Chapter 66: She Caused The Fire 2

"You tried to kill me and my unborn child, Vanessa," Stacy said, her words causing everyone’s attention to fall on both her and Vanessa.

Meanwhile, hearing her words, Vanessa felt absolutely taken aback.

"What the hell are you talking about? Why would I want to kill you and your baby?"

"Oh please, drop the act. We all know very well that since I came into the house with Rowen, you haven’t been happy," Stacy said. "I know that no wife would be happy to know that their husband brought another woman home and that the woman happens to be pregnant for them, but that doesn’t mean you would go through such lengths to get rid of me."

Having had enough, Vanessa snapped back, "Now enough of that bullshit. Why the hell would I want you dead? Even if I wanted to hurt you, it wouldn’t be like this especially not on a night when everyone is present. I would have done it secretly, where no one would be able to save you."

Vanessa’s words made absolute sense, and Catherine and the rest nodded.

But Stacy wasn’t having it. "Oh really? Then explain why the hell the maids you sent for me disappeared all of a sudden. And please also explain why the door was locked."

Turning to Rowen, Stacy took hold of his arm. "Rowen, you remember when Vanessa assigned some maids to me? Well, those maids have been so suspicious, but I didn’t put much thought into it because I knew they were chosen personally by Vanessa, so I thought I’d probably be safe with them."

"But those maids locked me in my room while I was getting dressed. Then, when I was able to break down my room door, I found out that the entire house was covered with smoke. I tried to get out, but the front door was jammed so hard, and I fainted from the smoke."

Stacy said, crying, as she tried collapsing, but Rowen caught her just in time and placed her properly.

"Enough of all this! Vanessa has been with me the whole time... there’s no way she caused any of this. If there is anyone to be blamed and questioned, then it should be the maids."

Turning to Vivian, Rowen instructed, "Vivian, get the two maids who were assigned by Vanessa to take care of Stacy. I want them here immediately."

Vivian nodded and did as instructed.

"Rowen, there is no way Vanessa would do such a thing... I can’t believe you still have to call the maids to confirm," Linda said, not happy about any of this at all.

"No, Mother, you misunderstood. I believe Vanessa wouldn’t do it... but I’m sure there would still be doubts from certain people, so it’s better to clear all this up once and for all, Mother."

He said as Vanessa collapsed on the couch, Kami running to her side.

Her expression was unreadable, but she was tired at this point. So tired.

Soon, the maids arrived, both of them literally shaking upon seeing Rowen and the rest of them present.

With an annoyed expression, Rowen questioned, his voice cold and deep enough to scare the living hell out of somebody.

"Tell me, are you responsible for locking and trapping Stacy in the guest house, and are you both responsible for the fire?"

Rowen asked as the two maids exchanged glances and shook their heads. "No, Mr. Quinn, we are innocent."

They denied it, just as George appeared with an iPad in his hands.

"I was able to get the CCTV footage of the guest house before the fire began... here it is."

He showed Rowen, who immediately turned red with anger.

He showed everyone else the footage, and in it, they could see the maids locking Stacy’s room as they also locked the main door, stopping her from escaping.

Seeing this, Vivian immediately bent down and gave the two maids a hard slap on their faces, causing their cheeks to swell and turn red.

"Now, are you ready to tell the truth?!" Rowen shouted, smashing the iPad on the grill, as they both shivered in fear.

"Y-yes, Mr. Quinn... w-we will tell the truth now, w-we promise..." they cried out.

"I won’t repeat myself again. Now tell me, who instructed you to do this? We all know you couldn’t have just done it of your own free will."

He said as they both gulped hard, until they then revealed:

"It was Miss Quinn, sir. S-she was the one who told us to lock Miss Stacy inside the guest house and burn the place down."

They said, pointing straight at Vanessa, their words taking everyone by surprise.

"Me?" Vanessa asked, her eyes completely filled with shock.

Standing up, Kami defended, "What rubbish! Vanessa would never do such a thing. How dare you lie... I’ll teach you a lesson."

She said, ready to charge at them, but Vanessa stopped her.

"W-we are telling the truth. Miss Quinn instructed us to do all those things. She said she didn’t want to see Miss Stacy alive. She said she wanted her and her unborn child dead... so we had no other choice but to do it. Please let us go, we just followed instructions."

They both pleaded, as Rowen turned to Vanessa, but she didn’t even look at him. At this point, she didn’t know what to say.

Everything was planned. She had to give a round of applause to Stacy. She knew well enough how to get things done. She couldn’t believe she had let her outsmart her like that.

Standing up, Stacy had a smile of victory fixed on her face as she pointed at Vanessa. "You! I said it... you only want to hurt me. You are evil... you are evil, you bitch!"

She shouted, charging toward Vanessa, ready to hit her hard, but Rowen took hold of her hands and slapped her hard across the face.

"What the hell do you think you are trying to do?"
