicken suddenly landed on her plate. Amaya looked up and met a pair of deep blue eyes. She knew that Marx did not like it when she thanked him so she smiled instead.
Amaya ate fast but did not forget to act gracefully like any princess would. After finishing her dessert and drinks, she glanced at her grandmother and noticed that she was tired and kept on yawning.
Amaya whispered something to Marx, and then she stood and headed to the table just beside theirs.
She nodded at the guests before talking to her grandma.
"Grandma, let us go back to your room so you can have a rest." Amaya bent down and whispered to the old lady trying the dessert.
Queen Lucinda was indeed tired. She didn’t know why she felt weary and dizzy the entire night.
Amaya helped her grandmother and after saying a few pleasantries, Princess Amaya led her grandmother out of the banquet hall.
King Ralden and Queen Zanzara narrowed their eyes and watched them as they left the banquet hall.
"Did Grandma take something before dinner?" Amaya asked the maid who was supporting the queen on the other side.
"She had a light snack in the afternoon. She also had tea with King Ralden and Queen Zanzara. Other than that, the Queen did not take anything else." The maid hurriedly explained.
Amaya paused. Queen Lucinda looked at her with furrowed brows.
"What time did you have tea with King Ralden and Queen Zanzara?" Amaya asked. She calculated and should be before her encounter with King Ralden in the museum.
"About two hours and a half ago. King Ralden left after speaking a few words to Queen Lucinda." The maid volunteered the information.
"I see." Amaya looked at her grandmother worriedly. She had just gotten over her sickness and her mind was being messed up again.
She tucked her grandmother and when she was sure that her grandma was fast asleep, she returned to the banquet hall to look for Marx.
Marx was talking to her Daddy Ibrahim, Uncle Sapiro, and King Ralden.
Amaya hesitated. She wanted to approach Marx but they seemed to be engaged in a serious discussion.
"Princess, care to drink?"
Prince Raquim took two wine glasses from the passing waiter and handed one to Amaya.
"Thank you." Princess Amaya murmured before taking a sip from the wine glass.
"I haven’t told you that you look gorgeous tonight. The necklace looked stunning. Is that your design?" Prince Raquim knew that Amaya had a jewelry store and that she could design not only clothes but also accessories.
Amaya answered him with a smile and he was dazzled.
"Yes, this is my design but I had inspiration from someone else’s work," Amaya said honestly. Flint Stone had made suggestions on improving her designs and when she saw the product she was very contented.
"Aya, you are back!’" Marx approached the two of them and stood beside Amaya.
The crown prince of Albania pursed his lips. ’This damn Usturian! It was not even five minutes and Marx already came rushing. How did he extricate himself from Ibarra, Sapiro, and King Ralden?’ He cursed internally.
Prince Raquim even arranged for a group of nobles to keep him busy but they were useless.
"Marx, are you busy? I want to watch the stars." Amaya spoke softly so only Marx heard it.
"Okay." Marx nodded. He pulled Amaya’s hand and led her out of the banquet hall.
"Wait!" Amaya turned around.
"We have something to do Prince Raquim. If you want my design I can do one for you." She said politely.
Marx glared at Prince Raquim before asking if she was done. When Amaya nodded, he did not waste any effort and accompanied her to the observation deck at the North Wing. The observation deck was a three-story structure, the third floor was an open deck with a few lounge chairs.
Princess Amaya sat on one of the lounge chairs. Marx sat beside her.
"Happy birthday, Dad!" Amaya whispered as she looked in the direction of the northern horizon.
In the first few weeks that she started using the internet, she looked up the constellations and learned that that the two stars that she tagged as her father and mother’s stars were the double stars Mizar and Alcor in the Big Dipper of the Ursa Major constellation.
When she was a child, she truly believed that stars were made from the souls of good people who died and her mother’s soul turned into one, but when she grew older she understood that a star was simply a massive self-luminous celestial body of gas that shines by radiation derived from its internal energy sources.
Amaya was lost in her thoughts when a loud ringtone startled her.
"I am sorry Aya, I need to take this call. I’ll be back in a few minutes." Marx stood from the lounge chair and climbed down the spiral staircase without waiting for her reply.
Amaya frowned. Why was Marx in a hurry? She took her cell phone and sent a message to Lilia. She asked her to send some snacks and drinks to the observatory.
The princess was immersed in watching the glowing stars against a backdrop of the darkness of the night. She was thinking about a new luxurious collection that would showcase the diamond’s unparalleled beauty and mastery of light. As she lay down on the lounge chair with her hands as a pillow underneath her head, she saw the view above her from a different light. She has an inspiration... the birth of a new star in the cosmos, the wonders of faraway galaxies, and the boundless energy of space.
"A penny for your thoughts, Princess!"
Amaya jolted from her reverie when she heard the familiar smooth and deep voice that was like an angel’s music.
