Re: Player-Chapter 299: [To where does the Fate takes us? (II)]
[Adam's POV!]
.
"Good bye everyone!" Harik shouted with a saddened expression while the children cried hugging this guy. Currently, he was planning to leave with Raphi, and was bidding farewell to everyone here.
Mostly done with all, there were only three left.
"Good bye, Iris," he spoke to the Sin of Lust. Both of them knew each other before they met me. And even though there were ups and downs in their relationships, they were still people who have fought side by side in a war together.
"Just go. Your wife's gaze will kill me," Iris spoke as she saw Raphi looking at her with a cold smile, that seemed anything but kind.
Harik pressed his smile before bowing politely and then moving towards Neptune. His eyes looked at Neptune with a kind gaze before he slowly got on his knees, and then put his head on the ground.
"Sir Neptune. What you have done for us. For me. It was an act of kindness that I would never forget. Never in my life, I have heard or seen someone as kind and humble as you were. This angel owes you his life, Sir. Any time you ask, I will gladly place my life on the line for you. I vow this on my Divinity."
Neptune looked at him, while I observed him from a distance, eating a bit of an apple. Neptune's eyes was as kind as I wanted him to have, before he spoke,
"Stand up, Harik. You do not have to go so far. I have only done things which I believed were right. There is no need for you to feel so indebted to me. And if you really feel that way, then please cherish your life more. As a doctor, there would be nothing more gratifying for me than that."
And all the people here looked at him with bright eyes. Even the generally irritated Iris smiled at him before she sighed and then moved away from there.
Harik slowly stood up and then bowed again before he added," yes sir! I will."
Neptune turned to Raphi and spoke," take care of this kid, will you? He is a bit emotional, so he tends to be hasty with his judgment. Otherwise he is a good kid."
Harik was probably above 200 or 300 years in age, but let's not focus on that for now.
Raphi nodded with a smile on her face before both of them bid everyone farewell for one last time. And then with tears in everyone's eyes, the two Angels levitated in the air before ascending to the heavens.
And with them gone, everyone stood still for a few seconds before Neptune turned to the kids there. A few familiar ones were at the front, and moving towards them, he guided them,
"Jasmine. Lily. No more taking people as sacrifices, okay?"
They slowly lowered their gaze as they recalled how they tried to capture Neptune and sacrifice him in exchange for the health of the children. At that time, it looked like the best choice but now.. haha… it was laughable.
"After I leave from here, you guys will need to maintain the clinic. There will be-"
Neptune was about to continue but was stopped by the shocked expression of the children.
"Sir? You are leaving!"
"No!"
"Don't leave!"
And once again the children began crying as they heard Neptune would be leaving as well. In a way, it should have been obvious given how powerful Neptune was, he was going to leave one day. But then again they were children so…
"Silence!" Jasmine shouted, making all the kids quiet. And then she turned to Neptune before she bowed," sir. Thank you for everything. We will make sure to make this clinic the best one in the entire world."
Her eyes were ambitious, and it made me smile how far they have grown up. It doesn't look like there would be any immediate problem for them… and hopefully with this, they should be able to take care of themselves as well.
Neptune talked with the kids a bit more, while I looked at Geralt standing at a distance, observing everything with a smile.
Moving towards him, I asked,
"Don't you have work to do?"

"Adam? Hmmm. I do, but I can't miss your departure, can I? I heard you were leaving today as well," he spoke with a rather melancholic look.
"Guess so," I answered as I kept observing Neptune and the kids, while the rest of the crowd slowly dispersed.
"Out there in the world, are you going to create more waves?" He asked with slight curiosity.
"If it is required," I answered vaguely. I mean, there is a pretty good chance that I will consider the players appearing soon. But then again, it's not set in stone as many things can happen in between.

"I will miss you," he spoke and I gave a knowing smile," you are going to miss Aisha more."
His cheeks turned red a bit before he nodded,"that I will."
I talked with Geralt about a few more things, before I turned to Luciana and Equi sitting at a distance from here. They seem to be talking about something, and looking at how they were the only ones that were left to talk to, I pondered how I should approach them.
And in the end, the best way was to let Neptune handle Luciana along with Vladmir, while I should have a talk with Equi.
'Once we are done with this, we might as well meet with Ignirus. He must be in a really confused state,' I thought about the son of Laplace. The one that had witnessed everything but was still unable to take even a single step in the war.
But then again… even his presence was important there. And since I have used him emotionally in a way, the least I can do is sooth him by feeding some information which he could bite on.
And with those thoughts in my mind, I pondered about what I needed to talk about and took my first step towards Equi as well.
