Chapter 237 - A Bizzare Date!

Two hours later, at the Caffali Restaurant...

Maruti was already there, sitting alone at a table by the window. Even though she had no real interest in going on this date, she was still the first one to arrive.

It wasn't because she was excited or eager—no, not at all. The truth was, the other two girls were just late.

She sighed as she sipped on some cold juice, trying to ignore the stares she was getting from other customers. Many people—boys and girls alike—kept glancing at her, pretending to look elsewhere whenever she made eye contact.

But Maruti didn't care.

Her outfit today wasn't planned. She didn't dress up like most girls do for a date. She simply grabbed the first clothes she saw in her closet. But even so, her natural beauty made her look stunning and clothes also turned out to be a little erotic.

She wore an off-shoulder crop top, and one side of it hung loosely, showing the black strap of her bra. Her shorts were very short—low-rise denim that barely covered half of her thighs. The small straps of her panties peeked out slightly from the sides, and shorts even showed some cleavage on both sides. Her long legs were completely visible.

Despite having mastery on cosmetic, Make-up and Dressing thanks to her visiting red light district so many times, She was still a guy inside, She could do make-up to others but for herself? Even though she knew, Guys uses skin care and all that stuff too but still A big no..no.

Despite how revealing the outfit was, it didn't feel uncomfortable at all. In fact, it was easy to move in. Maruti was sure she could do a few backflips if she wanted.

Still, she kept her cool and ignored the looks. She leaned back in her chair and looked out the window, resting her chin on her hand.

"What's taking them so long", she thought with a bored expression.

Finally, the restaurant door opened—and both Kailith and Alice entered at the same time.

Kailith looked like she was ready for a morning run. She wore a grey crop top and matching shorts, with simple white sneakers. Her long silver hair was tied back into a ponytail. It wasn't fancy, but it showed off her athletic figure.

Alice, on the other hand, looked like a innocent fairy. She wore a soft blue gown like frock that reached her knees. It had a smooth flow, making her look gentle and elegant. She had matching earrings and a thin silver necklace. Her light makeup made her already pretty face glow even more.

But... they were arguing.

"We're watching Obsessed Villainess," Kailith said firmly, walking beside Alice.

"No way. She'll hate that dark stuff," Alice replied. "We're watching I Love Countess. I've seen it so many times—it's the best GL romance ever."

Kailith rolled her eyes. "You don't understand. Obsessed Villainess is a deep love story. The villainess locks up her lover, Catherine, not because she's cruel, but because she wants to protect their time together. It's romantic in a twisted way."

"It shows obsession can be a good thing to build long term relationship till death, There's no need to feel guilty about being obsessed!",

Alice frowned. " I Love Countess is sweet and soft—the Countess falls in love slowly, they have tea dates, and there's a beautiful kiss in the rain. Maruti will love that."

"Obsessed Villainess," Kailith repeated, raising her voice slightly.

"I Love Countess," Alice shouted back, just as loud.

People in the restaurant turned their heads to see the two girls fighting, but they didn't care. They kept walking forward, still arguing, until they reached Maruti's table.

Maruti sighed deeply as she watched the two girls bicker.

The moment Alice and Kailith saw Maruti sitting at the table, both of them stopped arguing instantly. Their eyes widened, and their mouths slightly dropped open.

Maruti raised an eyebrow and glared at them. "What?!" she snapped, thinking they were challenging her to a fight or something. Her sharp eyes gave off the feeling that she was ready to throw hands if needed.

Kailith, standing stiffly, crossed one arm over the other, almost like she was holding herself back from reaching out to touch Maruti's exposed thighs. Her face was slightly red, and she looked away awkwardly.

Alice was no better. She had the same kind of nervous expression and sat down quickly in front of Maruti, trying not to stare too much.

"Uhh... nothing!" Alice muttered as she pulled her chair closer to the table and looked down to hide her face.

The table they chose was round, and the seats were single chairs. Since the table wasn't big, no one could sit right next to Maruti. Kailith took the chair to Maruti's right side, while Alice sat directly in front of her.

Kailith cleared her throat and asked politely, "What would you like to eat?"

Maruti looked at the menu and shrugged. "Anything that's spicy," she answered casually.

Kailith nodded and waved over the waiter. She ordered a spicy meat dish along with a cold drink. She sat up straight and tried to act proper, like she was following some royal rulebook.

Then, in a soft voice, Kailith said, "As part of dating etiquette, it's polite to bring a gift. Not something too expensive or too cheap—just a small present to show your feelings and sincerity."

She reached into her bag and pulled out a long, beautiful wooden box. She opened it slowly in front of Maruti, her silver eyes watching for a reaction.

Maruti's eyes sparkled for a second. "Is that... a sword? A legendary one?" she asked excitedly, leaning forward in her seat.

She felt a little surprised but also impressed. Maybe Kailith wasn't just a spoiled noble. Maybe all her spying and following had helped her learn what Maruti liked.

But the moment Kailith opened the box completely, Maruti's smile dropped.

"Black... stockings?" she said with a blank face.

Kailith nodded proudly. "Yes! The most expensive silk black stockings! Very soft and stretchy. One pair costs twenty silver coins—I bought four!"

