Reborn as a Weak Earthling, I Became the Most Overpowered Mage Alive-Chapter 120: Ch : Vs the Snake - Part 1
[Ladder Snake level 35 has appeared]
[Time left in the last round: 5 min]
The huge snake slithered onto the last tile, and its body looked twice the size it originally was. Its eyes were locked onto Andrew with curiosity and a desire to swallow him whole.
But despite this, Andrew was not as scared of the situation as the player beside him was. Not only had the unknown player tensed up, but he had also gotten his weapon ready.
"What is going on here? Why is the boss’s level so high?"
The player asked as he looked at the overpowered boss in front of him. He was debating whether he should back out of this competition or not. The prize might be decent, but it was not worth losing his life over.
The snake did not give them any time to think and make a decision. It chose one direction and decided to slap its tail in that direction.
Both Andrew and the other player jumped back, and the snake immediately decided to go after Andrew.
The huge tail forced the other player to be pushed out of the tile, and the unnamed player cursed before he tried to head inside, only to be stopped by a barrier.
He smacked his hands on the barrier and even used his ability on it, but the barrier refused to budge.
"Hey, this is cheating. Allow me inside as well. I am not done yet."
The unnamed player yelled, but there was no one there to listen to his cries. In the end, the unnamed player could only sigh in frustration as he slowly realized that he would not be able to win this competition.
The only chance he had was if Andrew somehow died by the snake’s hands and he got the chance to enter the tile. So that was what he cheered for as well.
"Go for it, snake boss. Show that arrogant human who’s the boss."
The unnamed player had been a good human before these games started. He had never caused anyone harm, nor wanted anyone to be scared or hurt.
But these games and the system had brought out the worst in him, and now he had become someone who could do anything for his own profit. And that included even killing people.

The snake boss picked up pace, and its tail continued to smack the ground around Andrew to try and knock him off balance.
He was a little more defenseless compared to the previous rounds, but Andrew was not totally helpless.
Besides, he just needed to survive here for about 4 minutes and a few seconds more. He was sure he could make that happen. So he kept a careful eye on the snake boss and watched as it twisted and coiled itself before throwing its huge body toward Andrew.
He created a shield, but it broke on contact with the Ladder Snake.
’Tsk, the level difference is a little too much, even with all my buffs.’
Andrew gritted his teeth as he felt the snake’s tail suddenly collide with his middle and push him back. But he immediately broke his tumble and used a spell to propel himself to the right as the snake leapt toward him.
The Ladder Snake barely missed him by a few inches, and Andrew immediately used his mana to heal himself a little.
[Time left in this round: 3 minutes 5 seconds]
It felt like time was passing very slowly. Each second felt like an eternity, and Andrew kept a very close eye on the timer.
But in this game, even a few seconds could cost one heavily. The snake took advantage of Andrew checking the time and decided to make a grab for him.
Andrew braced himself as the snake opened its mouth and immediately bit down on Andrew’s staff. It tried to force it to break, but Andrew reinforced it with magic.
[Time left in this round: 2 minutes 40 seconds]
The time continued to tick down, and Andrew could feel the long day taking a strain on his energy resources.
’Darn this untrained body.’
He had come very far ever since the games started. But the time he had spent in his current body was not as much, and his constitution was not at the same peak he was used to in his past life (he doubted it would ever reach that level).
That was why issues like getting tired were a real hassle.
So he tried to reach for his bag to take out another potion. But the snake noticed him. And not only that, but it immediately struck Andrew with its tail from the side.
Andrew managed to create a small shield at the last second, but that was only able to protect him from a serious wound. The force behind it still struck him badly enough to break his concentration for a few seconds.
[Time left in this round: 2 minutes 2 seconds]
’Just a little more. I need to keep hanging on.’
Andrew reminded himself as he took a small sip of the potion and quickly rolled out of the snake’s way. It angered the snake, and it soon coiled its body around Andrew’s in a tight hold and squeezed him.
The lack of air caused Andrew to choke, and his concentration broke again for a few seconds.
But this time, someone tried to step onto the tile, and it distracted the Ladder Snake enough for Andrew to grab a small dagger and injure the snake.
It let out a rattled sound and dropped Andrew, and Andrew immediately formed a barrier to push the intruder out.
Once again, the unnamed player was forced out of the area, and the time continued to tick down.
[Time left in this round: 1 minute 27 seconds]
Andrew kept a very close eye on the timer, waiting for it to drop to 1 minute. Once that happened, he would be able to use his secret weapon if he really needed to do so.
Unfortunately, the snake was not making it easy for him.
