Rebirth: Love in the Apocalypse-Chapter 148: Stadium 3
"The stadium roof can only be opened from here." He said.
Mo Chenxuan, Qin Wu and several others lowered their heads to study the blueprint.
At a glance, it was within the stadium and a little far from any of the entrances.
"How can we get there?" Qin Wu asked.
"Through this staff entrance. You also need to cross this corridor before finding the room." The person said, pointing as he spoke.
Mo Chenxuan and Qin Wu followed the places he had pointed out and indeed saw the mechanism room.
"Will the mechanism still be working?" Mo Chenxuan asked, and the structural engineer sighed.
After all, it had been half a year since the apocalypse began.
Even if the mechanism was still intact, the stadium’s electricity may no longer be working.
"The mechanism uses the cable and pulley system, but it requires a lot of electricity. If the electricity is down, we have to go here to manually restart the generator." The structural engineer said while pointing to another location.
Fortunately, the mechanism room and the power room were along the same corridor, albeit tens of metres apart.
"We need someone who can work the machines." Mo Chenxuan announced, looking around.
He and Qin Wu were willing to enter the stadium. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
However, they weren’t engineers and would be at a loss if handling the machines went beyond the basics.
"Boss, I am willing." A woman shouted.
The woman was in her late thirties or early forties.
At a glance, Mo Chenxuan and Qin Wu recognised her as one of the experts involved in the territory planning. Her name was Wang Meilin, and from what they knew, she was capable and responsible.
Since she offered, the two nodded, and Qin Wu smiled.
"Chenxuan and I will escort you. We won’t let anything happen to you." She said, and the woman nodded.
After discussing the route and precautions, Mo Chenxuan and Qin Wu didn’t waste time.
After all, it was only a little over one week before the deadline.
Considering that, they planned to make haste and quickly deal with the stadium before time ran out.
An hour later, three people approached the staff entrance.
Fortunately, the army had cleared the external area, and the three didn’t encounter any zombies.
"I hear a dozen or so zombies on the other side of the gate." Qin Wu stated and turned to the female expert.
"This entrance uses an interlocking door system. Try to open the door to see if it’s fail-safe or fail-secure." Wang Meilin instructed.
If the door was fail-safe, it would open since the power was out, but if it was fail-secure, they would have to pry it open.
Fortunately, luck was on their side, and the door opened with a little pull.
Seeing this, Qin Wu turned to Wang Meilin.
"Stay back while Chenxuan and I deal with the zombies." She said.
"Got it."
After Wang Meilin retreated, Mo Chenxuan opened the door wider, and a zombie rushed out.
The zombie was level one and easily dealt with.
In the same way, they dealt with the other zombies before entering the entrance lobby.
The lobby had three doors leading to different corridors.
However, because they studied the blueprints, the two were not confused and easily chose the correct door.
"Wait here while we clear the corridor." Qin Wu instructed, and Wang Meilin nodded.
After that, Qin Wu opened the right door and simultaneously attacked with a space slash.
A moment later, a grunt echoed in the place and a heavy thud was heard.
Mo Chenxuan was also not slow.
In the blink of an eye, he threw two lightning bolts and killed two zombies.
"The stadium employed five hundred or so permanent staff. Since the apocalypse began during the concert, most of the staff were likely scattered all over the stadium. We shouldn’t encounter too many zombies on our way to the two rooms." Mo Chenxuan analysed.
"I agree." Qin Wu said with a thoughtful expression.
From the blueprints, the corridor was almost three hundred metres long.
However, it was a curved road rather than a straight path.
Most importantly, it had rooms on both sides, and zombies could be trapped in some or all the rooms.
"We must clear each room along the corridor." Qin Wu said, and Mo Chenxuan nodded.
After all, even if the rooms were closed and the zombies were trapped inside, the two couldn’t ignore the threat and hastily forge ahead.
"Wu’er, you take the left rooms and I will take the right." Mo Chenxuan suggested, and Qin Wu agreed.
It was safer to act together, but time was of the essence.
Most importantly, the two trusted each other and did not doubt that the other could deal with whatever threats they encountered.
After exchanging a glance, Qin Wu went left and Mo Chenxuan went right.
Mo Chenxuan could use his spiritual ability to spy inside.
Similarly, Qin Wu used her auditory enhancement ability to estimate the number and positions of the zombies trapped inside the room.
’Three. All near the door.’ She thought and subconsciously frowned.
However, she didn’t waste time.
After condensing a space slash on each palm, she kicked the door open and immediately attacked.
Two zombies fell in the blink of an eye.
As for the third, it was slow to react and was killed in the second wave of attacks.
After that, Qin Wu collected the crystal cores and looked around the room.
The room was a restroom and, excluding tissue paper, hand washing soap, and cleaning items, it didn’t have other supplies.
After opening the stalls to confirm she had eliminated all the threats, Qin Wu left the room and returned to the corridor.
In this way, she and Mo Chenxuan went from room to room, destroying the zombies and occasionally collecting supplies.
One hour later, they arrived at the mechanism room, each with a thoughtful expression.
"What’s on your mind?" Mo Chenxuan asked.
"Did you notice?" Qin Wu asked instead.
