Reborn as a Weak Earthling, I Became the Most Overpowered Mage Alive-Chapter 100: Ch : Super Human Project - Part 1
"I am so happy to see that you and your party decided to accept my invitation. If you need anything, then please, do not hesitate to let me know."
Thief smiled back at Andrew and his party as he led them inside. His smile looked fake, but gentle enough to not be questioned.
He led them inside, past the long stretch of doors and right into the conference room where other leaders had been called. But unlike Andrew, they were not here in person.
"I shall take my leave now. There are a few things that I need to prepare for. I hope that today’s presentation will be able to change your mind and bring us closer toward our cooperation."
Thief told Andrew before he quickly headed toward the central stage. His actions looked confident, and his voice caught everyone’s attention.
"Everyone, thank you for coming here. It is my honor to welcome you all here. I believe that humanity is about to step into a new era, and for that purpose, I would like to introduce the people who will make that happen."
Thief announced, and the door behind him split open. The walls began to come down before a dozen or so young adults stood behind a glass door.
They were currently fighting against an obstacle course, and even without any ability, they were completing it without any problem.
"Let me welcome you to our very first ’super humans.’ With them by our side, we will no longer have to be the ones to brave these games all alone and be in danger of dying. These ’super soldiers’ will be able to protect anyone who is weak."
Thief announced, and there was sudden whispering all over the hall.
People were considering the worth of these super soldiers, and even Andrew felt interested. But just as Emperor had said, he could feel that there was something wrong with these super soldiers. But he could not put his finger on what it was.
"You are saying that these kids are much stronger than your average player? How can we believe your words? We want proof."
Someone spoke up, asking for proof. But Thief just smiled and turned toward Andrew. His smile made Andrew feel as if he had walked right into a trap.
"Of course I will give you the proof. Luckily, we have the perfect candidates to show it to us as well. Miss Seraphina, Master Mark, Master Emperor, would one of you care to come here and test our super soldiers?"
Thief asked, using their names deliberately so that no one would question the legitimacy of his claim. Their names were ones everyone knew. Especially since they were at the top of the leaderboard.
"He is trying to use us. Is that why he called for us?"
Seraphina asked, her voice cold and emotionless. She might sound detached from everyone and everything right now, but Andrew could hear her anger.
It would be a disaster if he allowed her to do as she pleased right now, so he quickly volunteered.
"Alright, I will be your test subject. I am interested to see what these ’super humans’ are capable of as well."
Andrew told him as he stepped forward. Thief smiled at him and welcomed him.
"Alright. Then please, follow me. This fight will be a simple one. I promise you that."
He told Andrew as he led him inside. Most of the other super humans had already been sent away, and only one remained standing in front of Andrew. He quickly looked at the information of his opponent.

’What the heck is this split? Now I see what Emperor meant when he said that something about these super humans felt wrong.’
"I am a little curious about these ’super humans.’ Where did they come from?"
Andrew asked Thief, wondering if he would tell Andrew the truth or not.
"These ’super humans’ were former abandoned kids. They would have died if we left them like this, so we asked for volunteers to test products to boost human limits. Luckily, we succeeded, and the kids grew up successfully. This is our first batch of kids, but we are improving them every day."
Andrew looked at Thief’s smiling face, laced with pride. He seemed to see nothing wrong with experimenting on kids for his own sake.
"So, these ’super soldiers’ of yours are human experiments?"
Andrew asked, and Thief chuckled.
"That is such a harsh word to say, but I guess you won’t find a better way to put it for now. However, it is for the sake of human survival. Even if we leave these kids be, they won’t have survived on their own. So why not give them a purpose and a chance to survive."
Andrew did not say much after that. He had nothing to say after that.
He just stepped inside the arena that had been prepared for him, and the kid immediately attacked him.
For a level 16, the kid was powerful. He seemed to know how to use his abilities to enhance his body.
Unfortunately, he had no battle knowledge and also seemed kind of dumb. So he fumbled his power around, never really hitting Andrew. But he did take a few hits from Andrew’s fists without flinching, and that was enough to make people curious.
"Alright, that is enough. Sean, you can stop now."
As soon as Thief commanded, the super human stopped fighting and turned calm. He seemed used to taking orders.
"You all saw this, right? This is our secret weapon against the system-our very own army. Soon, we will have an army huge enough to go against the system’s games. We will no longer be on the back foot."
Thief promised, but Andrew did not pay attention to him. Instead, he looked at the super human behind him, who looked blank like paper, stripped of free will.
