Rebirth: Revenge of the abandoned heirress-Chapter 27: Vixen exposed
Chapter 27 - Vixen exposed
"Jazmine, it was such a nice play. You completely won over me and everyone else." Rosaline stepped in front of everyone and said with a fake smile. "It is so sad David wasn't here to admire it. Speaking of which... Why didn't Brother David accompany you today? It was your first time home after marriage. He should have accompanied you."
Rosaline purposely used the word "David" instead of "brother-in-law" to appear close to him. People noticed it. And now that Rosaline mentioned it, they also realized David's absence. Earlier, some of them had expected his presence, knowing that it was Jazmine Harrison's first visit home after marriage. They looked at Jazmine with questioning eyes.
It seemed as if their relationship wasn't very good. So could the rumors be true that David Anderson adored Rosaline and not Jazmine?
Jazmine only faintly smiled in response. No one could tell what was hidden under that calm smile. Was it sadness? Was it indifference? Or was it anger?
"He had some important business to attend. So he couldn't visit."
"Is that so?" Rosaline's voice was surprised. "Indeed, I received a text from him on the night of your wedding that he was leaving for Vietnam for a business trip. I was surprised myself. What could be so important that he abandoned my Jazmine on her wedding night?"
Hushed whispers surrounded them at the startling discovery. Sabrina Voss wished she could have stopped Rosaline's words from being recorded, but it was a live stream. No one knew who would say what next.
Their wedding had been magnificent. Millions were spent on it. It took place in a first-class royal hall. Many important people from all over the world were invited. Reporters from national and international media groups were present, and the whole event was covered and played on mainstream channels countless times. The wedding remained a hot topic of discussion on entertainment shows.
"So David Anderson left Jazmine Harrison on his wedding night?"
"More importantly, he texted Rosaline on his wedding night?"
"The rumors are indeed true. We all know that. Jazmine must have forced the marriage using her grandfather's influence." Sarah Whites said when no one else came forward to throw insults at Jazmine. They had all already been won over by her. So they were reluctant to do so.
Amelia was getting angrier by the moment. She was ready to shake off Rosaline by giving her a few sharp insults, but Jazmine stopped her by holding her back.
She had thought about it before coming to the reality show. She had planned to reveal to everyone that the marriage between her and David was only an arranged matter. To tell everyone that they both had no feelings towards each other. That it was only a fake marriage limited to papers. After all, Jazmine had no hopes for this marriage—not after what David had done to her in his previous life. It was a lie named as a marriage. Sooner or later, she would have to get a divorce.
But before she could say those fateful words, the house butler, Zhou, came running to them and informed them.
"Housemistress, Mr. Anderson is here to visit the eldest miss."
Everyone was stunned into momentary silence.

"Are you sure, butler? Which Mr. Anderson are you talking about?" Rosaline was the first one to break the silence, her voice lacking the typical gentleness of her tone.
"Youngest miss, it is Mr. David Anderson."
At this time, shouldn't he be in Vietnam? He never actually came in her last life. What caused this unpredicted turn of events? Jazmine silently pondered.
"It can't be. It can't be David!" Rosaline said vehemently, not caring about her white-lotus reputation anymore. She was frustrated beyond words. None of her plans to humiliate Jazmine had worked so far. Only, Jazmine was made to shine more and more, and she was continuously embarrassed. There was a limit a person could take before bursting out. "He is in Vietnam! Old man, you must have seen wrong. You have been getting quite old, indeed. Must have gotten some eye problem!"
Rosaline had lied about receiving a text from David to hurt Jazmine. But she knew for sure that he had gone on a business trip. She had her spies inform her about that.
Butler Zhou was used to Rosaline's bad temper and humiliation. After being insulted in front of so many people, he grudgingly said:
"Youngest miss, if you do not believe this humble servant, come with me and look for yourself. Mr. Anderson is currently waiting in the lobby."
"That would be very advantageous for us if we can get a word or two from David Anderson," her director whispered to Sabrina Voss. The showtime was about to end.
"Now that Mr. Anderson is here, why don't we go and welcome him?" Sabrina's eyes gleamed with happiness as she spoke loudly. David Anderson was known to be a private person. He never appeared in any talk shows or interviews, let alone a reality show.
If she could record David Anderson, her episode would be such a huge success, and the viewership would surely increase.
"Huh! Liar." A guest who passed by Rosaline openly scoffed at her, shoving her away bluntly.
"Such a repulsive girl. She isn't at all like her mother claims her to be. Her sister treats her so well, but she is hell-bent on making her fall—to the extent of lying. I'm never going to let my daughters hang around her again. My daughters love each other dearly. I don't want them to pick up anything from her."
"She is just a jealous, spiteful vixen. It is understandable. After all, Jazmine is so good at everything. But could Rosaline not put aside her jealousy for the fact that Jazmine is so good to her?"
No one tried to take her side now that it was proven she had lied. For all they knew, she might have lied about her and David too! Now that David was not by her side, why would they bother to take her side and insult such a nice girl as Jazmine? Once again, Rosaline and her mother stood completely forgotten as everyone proceeded to welcome the esteemed guest.
