Reborn As Noble-Chapter 677: The Elven Wedding ( )
Chapter 677: The Elven Wedding ( 677 )
The morning sun filtered through the layered leaves of the towering elven trees, casting dappled light across the grand courtyard of the Sylvaris estate.
Today was the day.
The bride’s family manor brimmed with life. Servants bustled about, floral garlands hung from balcony rails, and the aroma of elven pastries wafted through the air.
Guests in flowing robes and noble attire had begun to arrive, each greeted with a blend of grace and cheerful celebration.
The groom’s entourage had just reached the estate gates.
A hush fell over the crowd as the elegantly adorned convoy pulled in—graceful elven mounts, floating carriages, and a large Pekko at the rear.
Gloria sat tall atop Peanut, her fan held lightly in one hand.
She wore a flowing silver-green elven dress embroidered with feather motifs. It shimmered faintly under the morning light, subtly harmonizing with her usual poised aura. Though she lacked the pointed ears and long, delicate features of her older brothers, her elegance was unmistakable.
Behind her, two of her eldest brothers rode side by side—tall, sharp-eyed elves with flawless posture, their expressions as unreadable as marble statues. The rest of the Carqirelle sons followed in formation, exuding noble grace and silent strength.
At the front of the entourage, her father, Minister Sythaeryn Carqirelle, walked with practiced confidence. Beside him, arm-in-arm, was his wife—Genevieve—bubbling with energy in a pink and gold dress.
"Dear, smile properly," she whispered, nudging her husband’s arm with a wink. "You’re the groom’s father today~ At least pretend you’re not worried he’ll pass out on the altar!"
Sythaeryn let out a restrained sigh, his expression as calm as always. "I’m not worried. I’m merely... anticipating."
"You’re worried," Genevieve grinned, swaying beside him like a schoolgirl.
From her mount, Gloria watched her parents in silence, lips twitching into a faint smile.
Still as lovey-dovey as ever, she thought, gently stroking Peanut’s feathers.
In the center of the courtyard, a soft murmur spread as the noble guests began to rise from their seats in respect. For standing at the head of the bride’s family, under a decorated canopy of luminous vines, was none other than the Queen of the Elven Kingdom—
Mylezra Shalheira Sylvaris.
Nearby, standing tall and composed, was the father of the bride, Rhalyf Loraneiros Sylvaris, his eyes glistening with quiet pride. Beside him stood Azariah, the bride, graceful beneath her delicate elven veil.
Just ahead of them, at the ornate gate entwined with blooming flowers, stood Lyzia, her silver hair shimmering in the morning light as she clutched her basket tightly, excitement barely contained.
Close by, Liana stood quietly beside her sisters, Qamara and Enania, each holding a flower basket of their own. The sisters smiled softly, exchanging warm glances, their hearts synchronized by the joy and anticipation flowing through the air.
Gloria, still seated atop Peanut near the rear of the groom’s entourage, caught Liana’s gaze and waved gently, smiling warmly.
Liana’s eyes brightened as she returned the gesture with a small wave and a soft, graceful nod.
But Gloria’s attention was soon drawn elsewhere.
Her oldest brother, Edwyrd—the proud groom himself—was clearly struggling to maintain his composure. Despite his best efforts, tiny beads of sweat had already formed on his temple, and his eyes flickered nervously around the courtyard.
A mischievous glint appeared in Gloria’s eyes as she leaned toward him.
"Ara~? Nervous, big brother?"
Edwyrd flinched instantly, shooting her a frantic glare. "S-sh...shut up, Gloria...ugh!" he whispered, voice stumbling embarrassingly.
Behind them, the other Carqirelle brothers chuckled quietly, clearly amused by their eldest brother’s pitiful state.
"Never imagined our mighty eldest brother would be shaking in his boots like this~" one of them teased.
Another brother smirked, elbowing Edwyrd lightly. "Careful not to faint before you say your vows, Edwyrd."
