Chapter 142: Chapter 142 Where to Sleep?

However, she was still a bit shy, quickly getting into bed and then pulling the quilt over herself.

After covering herself, she felt that she was being overly cautious, so she pulled the quilt back open and said to Mu Qiancheng, "I’m going to take a nap for a bit, the baby is all yours."

"Sure, take a nap," Mu Qiancheng replied with a smile, then looked down to accompany Little Reunion.

Jiang Xue pulled the quilt over herself again and closed her eyes to rest. However, as soon as she closed her eyes, she found it impossible to fall asleep.

She kept sneaking glances at Mu Qiancheng and then pulling the quilt over herself again. What Jiang Xue didn’t know was that her little movements were all seen by Mu Qiancheng, who was pretending not to notice.

Jiang Xue wasn’t sure when she fell asleep, but by the time she woke up, it was almost seven o’clock.

"You’re awake?" Mu Qiancheng asked with a smile when he saw Jiang Xue waking up.

"Hungry? Go wash up a bit, let’s go get some dinner." Mu Qiancheng looked at the still-drowsy and a bit naive Jiang Xue and reached out to tousle her beautiful hair.

It was only then that Jiang Xue snapped to her senses, her face turning bright red. She jumped out of bed and rushed into the bathroom.

Standing in front of the bathroom mirror, looking at her slightly flushed face, Jiang Xue splashed some cold water onto it.

The cold water cooled down her face slowly. Once her face no longer felt hot, she began washing up.

"Let’s go!" Jiang Xue came out of the bathroom, grabbed a jacket, and was about to pick up Little Reunion, but Mu Qiancheng said, "I’ll carry the baby."

As soon as the two of them left the room, the door of the in-laws’ room next door opened as well.

"Dad, Mom, sorry for keeping you waiting," Jiang Xue said apologetically to her parents-in-law, realizing she hadn’t meant to sleep for so long.

"It’s okay, we just woke up not long ago," Bai Yuhua said with a smile, teasing the little grandson in Mu Qiancheng’s arms.

"Let’s go, let’s get dinner."

They had dinner at a street stall. Mu Siwu and Mu Qiancheng shared a bottle of beer, while Jiang Xue and Bai Yuhua had drinks.

After dinner, the family took a stroll through the night market before returning to rest.

When Mu Qiancheng had seen his parents off to their room and accompanied Jiang Xue back to their room, he showed no intention of leaving, which made Jiang Xue anxious, prompting her to ask, "Qiancheng, it’s so late, don’t you need to return to your unit?"

"What, don’t you want me to stay with you?" Mu Qiancheng asked with a smile, looking at Jiang Xue.

Of course, I don’t want that!

However, when it came to speaking out, it turned into, "How could I not?"

"That’s good!" Mu Qiancheng said, his smile widening. He certainly wasn’t planning to leave tonight. Last night, he had no choice as he hadn’t taken leave. But today was different; he had taken leave.

"You?" Jiang Xue said, hearing Mu Qiancheng’s words and especially seeing the smile on his face, feeling like she had shot herself in the foot.

She had assumed Mu Qiancheng would go back to the base like he did last night. After all, the base wasn’t too far away, and even if there were no buses, he could run back in under forty minutes.

But judging by Mu Qiancheng’s behavior, he was planning to stay tonight.

The thought of him staying made Jiang Xue feel a bit uneasy. There was only one bed in the room; where would Mu Qiancheng sleep if he stayed?

She couldn’t possibly let him settle for the chair all night, could she? If her parents-in-law found out, who knows what they would think of her.

But if she let him on the bed, who knows what might happen?
