Chapter 244: The Terror of a Reality Sculptor [4]

BZZZZZT!

The world cracked as white ADE mixed with an eerie abyssal dark energy swirled through the sky in thick pillars!

The air shook and vibrated, reality fractured as the very indisputable laws that made reality unchangeable were tampered with.

And amid the dance of death as the Reality Sculptor played around with the laws of reality constants, 3 D Rank Ascended were tossed around in the wake of this world-ending power.

They were being rag-dolled!

"Hehe..." A dozen golden General Murphy chuckled at the same time in a mocking manner as they surrounded the 3 D Rank Ascended.

There was no escape.

"There’s no use, give up!" He taunted.

The world was ending in a loud manner around the 3 D Rank rebel Lieutenants, then it abruptly fell into silence.

BZZZZT!

...

BOOM! BAM! POW!

Major Kai was slammed into the ground as the D Rank NetRunner coughed a mouthful of blood even as 3 golden General Murphys closed in on him!

They were relentless.

Major Kai felt dizzy, his whole body ached but he wasn’t willing to give up.

Neural Projection!

’Ah, f*ck... ugh...!’ Major Kai groaned as he tumbled into the augmented reality of Purgatory again.

His body was battered, his brain was swimming.

In the augmented reality of Purgatory, the world was silent and uniform, almost like carpet grass in an endless green valley even as his ears rang.

And then...

BZZZZZT!

Sound suddenly slammed back into existence in a violent manner like a hammer on his skull as he regained his normal perception, and just like he expected, he wasn’t safe even after jumping through the psionic network.

There was another golden General Murphy clone waiting for him, the golden General Murphy’s lips were curled in a taunting manner.

Before Major Kai could react...

Gravity Pulse!

BOOM!

The force of gravity slammed into him like a sledgehammer as metal screamed around him. Stone detonated, the air folding in on itself as gravity became broken for 3 stolen seconds!

In those 3 seconds, Major Kai felt dissociated with reality.

One moment, he felt like he was carrying the weight of the entire world on his shoulders and it was crushing and the next, he felt as light and inconsequential as a lone leaf floating helplessly in a storm.

One moment, he was floating in the sky and the next, gravity already forced him to the ground!

KABOOM!

He was disoriented and in his disorientation, he was being rag-dolled as he fell from the sky on a plaza.

The plaza shattered upward as the ground caved in to form a crater, debris flew everywhere like bullets!

But as the rubble of the plaza flew into the sky, they were also affected by gravity as they hanged in the sky, trembled, and were caught between gravity, frozen in obedience in the sky while vibrating violently.

’F*CK... it’s so painful...!’ Major Kai thought in a daze as he noticed the golden Federation General already closing in on him. ’It’s so painful... maybe I should just die...’

But his allies were already coming, they wouldn’t let him die.

THUD... THUD... THUD...

The 5 meter tall Legendary Knight of Chaos was already moving as Major Mendez went all out, pouring his ADE into the Exosuit in waves.

With a thunderous BOOM!- over a dozen meters was erased in a single heartbeat as the mighty Exosuit accelerated and smashed it’s heavy Tower Shield at the golden Federation General!

BAM!

The shield hit the golden General first, smashing into his face with violent purple ADE flaring around it as the golden General tanked the attack and retaliated with a simple but devastating punch.

Just as the punch was thrown, purple ADE flared around the Exosuit.

Adaptive Armor!

BZZZ!

A thick purple armor covered the already armored Knight, converging and thickening towards the abdomen where the golden General’s punch was aimed at.

And then...

BANG!

With a loud and disorienting sound of impact, the adaptive armor screamed from the strain but by converging all its power towards one point, it held.

Then, the massive Exosuit spread its towering legs for leverage before swinging it’s Warhammer at the golden General!

Impact Surge!

The sky groaned and the air screamed as the Warhammer swung with unstoppable momentum, damage primed and ready to smash into the head of the golden General again, and then...

Silence.

Just before impact, the hammer forcibly stopped mere inches away from the General’s face.

BZZZ!

White and golden ADE swirled like a tsunami around the golden General.

Time froze in static even as dust grains hovered around the General like stars. His golden eyes flicked, not to the weapon but to its future, perceiving velocity, direction, and the outcome of the blow.

The General’s finger was already lifted, pointed at the Warhammer.

Chrono-Field Anchoring!

The local time rate was altered!

The Warhammer’s previously obliterating momentum slowed down to a crawl. The Tower Shield grew impossibly heavy as gravitational constant tilted it sideways, then...

Reality Constant: Force!

Force is mass times acceleration.

