Re: Player-Chapter 300: [To where does the Fate takes us?(III)]
[Adam’s POV!]
.
"Eat it, miss. It’s on the house," the manager of the restaurant served us the plate of food, while Equi looked at the exotic dishes with sparkling eyes. She looked at the manager with great enthuthiasm before speaking,
"Can you let me have the recipes for these?"
"Sure mam. Let me note it down for you," the manager added with a smile on his face as he began writing those recipes.
Currently, we were sitting in a high-end restaurant, where each of those dishes cost more than the others. As I had asked her out for lunch during the war, she kind of took that a bit seriously… and here we were going on a date of sorts. Though, looking at her expression, I doubt there was going to be any romantic development.
It felt more like taking my younger sister out to eat something in the city. Not that I mind really, it’s not like her flat chest has any gravity of attraction towards them.
"Oi! You are thinking of something rude, aren’t you?" Equi complained before noting the recipes that the manager was telling her. Perhaps because she was a God, she was easily able to understand all those recipes pretty fast.
Turning to the side, I looked at the serene view of the sea, it felt calming. The sunset added another touch to it as I relaxed a little before looking at the food that was served for us. And with glistening eyes, Equi carefully placed the dishes on her plate, almost filling it to the brim.
I chuckled at her childish behaviour before taking a portion of the dish on my plate as well. Slowly taking a bite out of it, a blissful smile formed on my face as I savoured the flavour of the dish, before gulping it down.
"Tasty~" Equi spoke as well.
So this restaurant’s taste is fine enough to make even a God happy, huh?… is what I would have thought had I not known about her imprisonment of all those years back then.
Right now, even basic food should feel good to her, so something like this is sure to tingle her taste buds.
"What are your plans from now on?" She asked me, her eyes narrowed down to my plate. She already had twice the amount on my plate, though?
Don’t tell me the Gods’ appetite is more than a humans? Or perhaps she was gluttonous? Hmmm… interesting.
"I will be returning to Mirag Town. There are certain things that I must tend to," I answered her, to which she pondered before taking out an artifact. And then without any words, she passed it on to me.
It was the same [Chalice of Equilibrium!] except that its powers were markedly increased now. There was even a function that allowed me to borrow powers from it once every 30 days.
’I had already used it quite a number of times, enough so that I wouldn’t really be needing it anymore,’ I recalled back the things that I had bought and stored in my personal space using this. It surely is a cheat item if you know how to use it.
"I was going to observe you before but I guess, the 2nd Fate Weaver, Luciana, needs me more. It will be sometime before she recovers her power back, and as a guide it would be best for me to be with her until that time," she explained and I nodded at her.
While it would have been fun to have Equi around, I guess, going solo is better when dealing with players than to have others around me.
Plus having Luciana as an ally would be the best thing among all in the entire event that happened in this city. Though currently weak, she is still one of the most powerful Fate Weaver. With Equi, she should be able to get back to her prime pretty soon.
"That would be for the best," I nodded at her words before she continued,
"Yeah. Also, keep that artifact with you. I made some minor adjustments, and it will also help me to track you later. As for finding me, you can just think of me while holding that artifact and I will send you my location."
She kept eating her food, while I nodded at her. Though I was a bit confused. Why was she going so far for me? We haven’t even met for so long… at least she hasn’t.
But even then… I had a rough idea why.
"Don’t die, Adam. This is probably the last time I am putting my hope in someone. Make sure to live up to it," she spoke in a serious voice but the sauce at the corner of her lips and the orange juice below her nose, took it all away.
I just smiled as I nodded at her words answering,
"Don’t worry about it. I don’t think I can be killed that easily."
"Well. You still have your brothers so I doubt you will end up like the others. But still, call me if you need me for anything. Also… hmmm… meet me once before you decide to leave, okay? There is one more thing that I have to give," she added before her expression turned a bit odd. Though, when I simply nodded, she took a deep breath before a smile formed on her face.
"So. How did you meet that Vampire? He seemed pretty interesting to me," she said, changing the topic once again.
The talk soon drifted on to other small topics, and nothing major came in between. Though I didn’t mind since the majority of things that I wanted to know about her, I had already learned it in my returns. For now the most important thing was to build a connection with her.

And looking at the artifact in my hand, it seems that a connection has been already established.
"What are you looking at?" She asked curiously as she saw me smiling at her before I answered,
"Nothing really."

Taking up another bite from the food, I silently continued savouring its flavour. Things were mostly done here, so I wonder how Neptune is faring with Vladmir and Luciana.
