Rebirth Swapped Bride; Married to the Ruthless Cursed Billionaire-Chapter 44: Putting a spy at Sinclair’s company
Chapter 44 - Putting a spy at Sinclair's company
Within the Luther Corporation.
"President Luther--"
The moment she saw Sinclair, the receptionist at the front desk put down what she was currently handling and came forward.
Noticing Camilla beside Sinclair, her eyes widened with the spirit of gossip emanating from them.
Who was this woman? She was wearing a couple's outfit with President Luther and he personally brought her to the company.
Looking at her appearance and temperament, could she be some famous rising star?
The receptionist moved forward with an eager curiosity, intending to press the elevator button for Sinclair, but was stopped by Ramsey.
"You go on with your work, I'll handle this."
The receptionist had no choice but to stand in place, watching as Ramsey respectfully ushered the two of them into the President's private elevator.
As soon as the three of them had disappeared, she immediately picked up her phone, excitedly informing her colleagues about the preceding events.
The spread of gossip news is always the fastest. Soon enough, many people within the Luther Corporation had heard the news, their curiosity piqued to the max.
Inside the President's office.
Camilla sat on the sofa, her beautiful eyes quietly observing her surroundings.
Case in point, there was a complete absence of color, save for black, white, and gray.
The overall decoration style was minimalistic and somber, much like the impression Sinclair gave people.
Camilla was visiting his office.
Seated on a leather couch, Sinclair watched her, his gaze pensive and unreadable.
In the midst of this silence, suddenly,
"Knock, Knock, Knock--"
The office door resounded with a knock, accompanied by the voice of Ramsey from outside,
"Mr. Luther." Clearly, it was time for the meeting.
Sinclair sat at his desk, glanced at the time on his watch and warmly uttered to Camilla.
"I'm not sure when the meeting will end.
If you find it boring, you can ask Ramsey to take you home at any time."
Camilla's eyes twinkled, obediently she nodded her head.
"Okay."
Sinclair looked at Camilla's bright smile, a touch of unexplainable softness born deep in his heart.
Of course, he quickly ignored it.
Yet, the warmth flowing in his eyes couldn't be concealed.
The conference room.
The branch leaders and department heads from the head office sat on edge, their faces taut as if facing a severe foe.
Naturally, the 'enemy' they referred to was the handsome man sitting at the head of the table.
The entire room's atmosphere was cold, serious, and tense.
Zeus, who had been appointed, stood in front of the projector, pulled up data of his department's performance over the past few months, and began his report, trembling with fear.
To him, President Luther's oppressive force seemed worse than when Grandpa Luther held the position, making it impossible to not get nervous.
Finally, the report was completed.
Zeus let out a sigh of relief, just about to step down, when the man at the head of the table suddenly spoke.
"Ramsey--" Oh no! Despite checking more than a dozen times, he had made a mistake?
Zeus's heart trembled, he immediately halted his steps.
Everyone else also began to look up, their gaze shifting towards him.
The atmosphere in the office swiftly transitioned from tension to coldness.
Under everyone's watchful gaze, Sinclair slowly started to speak.
"Get some desserts and fruits, and open the movie room."
Everyone's eyes widened in shock. What desserts?
Which movie? Were they experiencing auditory hallucinations? What was CEO Luther talking about?!
Was CEO Luther worried that his wife was bored? Out of nowhere came a sentence that Ramsey did comprehend, and he gave a slight nod in response.
"Yes."
As he spoke, he stepped back and retreated. Everyone exchanged glances.
Indeed, not just anyone could serve as CEO Luther's special assistant. Sinclair lifted his gaze towards everyone.
"The meeting continues."
-
Suburban Villa.
"What?"
The man, who bears a slight resemblance to Sinclair, furrows his eyebrows.
"Sandra?"
"Correct,"
Margaret looked at Tyler, her exquisite face sporting a habitually gentle smile.
"Grandpa in the Luther Family is biased.
He's not willing to hand over the Luther Family to your dad, nor to you,"
Her eyes narrowed slightly.
"To sit on equal footing with Sinclair, we must look for other methods."
Tyler, pursed his lips.
His slightly lowered eyes were full of depth. Indeed, in his grandfather's eyes, there was only Sinclair.
Whether he admitted it or not, this was a fact.
