"Your chest will be my pillow tonight!"

Vanessa stated as she smiled slightly Taking Rowen by surprise.

With the beautiful woman in his arms, Rowen didn’t know whether to take her away or stay put.

Sighing, he just continued working as Vanessa remained in his arms, cuddling him as tightly as she could.

And before she knew it, she slept off like a baby.. turns out what she needed to sleep was actually her husband’s strong abs.

Soon Rowen was done and so he turned off his laptop and fixed his gaze on the woman before him.

She was dressed in a cute blue pajamas as she cuddled him like a baby.

Using his strength, he carried her up in a bridal style as he made his way straight to her room.

Upon arriving, he gently placed her on the bed as he tucked her in. He stayed for some time as he look at her peaceful face when sleeping

She looked so innocent, like she had never committed not even a single sin in this world. He sighed! Woman and their power of possessing innocent beauty.

With that, he turned around ready to leave as he was pulled back by Vanessa as she rose up immediately.

"Don’t leave me!" She cried out as she pouted taking him by surprise.

"Weren’t you sleeping? Why are you awake?"

"You promised to take good care of mennow you want to leave me all alone... Your are a meanie!" She started to cry and seeing that Rowen just sighed in defeat.

"Alright, alright! I’ll stay for tonight.." he said as Vanessa smiled immediately, pulling him towards her as he collapsed next to her on the soft bed.

Rolling towards him, Vanessa placed her head on his chest as she drifted off to sleep and seeing this, Rowen then wrapped his arms around her pulling her so close that he could smell her soft scent.

This was the warmest and safest the both of them have felt in a long time.

The next morning, Linda and Kami had arrived as early as they could as they took care of Vanessa all morning.

Seeing that Vanessa was being handled by her mom and sister, Rowen went to work to get some few things done.

Soon evening came and Vanessa’s mother and sister went back home to rest for the day.

Leaving Vanessa alone with Vivian. Apart from serving her tea, Vivian didn’t say anything to her and Vanessa preferred it that way because she knew whatever Vivian would say would be one bitter and painful truth she didn’t want to hear at this moment.

But just as she was starting to enjoy her peaceful evening, the last person she wanted to see in his world appeared.

Dressed lavishly as usual, Rachel walked into the Quinn mansion in all smiles but as soon as her eyes landed on Vanessa, her entire smile dropped.

"What are hell are you doing here?" She shouted walking towards Vanessa angrily.

Sighing, Vanessa snapped back, "if anyone should be asking that question it should be me... You seem to enjoy coming into people’s houses don’t you?"

Vanessa frowned obviously annoyed to see her.

"Rowen is going to be my fiancee soon, me coming into this house is like coming into my own home." Rachel folded her hands proudly.

Obviously tired of her stupid way of thinking, Vanessa just shaked her head, "You still haven’t gotten raid of that stupid fantasy of yours have you.. how many times would the universe slap into your face that you’re never going to marry Rowen, why are you so stupid?"

"How dare you insult me? Who do you think you are.. you dare question me when you are a shameless bitch yourself, you dare come into the house of your ex-husband.. how much shameless can you be?" 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶

Standing up, Vanessa faced her, "Well at least I didn’t sleep with my soon to be fiance’s cousin," Vanessa teased as upon hearing that, Rachel couldn’t take it anymore.

Using her hands, she pushed Vanessa on her shoulder causing an instance pain to fill Vanessa’s body.

"Ahhh.. my shoulder!" Vanessa shouted slightly as she hissed in pain, her eyes wet.

Just then Rowen walked in snd upon seeing Vanessa in pain, he quickly ran towards her Vanessa, "Are you alright?" He questioned as Vanessa leaned on him and shaked her head in pain.

Frowning, Rachel shouted, "What a pretender, Rowen.. I didn’t do anything to her, just a small push and she’s already in tears.. you really are a top actress Vaness-"

Before she could finish her words, Rowen gave her a tight slap across her face as she stood there in shock.

"R-rowen?"

She called out, taken aback by her sudden actions but she was immediately met with his cold gaze.. she had never seen him so angry before.

"Haven’t I already told you not to come here, how dare you raise your hands on Vanessa?" He shouted as Rachel was lost for words. Before she could say anything, he called out.

"George!" And immediately George appeared, "Take her away, I don’t want to see her near my house ever again.. get her out and call the doctor!"

He instructed as George nodded to took Rachel away, "You throw me out for that bitch! Rowen it’s not fair, I’m your finance.. you can’t treat me like this.."

She shouted until her voice faded. George threw her out and and immediately called for the doctor.

Meanwhile, Rowen carried Vanessa and took her straight to her bedroom as the doctor came to check on her.

"Doctor, is she alright?"

"She’s alright, her wounds were just tampered with.. the pain will reduce once she takes her painkiller and relax, she’ll be find.. don’t worry too much."

And with that, the doctor made his way out as Rowen walked towards Vanessa.

"Why did you just stand there and watch her bully you without doing anything?"

He asked but unknown to him that Vanessa had already saw him coming from afar so in other to play with victim, she just let Rachel do what she wanted and as expected it worked.

"Maybe because I was waiting for you to protect me," she said as she smiled and closed her eyes to rest.
