Rebirth: Clinging to My Possessive Magnate-Chapter 820: It Begins
It’s important enough to make the boss suddenly not come to the office.
Did the boss talk about some super impressive project?
Is the company taking on a new project, or planning to swallow another company?
This kind of thing, their boss used to do often, suddenly not coming to the office today, must be very important.
Just as Jim Perry was gearing up to tackle something big, Mason Wilson casually said, "Hmm, it’s not a big deal."
"Today, James Reed got his marriage certificate; Charles is at home with Sophie watching the live stream."
Jim Perry: "..."
"President Wilson, sorry to interrupt, I’ll be heading back now." Jim Perry calmly said, clutching his folder as he turned to leave.
I have to leave.
If I don’t leave, I’ll really lose my composure!
Oh my gosh!
Is the boss really skipping work just to watch gossip on a live stream?
Is this something a normal person would do?
Uh... normal people wouldn’t, but our boss doesn’t seem to be a normal person...
Jim Perry pressed his forehead against the cold wall, looking exhausted, surprising the passing staff who cautiously approached and asked, "President Perry, are you okay?"
"I’m fine." Jim Perry weakly waved his hand, slowly supporting himself against the wall as he returned to his office.
The staff admired Jim Perry’s weary back, instantly feeling inspired.
Look at President Perry, already holding such a high position yet still working so hard; I definitely can’t be lazy. I must work harder!
So, you see... sometimes misunderstandings are more beautiful than the truth.
——
"It’s starting, it’s starting!" Sophie Wilson happily curled up on the sofa, eating breakfast while staring at the computer.
That’s right, to conveniently watch the live stream, Charles Seymour had the nanny bring breakfast to the upstairs living room and moved the computer over to make it easier for Sophie to watch.
"Wow, there are so many people." Sophie marveled, "They’re filming right from in front of James’s house."
"Hmm." Charles nodded, his slender fingers quickly peeling an egg and bringing it to Sophie’s mouth.
Sophie lowered her head, took a bite, her eyes still fixed on the screen, not missing a single exciting shot, while Charles fed her the rest of the egg.
Sophie took a sip of milk herself, watching as James Reed drove directly to Ophelia Wilson’s hotel, the car door opened, and the especially well-dressed James got out, looking quite the elite, definitely impressive.
"So handsome." Sophie sighed, Charles’s hand paused as he was about to pick up a char siu bun, then he heard Sophie’s disdainful snort, "A wolf in sheep’s clothing!"
Charles continued picking up the char siu bun as if nothing had happened.
He split the bun open, letting it cool a bit, so it would be easier for Sophie to eat.
——
"James!" Ophelia Wilson quickly walked out of the hotel entrance, her appearance provoking a flurry of flashlights.
"Why did you come out? Didn’t I say I’d come up to get you?" James Reed asked lovingly, "It’s so cold waiting here."
"Not cold." Ophelia felt as if her heart was filled with honey, she couldn’t sense the external temperature anymore.
She could only feel James holding her hand, the warm temperature transmitted all the way to her heart.
With James here, she’s not afraid of anything, soon she’ll be James’s wife, James will protect her.
"Alright, let’s go." James smiled, helping Ophelia into the car.
