Chapter 504: From Guns to Blades ( 504 )
Javier patted Buddy’s side lightly, signaling him to slow.
“Alright, Buddy,” Javier said calmly, his sharp eyes scanning the road ahead. “We have to make a stop first.
If we leave this area unattended, it’ll cause more problems for the civilians later.”
Cuquawked!
Buddy squawked in firm agreement, stomping his heavy legs and slowing to a ready trot.
Without wasting a second, Javier leapt off Buddy’s back, landing smoothly on the dirt road.
His right hand raised sharply into the air.
Mana flared around him.
“Summon White Puppet Knights!”
In an instant, twenty gleaming figures materialized around him.
White armor, polished like ivory, caught the last rays of the setting sun.
Each knight carried a white ore sword and shield, humming faintly with reinforced magic.
The knights’ hollow eyes flashed with cold, mechanical life.
Javier pointed forward without hesitation.
“Command: Kill the miasma.”
“Affirmative.”
With flawless coordination, the White Puppet Knights charged forward, their heavy boots pounding the earth in unison.
They struck first.
Blades flashed in synchronized arcs, cleaving through the black, corrupted monsters with brutal precision.
Each strike was clean.
Each movement efficient.
There was no wasted motion.
The miasma monsters tried to resist, growling, lunging, clawing. But the white puppets moved like a tide, shields braced, swords cutting, formation perfect.
Javier stayed back, calm and sharp-eyed.
He smoothly raised his mana gun.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Each shot cracked the air, clean and sharp.
One monster lunged from the side.
Javier didn’t even flinch.
He shifted his stance slightly, aimed without looking.
Bang!
A perfect headshot.
The creature’s body collapsed mid-air, disintegrating into dark mist before it even touched the ground.
Buddy flapped his wings proudly nearby, watching the battle unfold.
More dark beasts poured from the forest edges but they were met by the relentless steel of Javier’s puppets.
The battle field danced with white and black flashes, puppets cleaving down monsters, while Javier’s mana bullets pierced any that slipped through.
The white knights cut down the corrupted swarm with a ruthless.
“This is fun!! Stress relief!!”
Javier laughed out loud, his voice carried by the rushing wind.
Cuquawked?
Buddy tilted his head, flapping his wings lightly while running.
( You can just use your white light skill to purify this area… why bother shooting them? )
Javier chuckled, reloading his mana gun with a sharp click.
“Ah… for fun,” he answered casually, a wide grin spreading across his face.
He tapped Buddy’s neck lightly.
“Let me shoot and blast these creepy monsters a bit before using the ultimate skill.
Come on, Buddy… don’t spoil the mood!”
Cuquawked…
Buddy squawked in helpless agreement, speeding up slightly to match Javier’s energy.
Ahead, more small groups of dark miasma monsters began crawling out from the broken tree lines, drawn to the disturbance.
Javier raised his mana gun again, eyes gleaming with sharp focus.
“Alright… Next batch!”
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Shots rang out cleanly, each bullet of pure mana slicing through the corrupted creatures with surgical precision.
Buddy weaved and dashed through the battlefield like a seasoned warhorse, allowing Javier to maintain perfect aim even while moving at high speed.
Miasma monsters fell like autumn leaves in a storm.
Explosions of black mist erupted across the clearing as Javier blasted enemy after enemy.
A low hum started vibrating in the air.
But he still held back his true power.
Not yet.
Not until he had enough fun clearing them the old-fashioned way.
Another monster lunged from the side.
Without even looking, Javier fired a single shot straight into the beast’s mouth.
“This is what we call life, Buddy!!”
Javier shouted happily, wind whipping past his face as Buddy charged through the ruined battlefield.
“If I purify everything with White Light magic… come on, where’s the fun in that?!”
Cuquawked…
Buddy answered with a long-suffering squawk, his tone clearly saying: (Whatever you say, crazy master.)
Javier just laughed louder, lifting his mana gun high as they tore through the scattered groups of dark monsters.
“Hyaaarrr!! This is nice!!”
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Each shot burst through the night like a thunderclap.
Black miasma creatures shrieked and disintegrated one after another, unable to even touch the dashing pair.
Buddy darted left, dodging a collapsing tree.
Javier fired two shots mid-turn blasting two lunging monsters right out of the air.
The synchronized movement between them was perfect.
Buddy wasn’t just a mount.
He was Javier’s battle partner.
Javier spun the gun in his hand again, reloading smoothly with a click.
“Come on, monsters!” Javier yelled gleefully. “At least make it a little challenging!”
More monster just kept coming — crawling, sprinting, screaming — only to fall one by one under Javier’s precise shots.
Their dark mist was thick in the air now.
But Javier didn’t slow down.
The night might have been full of corruption.
This was freedom.
Pure, unrestrained battle.
The kind of moment that made his blood sing and his heart race.
Bang!
Another shot.
Another monster down.
“This…” Javier grinned wider, spinning his mana gun one last time before slipping it smoothly back into his magic storage.
“This is a corrupt monster born from celestial filth.”
He cracked his neck lightly.
“Perfect for training!! Perfect for experience!! Perfect for leveling up!!”
He spun in the saddle, laughing slightly, adrenaline rushing through his veins.
“Yummy yum yum!!” he joked darkly.
Buddy let out a squawk that somehow sounded like a sigh.
Javier pointed his finger forward dramatically.
“Alright, Buddy!! Let’s kick it up a notch!
I’m switching to swords. You use your White Ore Talons!”
Cuquawked!!!
Buddy answered with full excitement, his claws scraping the ground, glowing faintly with mana reinforcement.
Javier reached into his magic storage.
Shing!
He drew out his twin blades.
One forged from pure White Ore.
The other, a heavy and brutal Andamantite sword
Twin swords gleaming like twin stars under the darkened sky.
Javier grinned.
“Alright… Here we go.”
And then, he vanished.
Javier’s twin blades swept through the field like a silent, unstoppable storm.
Slash! Slash! Slash!
With every movement, monsters dissolved into black mist.
In a heartbeat
All twenty dark monsters were simply gone.
Wiped from existence.
The field fell completely silent, save for the faint whisper of mist dispersing into the cold air.
Javier stood in the middle of the clearing, twin swords lowered casually at his sides.
Javier rolled his shoulders lightly, cracking his neck again.
“Hmm… Not even a warm-up,” he muttered.
He flicked both swords outward with a sharp motion, shaking off the last traces of miasma.
Buddy stomped once, his talons gleaming clean again.
Together, they stood.
Man and mount alone on a purified battlefield, with only the chill night wind whispering around them.
