Rebirth: The Courtyard Bride Is Cool and Radiant-Chapter 806: A Bountiful Harvest
Huo Jingrui leaned in closer to Yunyi’s ear with a smile, "Rest assured, your husband will try his best."
Upon hearing this, Yunyi, no matter how thick-skinned she was, couldn’t help but blush, "What are you talking about? I’m not talking to you anymore."
After saying this, she quickly walked ahead.
However, Huo Jingrui wouldn’t let her go, and directly chased after her, "Why are you getting shy?"
Yunyi was about to speed up, but seeing her about to run off, Huo Jingrui simply hugged her.
Seeing Yunyi raise her hand to pound him, he kept holding her and spun around in place a few times, "My Yi’er is shy now."
Not knowing what came to mind, he suddenly lifted her up and swung her backwards, placing Yunyi steadily on Huo Jingrui’s back, "Yi’er, let me carry you, so you won’t get tired."
Yunyi didn’t object and obediently stayed on his back, "Does this mean I’m basking in the glory of those non-existent children of yours?"
Huo Jingrui turned his head to look at Yunyi with a gentle expression, "It’s not because of them. I just don’t want you to get tired. In a few days, I’ll have to return to the barracks first, so naturally, I want to cherish our time alone."
He knew that although these days were a bit more open compared to ancient times, there were still many constraints, especially between men and women who couldn’t be too intimate in public. But he just wanted to spoil her.
Today’s luck was truly great; after walking a short distance, they found a wild chicken.
On Huo Jingrui’s back, she directly took a small stone from her space and threw it, making the chicken fall with a bang.
Yunyi patted Huo Jingrui’s back, "Quick, let me down. I’ll gather the wild chicken."
Thinking about something, she muttered, "If only we could raise chickens in the space, then we’d have a constant supply of eggs."
Huo Jingrui chuckled, "Alright, be content with what you have."
He previously lamented Yunyi’s space for quite a while, but it was already in the past. Besides, it was for himself, so he had already come to terms with it.
But he never expected Yi’er to be so lucky, to have such an opportunity.
For him, nothing was more important than reuniting with Yunyi. As for those external possessions, it’s better to leave them to fate.
Huo Jingrui would never let his wife and children suffer.
After walking a little further, Huo Jingrui keenly spotted the yellowed stems and leaves of a ginseng plant, and pointed hesitantly towards it, "Yi’er, look, is that ginseng over there?"
Yunyi followed the direction of his finger, "Oh, it really is."
She joyfully ran ahead, took out some tools from her space, and handed them to Huo Jingrui, instructing him to dig it up, while she wandered around to see if she could find more.
Unfortunately, she didn’t find any more by the time Huo Jingrui unearthed the ginseng.
When Huo Jingrui dug up the ginseng, Yunyi took it in her hand and inspected it, "This ginseng is probably sixty to seventy years old."
She promptly stored the ginseng in her space, "Once this ginseng is processed properly, I’ll use it to make wine for you."
She took some water out to help Huo Jingrui wash his hands, and then they walked hand in hand further ahead.
As noon approached, catching sight of a huge rabbit hole, they entered the space together to have something to eat before continuing.
Reflecting on their harvest, Yunyi said, "Jingrui, I see the sky is heavily overcast, probably going to snow. We shouldn’t go any further. Let’s exit the space and head back."
Huo Jingrui nodded, "Sounds good."
With the ready-made food in the space, they quickly finished their lunch.
When they exited the space, the sky had grown even darker, and they changed regions to head back, catching a foolish roe deer and plenty of wild chickens and rabbits along the way.
When they reached a spot with stream water, they took advantage of the location to process the wild creatures.
