Reborn as a Weak Earthling, I Became the Most Overpowered Mage Alive-Chapter 99: Ch : Uninvited guests
"Let’s go in now. I am hungry, and I cannot wait to eat some real food for once. It has been so difficult to get our hands on some real food all this time." 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
The leader of the small party told Jenna, and she nodded.
"Ah yes, come with me. I will take you where we need to go."
There was a small safe house where food had been stored for emergencies. That was her destination, since Jenna was sure that someone as careless (even if he seemed to have changed) as Mark would not have touched that place.
As expected, the small side-mansion remained untouched, and she was able to make it her base along with the people she had brought.
The bed felt welcoming. Especially after she had been struggling to live all this time. Who knew where her mother and father were, and her house had already been seized by more powerful players.
She had been making do until now, but she could finally relax.
’This feels so good. I finally feel like I can close my eyes and go to sleep.’
Jenna knew it was dangerous for her to let her guard down, but she still felt her eyes closing, and before she knew it, she had fallen asleep.
She and her party slept the whole day away, and the next morning, they woke up, a lot more hungry than they expected.
"Miss Jenna, about the food-"
The leader asked her with expectant eyes, and Jenna felt like she had to find the food for them all.
Luckily, the storage house where food was stored was not too far away.
"I will get us some food. Please stay here in the meantime."
She told the party before she went to the storage house.
The food had been stored in a secret safe room, and she knew the way to get in there. She just hoped that Mark had not found it.
"Alright, Jenna, it is now or never..."
She reminded herself as she opened the storage unit. Something rushed toward her, causing her to protect her face with her arms.
Something forcefully slammed into her and pushed her back. She fell on her ass, but she was not injured beyond that.
When she opened her eyes, she saw a small pixie-like thing pushing her back. The small thing looked expressionless, but Jenna had a feeling she won’t be allowed inside unless she managed to convince the small thing that she was not harmful.
"I-I am not here to fight. I just want some food. I...am Mark Dawnson’s fiance. I have just as much access to this place as he does. I promise I won’t cause trouble."
Jenna promised, and the small pixie seemed to be considering her words. There was no human intelligence behind those eyes, and Jenna felt a little nervous.
Finally, the pixie decided she was not dangerous and allowed Jenna inside. So Jenna stepped inside and carefully made her way inside.
The storage was on the right side, and the pixie seemed to be guarding the left. Jenna made the mistake of looking to the left, only to see a kid sleeping there...no, not sleeping, but dead.
She could not see the chest rising and falling.
"A kid? I-Is he dead? D-Don’t tell me...gasp Does Mark have that kind of hobby?"
She questioned, but the pixie gave her a look that made her look away.
Whatever kind of hobby or reason Mark had for keeping a dead body in this storage unit, she did not want to know. She just knew that she needed to keep to herself, and she won’t be caught.
Thankfully, the stored food was still there and looked untouched. She was able to grab quite a lot and bring it back.
Her team praised her for the food and became even more convinced of her lies, and Jenna vowed to keep it going for as long as she could.

[Come join us at The Peace Cooperation. We will protect the future of humankind and create a new future for us all. Come join us to unveil a new future for mankind.]
"Wow, these people sure are active about advertising their cooperation now. They are gaining a lot of traction as well. Thief’s name is really selling after the last round."
Clara looked at the news with conflicting feelings. On one hand, she knew that The Peace Cooperation was doing a lot for people and helping those who were weak. But on the other hand, should it ever collapse, a lot of people would die even worse deaths.
Still, this cooperation was something the world needed. At least, for the time being.
"Are you interested?"
Seraphina asked from the other side of the room. Her blank expression made Clara nervous, and she immediately answered.
"I am a little curious, but not enough to join these people. What about you, Andrew? Did you not get an invite from them again? Didn’t they say something about a ’new power’ they have discovered?"
Clara asked, trying to shift the topic from herself and toward Andrew.
At her words, everyone else turned to look at Andrew as well, waiting for his decision.
"I will check it out. As much as I do not care for this cooperation, I am curious about what they are planning. What about you, Emperor? Do their actions ring a bell?"
Emperor had remained quiet for all this time, but he finally spoke up.
"Around this time, there was the emergence of ’super humans’. They were genetically enhanced humans with better overall stats compared to the others. Naturally, it did not take long for them to become the front-line fighters of humanity. The ones behind this were The Peace Cooperation. They created them before their downfall. That is all I know."
Emperor sounded conflicted about this topic.
"Super humans, huh? Aren’t we all super humans by definition?"
Lilianna tried to joke, but Emperor was not amused by it.
"You will only know what I mean if you see those ’super humans’ created by the Peace Organization. Despite their massive power, something just felt...off about them. Or maybe it was just me."
Andrew considered Emperor’s words and decided to see for himself. After all, he had accepted the invitation extended to him this time.