"The Porter family is mighty but only has Sandra as the heir."
Margaret curved her lips.
Her eyes were filled with ambition.
"As long as you can be with her, the Porter family will be yours in the future."
Tyler's heart stirred as he listened to his mother, but his heart also held a few reservations.
"But this Sandra has liked Sinclair since childhood,"
He furrowed his brows, deep in thought.
"How can I persuade her to willingly be with me?"
"You needn't worry about it.
I'll make arrangements for you."
Margaret said with a smile.
Some strategies always work, no matter when they are applied.
"Alright." Tyler, hooked up the corner of his mouth with a sarcastic smile, a shadow cast over his handsome features.
He wanted to take away everything that belonged to Sinclair, even the people who were unilaterally in love with him.
Luther Corporation. In the president's office cinema room.
"Madam," Ramsey gently said to Camilla.
"These are the desserts and fruits that the president specifically had people buy for you."
As he spoke, five to six bodyguards walked in carrying all kinds of desserts and fruits.
Their serious faces, muscular bodies, and the brightly colored, cute desserts in their hands formed a great contrast that was adorably fascinating.
Camilla pursed her lips, as a smile shimmered in her eyes.
Even the several mercenaries didn't expect this.
The sudden assignment they received was to find the tastiest desserts in San Francisco and buy them all back as fast as possible.
"Thank you."
Camilla smiled and gave a slight nod to Ramsey.
"You're too polite, Madam," Ramsey smiled "All of this is because the boss is afraid you might get bored.
He specifically instructed me to do so."
As a qualified assistant, it's important to constantly help your boss maintain a visible presence.
But to tell the truth, he was quite surprised.
The information that the Madame likes watching movies and eating desserts was something his boss remembered so clearly.
Hearing this, the smile on Camilla's face deepened.
"Do you have any movies you'd like to watch? I can play them for you now."
"No need to rush," Camilla looked at Ramsey, her voice soft. "I need your help with something."
Ramsey remained calm.
"Madam, what can I do for you?" Camilla nodded, getting straight to the point. "Find a trustworthy person for me.
There's something that needs to be done."
As she gazed at the countless people of the Luther Family, she knew her would-be assassin was still lurking.
She couldn't trust anyone else.
"Alright, please wait a moment," Without any hesitation, Ramsey nodded and then pulled out his phone. "
Harris, come to Ceo Luther's office."
Harris?
Camilla frowned slightly, finding the name vaguely familiar.
Five minutes later.
A young man with a buzz-cut, handsome appearance and sturdy physique walked in.
"Madam," Ramsey said in a gentle voice.
"I'll take my leave now."
As for what Madam wanted Harris to do, he was not curious in the slightest.
"Madam--" Harris nods his head.
The moment he saw this face, Camilla understood instantly.
In her past life, this person had shielded her husband from a bullet, and she had been the one to administer the final emergency treatment.
However, the wound was too critical and the blood loss too great.
Despite her best efforts, he did not survive and sacrificed his life. Thinking back to that scene, a trace of sorrow flashed through Camilla's beautiful eyes. "Madam," Harris said with a solemn face.
"If you have any tasks, please feel free to instruct me."
"No need to be so serious, what I'm asking of you is rather simple," Camilla snapped back to attention and pulled out a card and a piece of paper with an address written on it from her bag.
"Buy the hospital at this address and the suburban courtyard."
Her voice sank slightly.
"Then, sell it to the Sanchez family at double the price."
She wanted to make Augustine bleed a large amount of money.
As for other matters, they could be handled slowly in the future.
"Yes,"
Harris took the card and paper from Camilla's hand, nodding.
"Madam, rest assured."
"If I could do it all over again, I would love you properly."
Last night, in order to comfort Sinclair, she hadn't slept well.
Just as the movie projected this line of dialogue, Camilla dozed off in a daze.
That's when Sinclair came in.
He glanced at the movie screen and paused it. Then, he walked towards Camilla.
The room was carpet-covered; no sound resonated with every step.
Camilla was sleeping soundly in the recliner, with the paused movie scene casting a gentle shift of light on her delicate face.
Her waterfall-like long, curly hair casually spreads over the back, her thick eyelashes slightly trembling along with her shallow breaths.