"Eighty silver coins? For just stockings?" Maruti was stunned. Even though she had a lot of money, that still sounded crazy expensive. That was like the monthly pay of a well-off merchant or officer.

Then again, she remembered that silk was rare and very valuable in this world, especially for clothing. So maybe Kailith wasn't being wasteful—just generous.

Kailith gently placed the stockings in Maruti's hands. "Make sure to wear them tomorrow," she said seriously. "You don't have to wash them. Just give them back to me after wearing. I'll wash them myself and return them to you. Just wear them every day."

Maruti's lips twitched. "Are you sure you're not planning to do something weird with them?" she wanted to ask, but decided to stay quiet. She just gave a half-smile and placed the box on the table.

Alice, on the other hand, was biting her nails, her eyes full of fire as she glared at Kailith.

"This lizard," Alice thought angrily, "She's trying to buy Maruti's love with money!"

Alice also brought a gift, but it was much simpler than Kailith's.

"I brought an enlightenment flower," Alice said softly as she took out a small, glowing flower from her bag. "It's a rare flower found only in the far south. It blooms just once a year. It's a symbol of loyalty and strong emotional bonds."

She handed the flower to Maruti with both hands, blushing a little as she did.

Kailith's eyes narrowed slightly. She stared at the flower, already knowing what was about to happen. And just like she expected...

Maruti looked at the flower for a second—then popped it into her mouth and swallowed it in one bite.

Alice gasped. "Huh?!"

Maruti blinked and answered calmly, "What? I didn't bring any gift either."

Alice looked heartbroken, her mouth opening and closing as she tried to say something. But Kailith just chuckled softly and leaned back.

"There's no need for you to," Kailith said with a teasing smile.

Just then, the waiter came over, carrying the food on a big tray.

"The food is here!" Kailith said, as the delicious smell filled the air. All three girls looked at the dishes with different expressions.

"Open your mouth, I'll feed you!" Alice said cheerfully, holding a spoonful of food close to Maruti's lips.

Maruti let out a soft sigh. "I guess I should just play along..." she mumbled under her breath. She leaned forward and gently took the spoon into her mouth, chewing slowly before swallowing.

"Mine too!" Kailith said excitedly, already holding out her own spoon like a child waiting for a treat.

Maruti blinked. "You too?" she muttered, but she didn't refuse. She leaned over and took a bite from Kailith's spoon as well.

Then, out of nowhere, Kailith opened her mouth and leaned forward like a baby bird. "Feed me too!" she said eagerly.

Maruti stared at her for a second, then gave another long sigh. "Okay, okay..."

She still had some food on her own spoon, so she carefully moved it toward Kailith, who happily ate it while looking completely satisfied.

Maruti was expecting Alice to ask the same, but when she turned her head, a cold shiver ran down her spine.

Alice wasn't asking to be fed.

No—she was doing something far more disturbing.

Alice was holding her own spoon—the same one Maruti had eaten from—and licking it slowly, sensually, like she was savoring every tiny bit of taste it held.

"An indirect kiss... an indirect kiss...!" Alice mumbled under her breath, her cheeks flushed red as she licked the spoon clean with embarrassing passion.

Maruti's lips twitched. Her body froze for a moment.

"So creepy... People are looking, you idiot!" she screamed inside her head, but couldn't bring herself to actually say it aloud.

She picked up her own spoon and began eating quietly, trying to ignore whatever Alice was doing next. Kailith, meanwhile, didn't touch her food for a moment. Her eyes were locked on Maruti.

To Kailith, it felt like time had slowed down.

The way Maruti took gentle bites, how her lips moved and her tongue rolled slightly to taste the food... even the little moments where she pushed back a stray strand of hair behind her ear—everything looked so beautiful, so charming, so perfect.

Kailith gulped.

A bit of drool formed at the corner of her mouth.

She had to force herself not to lean forward and bite Maruti instead of eating the actual food.

Kailith shifted her gaze to Alice, who was sneakily glancing at Maruti again and again, shyly.

Then, finally, Kailith picked up her spoon and started eating, though her mind was somewhere else.

"I've been having these weird headaches lately," she thought while chewing slowly. "And before I knew it... I could hear people's thoughts, just like my mother could. It's not clear or strong all the time... and I haven't gotten used to it yet."

"It feels like something sharp poking inside my brain... not painful, but definitely uncomfortable."

She looked at Maruti again, her heart beating faster.

"Should I... should I try to hear her thoughts?" she wondered. "What if she doesn't say it out loud but actually... likes me?"

But there was a risk.

What if Maruti was cursing her in her mind? What if she actually hated Kailith?

That would hurt.

Still, Kailith made up her mind. It didn't matter whether Maruti liked her or not. Kailith had already accepted one truth—she liked Maruti. That was real.

So she focused, staring carefully at Maruti, her silver pupils widening just a bit as she tuned in.

Then finally... Maruti's thoughts started to echo in her mind, soft and clear like a whisper in the wind.

"Hmm... If Cinderella's dress, her carriage, everything was made from magic and supposed to disappear after midnight... then why didn't her shining glass heels disappear too?"

"Wait, even more importantly... If those heels fit her perfectly, then how did one fall off so easily?

"So amusing... How has no one ever asked this before?"
