Rebirth, Seduce My Ex-husband-Chapter 62: Mother In-Law Face off
Vanessa wrapped her towel and left the bathroom leaving Rowen taken aback
She walked straight to the huge mirror at the side of her dressing room as she removed her to towel to see her self closely.
He was right! She was changing and getting fatter.

Now seated in the living room with Rowen and Tara was Vanessa, as she was busy reading the script for her next movie.
It was said to shoot in a year’s time, but she was already given the role by the director with an unedited script and plot to see how it was going to be like.
After Rowen left, she took a one-year leave from the industry, causing so many fans to cry and different movie directors to cry as well.
But that still didn’t stop her from getting roles, advertising packs, and sponsorships from different brands.
Some even started sending her scripts of movies and series that were to start shooting in a year’s time so they could hire her for the role before she returned and got busy.
"You took a whole year leave, why?" Rowen finally asked the question that had been on his mind for about a month.
When he was in Willows, he saw the news of Vanessa’s one-year leave. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
Not meeting his gaze, Vanessa was just about to answer when someone he hadn’t seen in a while walked in.
"My son returned and didn’t even think of visiting his mother," said Catherine as she walked in, dressed rather more simply than usual, handing over her handbag to the maids.
Seeing his mother, Rowen stood up, and so did Vanessa.
"Mom? How are you?" Rowen said as he walked towards her, hugging her slightly.
And she hugged him too, smiling. "I’ve been good. Since you left, your mother has been so lonely... I’m happy to see you’re back."
She then turned to Vanessa, who didn’t seem particularly happy to see her.
When Catherine heard that Vanessa was now married to Rowen, she came to the Quinn mansion to cause a scene, promising to throw Vanessa out of the house no matter what.
Seeing that same crazy woman walk in here looking like an innocent angel made Vanessa feel like puking.
"It looks like your wife doesn’t know good manners any longer," Catherine commented as she gave Vanessa a glare, but she couldn’t care less as she just bowed slightly and took her seat.
Seeing that, Catherine frowned as she exchanged looks with Rowen, who just smiled at her slightly. "Do you see how arrogant she is? She can’t even properly welcome her mother-in-law... how will she raise Tara properly?"
"Tara is a sweet child, unlike you. You are old and fussy. Raising her will be much easier than dealing with you," Vanessa replied, her words sharp and showing no remorse whatsoever.
In her past life, Catherine had done so many things to her, and back then Rowen hardly came home because he didn’t want to have a fight with her, so he couldn’t help or defend her from his wicked mother.
One reason she hated Rowen in her past life.
"Rowen, do you see how sharp-tongued your wife is? She doesn’t even care who she’s talking to. I am your mother! I don’t deserve to be disrespected like this!" Catherine pulled the emotional card as she pretended to cry slightly.
Rowen just patted her on the back as he said, "Vanessa didn’t mean any of that, Ma. She’s more than happy to welcome you and to see you... come and sit."
He helped her take a seat just beside him, calling the maids to get her some snacks and tea.
Soon, Catherine stopped with the childish act as she then turned to Rowen, "So where is she?"
Her question caused Vanessa and Rowen to exchange looks.
"Where is who, Mother?" Rowen asked as Vanessa called some maids to take Tara inside, guessing it was about to get ugly between them.
"Who else? I want to know where that baby mama of yours is. Isn’t she in this house, or has this witch driven her out?" she said, glaring at Vanessa, who just rolled her eyes.
"Mother, who told you about this?"
"Mariam told me all about what occurred last night, and I have to say that I’m so proud of you, son, for giving me another grandchild."
She patted Rowen on the head, her words receiving a confused expression from Rowen as Vanessa had had enough at this moment.
She laughed and then said, "I should have guessed those would be your reactions. After all, you are a spiteful old woman who doesn’t know the difference between right and wrong..."
Vanessa stood up, her stance firm. "Your son got another woman pregnant while being married, and instead of reprimanding him and scolding him, you support him and even bless him? You are disgusting."
Vanessa shouted at the top of her voice as Catherine stood up, her face red with anger.
"You witch, you dare talk to me like this?" Catherine pointed as she glared fiercely.
"How else do you expect me to react? I want more grandchildren, and have you given me any of that? No! You haven’t. For seven years you and Rowen have been married, and apart from Tara, who was gotten by mistake, you haven’t given me any other grandchildren."
"My son is going to be the heir to the Quinn family. He needs a son to pass his lineage to, and you dare question me for being happy?"
"Mother, calm down. Vanessa, you both should calm down," Rowen tried to calm them both down, but the two women were literally having a face-off.
Shoving her son away, Catherine wasn’t having it. "Don’t tell me to calm down, son. This crazy wife of yours needs to be taught a lesson. You think you own the world just because you and Rowen are married, huh? Well, just you wait as that woman takes away what you so much carry pride for."
Hearing her words, Vanessa scoffed, "Oh really? Are you talking about the same thing your husband did to you?"