Her exquisitely stunning eyebrows encapsulated a sense of peaceful tranquility. Everything appeared to sway tranquillity, just like a calm river of time.
This woman, it seemed, was always without defense on his territory.
Sinclair's demeanor softened, the chilly intent in his eyes had long faded away, and his overwhelming aura had also receded quite a bit.
He gently caressed the woman's alluring, luscious lips, his voice low.
"Camilla--" In her drowsy sleep, Camilla felt someone place something edible against her lips, and she subconsciously opened her mouth to bite down on it.
A dull pain spread up his fingertip, making Sinclair stop in his tracks.
Camilla bit down on the 'food' in her mouth, her eyebrows furrowing in her sleep, and she mumbled in a coquettish tone.
"No flavor; not tasty."
In the midst of speaking, she rolled over to continue her sleep.
Seeing this, a doting smile tugged at the corner of Sinclair's mouth; he swiftly unfurled his suit jacket and draped it over Camilla.
Then very carefully, he gathered her entire frame into his arms and walked away.
Caught in a comforting scent, Camilla did not even bother to open her eyes, nuzzling further into the man's chest to continue her slumber.
Her instinctive dependent actions softened Sinclair's usually stern face.
Ramsey opened his mouth to call out to Sinclair as he walked out, "--Boss..."
Upon noticing the woman in President Luther's arms, he instantly chose to fall silent and pressed the elevator button for the pair.
At the same time, he sent a message in the company group, canceling the meeting scheduled for half an hour later.
The staff working in the lobby was shocked at the sight of their president carrying a woman in his arms.
They were all taken aback. Who said their CEO isn't interested in women and is cold-hearted?!
That's just complete nonsense!!
The woman embraced in the CEO's arms, did she save the universe in her past life?
Unfortunately, his clothes are obstructing the view, so I can't make out her features clearly. -- On the other hand.
In a high end coffee shop.
"What?" Holding her phone, Sandra's delicate eyebrows furrowed tightly.
"Did Sinclair bring a woman to the company? And he even held her in his arms when he left?!"
Opposite her, a woman wearing a short white skirt with a sweet face looked surprised.
Has Sandra actually placed a spy in Sinclair's company?
"What kind of woman is she?" Sandra asked in a grave tone, her face full of surprise and curiosity over the phone.
"Do you know who she is?"
"All I know is she's a very beautiful woman.
Mr. Luther does not let anyone get close; no one knows who she is."
The female voice on the other end of the line seemed apologetic.
"However... Mr. Luther and her were wearing matching outfits. Matching outfits? Could it be Camilla?
Sandra's heart was filled with bitterness, and her delicate face darkened significantly.
This woman really was shameless.
Just married into the Luther Family, and she couldn't wait to make a statement in the Luther Group?
"I understand," Sandra tried her best to suppress the anger that bubbled from the depths of her heart.
"You're doing well, please continue to keep an eye on her."
After hanging up the phone, She leaned back leisurely on the couch.
Her aura was incredibly heavy, akin to a balloon ready to burst at any moment.
The woman, wearing a white short skirt, cautiously ventured a question.
"Sandra, what's wrong?"
Sandra took a sip of the coffee in front of her, remaining silent.
However, deep within those beautiful eyes, they were filled with shadows and discontent.
Melissa looked at her friend, sighing inwardly. Knowing that no persuasion would work, she no longer attempted to speak.
"No way!!"
Sandra suddenly spoke.
After putting down her coffee, she turned to look at Melissa.
"Melissa, I'm not satisfied, you have to help me."
"Help you?" Surprise spread across Melissa's pretty face.

"How can I help you?"
"In a few days, it will be Grandpa Luther's seventieth birthday," Sandra's eyes hardened, her voice lowering.
"At that time, you just do as I tell you."
She wanted to make Camilla lose face in front of everyone, utterly disgraced.
Melissa's lips stuttered, at a loss of how to refuse, she had no choice but to nod in agreement.
"I know you're the best."
Sandra held onto Melissa's arm, laughing.
"Coffee is boring, let me take you to a CLUB for drinks, we won't return until we're drunk."
Driving a Ferrari, the two headed towards a high-end CLUB in San Francisco.
What they didn't know was..
A few inconspicuous cars were following them at a safe distance.
