Re-Overlord: I Can Acquire Anything!-Chapter 77: The God Of His Own World
Chapter 77: The God Of His Own World
But before that, Igaris issued an important task to Rax.
"I want you to find everything you can about the Calamity House. Start from the Capital," he ordered.
"Yes, Boss!"
Without hesitation, Rax relayed the command to the hundreds of Black Dagger members scattered across Oyster Town.
The network was crude, but efficient. It wouldn’t take long.
"If there were still an internet... this would be done in seconds," Igaris thought with a faint scoff.
Unfortunately, the world had developed in different way than Earth. Although, a few devices works on basic Earth technologies.
There were only old-school communication devices for long range connectivity.
---
While the search began, Igaris turned his attention to something far more personal.
The Black Mech.
Its dark surface reflected a ghostly sheen under the dim lights of the hideout. It stood like a silent sentinel, an unblinking guardian of destruction.
Igaris approached it with uncertain steps, his heart steady, yet curious.
This was the moment of truth.
He was about to discover whether his Acquisition ability would work on Mechas or not.
His palm pressed gently against the cold metal of its leg.
Then he whispered a single word:
"Acquire."
In the blink of an eye, platinum light surged from his hand. The energy was pure, radiant, and alive.
"Buzz!"
The entire Black Mech was enveloped in the shimmering energy, as if it were being baptized by a divine force.
Arcs of energy spiraled around it, crawling over its armor, illuminating every joint, every plate, every weapon socket.
To witness it would’ve felt like watching a miracle.
But there were no eyes to see it. No voices to gasp in awe.
Only Igaris stood there, a lone man to become something new.
Probably a monster who could bend not only beasts, but also machines to his will.
In the stillness of midnight, the air was heavy with anticipation.
Then—finally—it happened.
A soft chime echoed in Igaris’ mind as the system notifications flashed before him.
[ Congratulations! You have Acquired a Weapon-Type Combat Mech (C) ]
[ Soul-Link establishment Successful ]
[ You may now assign a name, or leave it anonymous. ]
He slowly withdrew his hand from the empty air while his eyes glowing faintly with blue hue.
His eyes widened; not in fear, but in exhilaration.
This was it.
The towering Black Mech was no longer in front of him. It had vanished, drawn into his Acquisition Space like any beast or spirit he had conquered before.
It was now part of him.
He had done it.
He could Acquire Mechs.
That alone was enough to shift the balance of power. If machines could be claimed like monsters, then the very backbone of the Perfect Society’s military might could be hijacked.
And more importantly... he could now command them as his own.
An evil grin tugged at the edge of his lips.
"The Federation has machines..."
"...but I have something far more dangerous."
His eyes narrowed as he opened his interface and stared at the newly acquired data. Stats, modules, energy systems—it was all there.
And a blank field, blinking.
> [ Unit Name: __________ ]
He tapped the air lightly, considering. He enough energy to a name C-Rank Mecha.
"Let’s call you... Shadow Reaper." he finally spoke.
The name locked in, and a final notification appeared.
> [ Unit Shadow Reaper has been registered under your command.]
> [ Shadow Reaper will go through an upgrade. Estimated Time: 3 hours ]
Igaris was curious about how the upgrade process was progressing. The Black Mech was his first real mechanical acquisition, and he wanted to understand its transformation inside his mysterious space.
But he still could not fully project his senses into the Acquisition Space. It felt like there was a veil between his consciousness and the inner workings of that space.
He could command it, but not yet observe it freely.
Even so, he believed it was only a matter of time. He was the sole owner of that space, the only one whose will could shape it. That was absolute.
To reach deeper, he decided to spend the rest of the night in quiet meditation.
He crossed his legs on the cold stone floor, closed his eyes, and slowed his breath until the outside world faded into silence. He focused inward, drawing power from the core of his being, trying to expand his mind’s reach.
Above him, the luxurious hotel bustled with quiet laughter, lights, and soft music. Wealthy guests slept on velvet sheets, surrounded by comfort and warmth. He could imagine the scent of wine and perfume wafting through the polished hallways above.
And here he was, alone in a bare, dimly lit room, sitting like a monk in the shadows. His body was still, but his spirit searched endlessly, determined to uncover what lay beyond the barrier of his mind and soul.
Hours passed without movement. The only sound was the gentle rhythm of his breathing, in and out like the tide.
Then, it happened.
A sudden spark erupted in his mind, not of pain, but of clarity. As if something had clicked into place. A hidden section of his mind felt as though it had been unlocked, and a new type of awareness bloomed inside him.
He could see it now.
His senses reached into the Acquisition Space and bathed in its energy. It felt different from sight or sound. It was pure intuition, flowing through him like a second bloodstream.
He called it Soul Sense.
Using his soul as a bridge, he absorbed the entirety of his private world. What he saw left him breathless.
It was a vast, artificial land, circular in shape, roughly 150 meters in radius. The sky was a crystal blue, filled with drifting white clouds. A golden sun hung above, casting soft light across the terrain.
The land was lush and vibrant, with tall grass swaying in a gentle breeze. Sparkling rivers curved through the hills, and small clusters of trees stood like sentinels.
The air shimmered with pure energy, so dense it felt almost liquid.
This place was no mere storage space. It was a paradise. A sanctuary born from his will.
Scattered across the land stood the beings he had Acquired. His army.
Undead warriors stood in neat formation, their bones reinforced with dark metal and spiritual bindings. Fire Spirits flickered across the open fields, leaving glowing trails behind them.
Dire Wolves the size of horses patrolled the edges of the terrain with glowing eyes and sharp fangs. Massive Earth Golems, as tall as houses, stood like immovable guardians.
Among them were his named subordinates. Quirky, Iron, Serynthia, Dred, Alpha, and Malthius whose very presence was suffocating others.
They all stood near the newest arrival, watching with reverence and curiosity.
The Black Mech.
It towered over the most of them, wrapped in spiraling bands of platinum energy that hissed and shimmered. Its armor was smooth and black, but the new runes engraved on its frame pulsed with life.
Even in this dormant state, it radiated deadly power.
Igaris observed everything with a clarity that surpassed human senses. He could feel the energy flow through the land, trace the heartbeat of every creature, and understand the state of each spirit.
It was like standing above a sandbox, but this Sandbox breathed and responded to his thoughts.
In this sacred domain, he was not just a ruler.
He was a god.
Though he could not yet manipulate the terrain directly, he felt a deep connection to it. A quiet promise. That one day, this space would bend to his will completely. Trees would grow where he pointed. Rivers would flow where he wished. Armies would rise at his command.
This was just the beginning.
The power of Acquisition was no longer limited to monsters or spirits. It now included machines. And perhaps, with time, even more.
He clenched his fist slowly, feeling the hum of energy echo in his palm.
"Master, are you feeling lonely?"