Force itself is not a reality constant, but by manipulating the reality constants of gravitational constant and the speed of light, General Murphy tapped into the energy of force and manipulated force itself.

As he punched, his fist seemed to carry the weight, acceleration, and force of the entire universe with it.

Instantly, the silence was shattered as sound returned all at once.

KABOOM!

Amid a powerful shockwave, the massive Exosuit was flung into the distance like a ragdoll, hurled through a collapsed transport hull!

The Exosuit suffered heavy damage as its flesh bled, its mechanical parts bleeding machinery.

The Adaptive Armor howled as the shield before it was shattered in that single blow, exposing the Exosuit as it hit the ground, rolled, and rose again, already compensating with Servo Reflex as his reaction speed doubled.

Major Mendez was already in the zone, desperate to save Major Kai and survive at the same time.

Even with how much damage the Exosuit already took, he was ready and primed for more battle.

But as Major Mendez stared from inside the Exosuit, suddenly from behind the golden General, 2 more golden temporal clones suddenly peeled into existence.

Different afterimages of the General stepped out of different seconds into reality. They looked at the Cyber Gladiator, then together their mechanical lips curled up into a taunting smirk.

Major Mendez despaired.

...

Major Mendez’s interference gave Major Kai the chance to escape certain death.

Neural Projection!

The 2 NetRunners evaded the pursuit of the other golden Generals and instead of rushing towards Mendez’s position to help him, they charged towards General Murphy’s main body.

They already realized that to survive, targeting the main body was the priority. The golden clones were redundant.

They didn’t move through space, they hopped through the psionic network, faster than thought and faster than the General expected.

They, they attacked.

Mind Distortion!

The brief disorientation was all the opening that they needed.

BAM!

Their daggers sank into the mechanical skull of General Murphy, crushing his skull as blood flowed like a river!

The General staggered, but for only half a second.

Time Loop!

Time looped, and he emerged unscathed, looking at both NetRunners with a smirk like a predator playing with its prey.

"Come on, you can do better," he taunted. "Try harder!"

Neural Projection!

Both NetRunners instantly disappeared before the expected counterattack of the General could come as blood began running from their noses, they were already pushing beyond their limits!

General Murphy stood untouched, temporal distortion rippling outward from him like a heat wave as he smirked.

Seeing the blood running from their noses, he laughed.

"You kids are too predictable," he grinned, then he vanished.

Phase Step!

BZZZ!

...

BAM!

Bleeding blood, synthetic oil, and machinery, the massive Exosuit finally caught the General’s real body mid-teleport in an extremely reckless maneuver!

The D Rank Cyber Gladiator went all in with the battered Exosuit’s Tower Shield going for the chest, while the Warhammer went for the spine of the General’s real body.

BOOOM!

The sky detonated and for one glorious moment, it worked.

General Murphy’s mechanical body was hit from the sky as he slammed into the ground hard enough to create a new crater!

Instantly, the now 13 temporal clones looked this way.

Major Mendez felt goosebumps erupt all over his skin as 13 Major Murphys looked at him but he didn’t stop as with his Adaptive Armor locking in again, the Exosuit’s servos screamed as it raised the massive Warhammer again.

Overdrive Mode!

Auto-Recoil Compensation!

The Warhammer descended, but there was no sound.

No explosions, no screams... only silence and breath.

Chrono-Field Anchoring!

General Murphy looked up with a taunting smile. "Too slow, too weak".

CRACK!

Time fractured!

Before the Legendary Knight of Exosuit could react, a golden clone stepped out of the Exosuit’s blind spot through Phase Step and drove a hand through the armor with little to zero resistance.

There was no piercing sound, no crushing... only True damage!

Spatial Rend!

General Murphy didn’t just aim, he aimed accurately to get to the Geneform that was hidden inside the massive Exosuit.

The Exosuit froze, its systems failing in a cascading stream of red and machinery as the violet shield protecting it shattered while the Warhammer fell from numb fingers.

CRKSH!

It was a critical hit.

The Exosuit fell apart, revealing the Cyber Gladiator inside and even he did not come out unscathed.

Having timed it to perfection due to his unreal perception, the golden General’s fist punched right through the heart of the Cyber Gladiator!

The destructive energy instantly caused a biological breakdown in the body of the Cyber Gladiator!

Major Mendez staggered as blood flowed from all his orifices as his vision blurred, then he collapsed to one knee.

His eyes looked up at the smiling golden General as his vision turned red.

’I’m dying...’ he realized.

In his final moments, Major Mendez felt no fear, he simply felt regret for not surviving longer.

"For the Freegrid Collective..." he muttered, then he fell forward.

Thud!

Major Mendez died.
