Chapter 33: Chapter 33: Vitality Control Arts

Fengyu’s eyes nearly popped out when he saw the row of vitality arts, a lot more than he expected.

But even more so, blood vitality art!

Wasn’t blood something only demonic arts touched?

His eyes became manic as he read the description on the first page.

The booklet was small, only containing a general summary of what the control art could do.

’Turns out, my guess was right. Blood is deeply connected with demonic arts, but this control art clearly states that medical practitioners, also called Spiritual Doctors, created special control arts that are smooth and mild, unfit for attack but suitable to control the blood.

It can allow the Spiritual Doctor to control the blood flow better, excrete impurities in the blood, or more easily inject medical power into the body.

This does seem mild...’ he could understand the words, but he felt that between the lines there was some demonic energy.

’Never mind, every profession has its own hidden techniques. Maybe doctors can learn from this vitality art how to control the people’s blood and kill them? Well, it’s too much to think about. Let’s check out the rest.’

He didn’t care too deeply about any connections to demonic arts as long as it didn’t harm him.

Reading the other arts one by one, he gained an understanding of these arts –

Each of them used a different element to approach the vitality in a person’s body.

The wood vitality art used the aspect of the inherently strong recovery of wood to inject Wood Qi into the body of people and allow the body to heal on its own.

Thunder and water were similar – using the aspects of the elements to approach vitality. Water specifically used the flow and purity to wash away any impurities and harmful substances of the body, while thunder spread lightning into the body of a person to activate malfunctioning or injured organs.

Life and death were more mystical. The life vitality art would inject Life Qi, a more subtle Qi, into the body of cultivators, injecting new life. It was like a pure energy that had to be absorbed and refined by the body, but the result would be that the body of the person would directly have a stronger vitality, as if enlarging the quantity. If the body’s vitality isn’t fully filled, then the life control art is the best to directly inject vitality.

The death vitality art was more specific. People at the brink of death will inevitably spread Death Qi from the deepest of their being. This Death Qi spreads to their whole body and poisons their organs, makes their soul decay and pushes a person to true death. The control art can inhibit this Death Qi or even directly pull it out, making recovery a lot easier.

And the last art, the True Vitality Control Art, was the most unique but also most common art.

Its ability was to directly control the vitality in a person’s body. There is no adding or recovery, no ethereal power, but a direct control.

The booklet described it as the most foundational control art, learned by every Spiritual Doctor. After all, if you don’t even have the means to move the vitality in a person’s body, then you’re only treating the body from the outside.

When injecting wood vitality, you can lead the inherent vitality of the body to not reject the foreign power, smoothing the recovery process. A control art could control the blood flow, but without inhibiting the vitality, it might be ground out by the blood control art.

Various other arts subtly attack the body, requiring the True Vitality Control Art to lead the inherent vitality in the body to accept treatment.

Fengyu looked at them, inspecting them one by one, until finally choosing the last –

’Control Arts are inherently foundational arts that open up the path to spells and techniques. Based on that, it’s best to take the most foundational art and learn the others when required.

In addition, I have a subtle feeling that my talent for vitality is best – following that is blood, wood, water and wind.

Since I have so many talents, I should try to assign one specification per talent. Medical practitioners focus mainly on vitality, so let’s use this vitality talent to enter the path of a Spiritual Doctor.

The rest... I can see for myself in the future what I do with it.’

He had a vague premonition that each of his talents would find its outlet, finally opening up the grand world to his eyes.

For now, he could start with vitality.

He went to the counter with the booklet in hand, asking to purchase it.

"I see that you have used one quota already. This will be the second.

The cost of this art is 300 spirit stones. Do you want to pay it now or later?"

"Let’s just pay it directly," Fengyu reached to his spatial bag and took out the required spirit stones.

A small pile landed in front of the counter, leading the clerk to be slightly surprised.

"You’re not using Jade Coins?"

"Jade Coins...?" Fengyu asked in some surprise.

The clerk behind the counter nodded after taking the spirit stones into a small ring attached to the counter, "Indeed, you can exchange your spirit stones for higher spirit stones or Jade Coins.

Higher spirit stones often require a premium and starting from high-grade spirit stones, they become strategic resources.

Because of that, the seniors looked all over the world and finally found a jade that can store spiritual power as well as spirit stones.

The jade is rare there are very few mines, which is why it’s not the common currency outside.

But our Spirit Beast City has found a few veins and uses it as a higher quality of currency.

Though its quality is static and it doesn’t have the gradual increase such as spirit stones –

One jade coin contains as much spiritual power as a hundred spirit stones.

If you want, you can exchange your spirit stones at the general store."

"Thank you a lot!" Fengyu thanked the clerk and then left, thinking that this method was indeed better than carrying hundreds of stones around.

His spatial bag wasn’t very large, making it difficult to even store his spirit stones...
