Re-Birth Of A Genius. Creator/Destroyer-Chapter 2462: Vitality
The gang tried to get back on their feet and looked around.
At the spot where the previous target was… there was nothing but a spray of blood. There was nothing else, innards, bones, nothing…
One of the healers was the first to react and he started healing himself. However, the more he tried to heal himself, the more the burning pain intensified.
"Argh…"
He groaned in pain. But he didn't stop.
His instincts were telling him to heal himself. They were screaming at him, telling him to close up the wound or something disastrous might happen.
But the wound did not close up.

It only burned more and the more he healed, the more his flesh corroded. But after a couple of minutes, he stopped healing and took out a potion. He drank it.
The reaction was about the same. Not as severe as the usual healing, but it burned like hell was concentrated into his wounds.
The same happened with the pills. Pretty soon, the others also discovered the situation and after a while, they managed to adapt through the pain.
"This is a curse. We need to get it resolved immediately. I can feel it. Its slowly eating up the vitality."
Once again, the healer was the first to figure some shit out.
Then, the whole team immediately went out to contact their employers. The Hephaestus academy team deployed their candidate. But they couldn't do shit about the curse.
The man looked at the group and said.
"The curse is too complex for me to break. There are some norse style techniques applied. Seems like someone with high mastery, but they seem to be of lower energy level. If you can pull through, you might be able to break the curse on your own.
However, you would be put through tremendous pain.
And most likely, you would waste a lot of your life essence.
My suggestion is that you find the people who created this and deal with them. Capture the guy who put the curse on you and find the key to remove the curse."
The one statement made them move.
.
.
.
"You are right Sam, everyone of the mercenary group was infected with the curse. They are all bandaged and are searching for us." Haziel said in surprise and delight.
The strategy was surprisingly simple and still worked.
"Now, it is time to lure them again. And this time, a little bit more information wouldn't hurt. Of course, it is going to be false information." Sam instructed with more details.
Haziel took note of them… literally on a piece of paper and went ahead to execute them to the tee.
And she did exactly that in the next hour.
The whole team made a move after the necessary information was given out.
Back at the mercenaries.
"Boss, I have a feeling that are being led on. What if they were feeding us false info? You saw what happened last time. They were prepared at the canyon.
What if this becomes the same situation?"
One of the mercenaries asked.
"You are right. There is a chance that this could become the same situation. But we don't have a choice this time. We just need to get them no matter what."
"Why don't we ask help from our employers?"
"They won't help and we can't ask them. That will diminish our value.
It comes with working with the academies. They live in a world of surplus, where they can get many people fighting or even killing to work for them. You and me on the other hand, are dependant on them.
Once we become no longer useful, they won't need us.
In fact, there might be talks going on there, about letting us go.
The only way out of that is to deal with these punks and get this curse lifted.
On top of it all, curses are a dangerous territory. Many people won't be willing to tag along with us, afraid that it would be contagious. So, don't count of any help."
"Alright boss. This is it then. All bets are off and we are going to get them."
.
.
The mercenaries travelled to the spot they were informed about. The info was that the gambler team is going to meet the person they hired.
And there was a chance that this guy was from a special mercenary group called Cursed Dealers.
They are pretty famous and they sell curses.
For the mercenaries at Hephaestus end, this smelled like an obvious trap, but they cannot shit about it. They just have to go there.
And soon, they reached the spot. Unlike the time with the eagle canyon, they didn't spot the gambler team. There was no sign of them in the surroundings. This time, the mercenary team was way too paranoid to even split up and search for them.
So, they stuck together.
One of them, who was an expert with formations was trying his best to figure out if there were any trap formations laid down.
At that moment, all of a sudden…
*SWOOSH* *SWOOSH* *SWOOSH*
A bunch of bird puppets appeared out of nowhere and they circled the sky way above the mercenaries. All of them were glowing with golden light. They appeared at the same time, in formation and that formation rained down a golden flow on the mercenaries.
It all happened in an instant.
As if all the bird puppets appeared information through a spatial transfer… and that's exactly what happened.
*URGH*
They all groaned in pain. The concentrated light energy came with more vitality and it hurt their cursed injuries.
But it wasn't much. the leader recovered and threw an attack into the air.
*SWOOSH*
Haziel jumped out of nowhere and blocked the attack. Then, they were all followed by the other members of the gambler academy team.
Everyone was engaged in the battle.
And at that moment, Sam… who was sitting far away, crushed a bunch of tokens.
*SWOOSH* *SWOOSH* *SWOOSH*
The surrounding forests… all of them full of trees that lived for centuries and herbs that could be dubbed as elixirs and most importantly, the lands that were drenched and soaked in the blood of phoenix species, known for their high vitality… all of them reacted.
All the vitality in the surroundings was driven out to one point.
To the place where the battle was happening.