Edwyrd grit his teeth. "You guys... shut it! Especially you, Gloria!"
Gloria merely covered her smile with her palm, eyes sparkling with delight.
"Now, now," she said softly, voice dripping sweetness, "We’re just worried for you~"
Edwyrd sighed deeply, visibly deflating as his siblings continued to mercilessly tease him.
Watching from the other side, Liana tilted her head slightly, suppressing a gentle laugh. Seeing Gloria’s family acting this way felt familiar.
"Ahh," she murmured under her breath, a gentle smile tugging at her lips. "It seems the Carqirelle family isn’t so different from ours."
Beside her, Qamara and Enania giggled softly, overhearing her quiet remark.
"Yes~ It seems chaos is common among elves, isn’t it?" Enania whispered, earning amused nods from both Qamara and Liana.
At the gate, Lyzia bounced lightly on her toes, glancing back toward Liana.
"Sister Liana, Sister Azariah! Can we start soon?" she called quietly, barely able to contain her excitement.
Liana exchanged a warm look with Azariah, who nodded gently beneath her veil.
"Yes, Lyzia," Liana replied softly, her voice calm yet warm. "We’ll start soon."
Azariah took a deep breath, squeezing her father’s arm slightly for support. Rhalyf smiled quietly, patting her hand gently, silently reassuring his eldest daughter.
With all eyes settling on Queen Mylezra once more, the courtyard slowly fell quiet again, a gentle silence filled only by the rustling leaves and distant humming of magical songbirds.
The groom climbed down from his mount first, his family gracefully following suit. Their servants swiftly stepped forward, quietly guiding away each elegant creature.
Except for one.
Peanut refused to budge. Her bright eyes immediately landed on Pikko, who was contentedly basking in the morning sunlight beside the courtyard. Recognizing her fellow fluffy companion, Peanut began chirping excitedly, fluffing up her feathers in anticipation.
Liana noticed immediately, shaking her head gently with a knowing smile.
Edwyrd took his first step forward—slowly, awkwardly, his nerves painfully obvious to everyone present.
Ahead of him, Lyzia, brimming with excitement, began her flower-girl march, scattering delicate petals with practiced elegance.
Liana stepped forward quietly to join Gloria, blending seamlessly into the groom’s entourage from behind. Gloria glanced sideways and leaned slightly closer, whispering discreetly behind her fan.
"I wonder if the young master will show up~?"
Liana shook her head subtly, her polite smile unchanged. "No...he shouldn’t be here."
"Hmm? Why?" Gloria asked softly, her tone curious.
Liana’s gentle expression tightened slightly, her voice lowering even further. "Do you have any idea what my family wanted to know after you left yesterday?"
"Eh?" Gloria blinked, puzzled. "What is it?"
"They asked about the Armand family," Liana murmured, voice filled with thinly-veiled annoyance. "Specifically...Lord Garius’s sons. All the handsome ones."
Gloria’s eyes widened in surprise. "What!?"
Liana nodded quietly, sighing beneath her smile. "So I had to tell them all about Master Marcellus, Master Cedric, Master Aelius, and Master Heres. Do you remember when Master Marcellus was sent here to help clear out the miasma?"
"Yes, I remember," Gloria whispered, her eyes thoughtful. "What about it?"
"Apparently," Liana said, her voice dropping lower, "every elven girl here went crazy over how handsome he was. They couldn’t stop talking about him...until they learned he stopped at the dark elf village instead. And to make things worse, he ended up with both Lithia and her mother, Harny. Let’s just say the gossip wasn’t exactly happy about that."
Gloria’s expression shifted to one of understanding, nodding softly. "Ahh..."
"And it gets worse," Liana continued softly, glancing sideways at her mother, Viessa, who stood proudly among the Sylvaris family. "They even asked why I didn’t mention Young Master Javier, especially after Aunt Mylezra mentioned him to Mother."
"What did you say?" Gloria asked anxiously.
"I simply told them he was still a child, so there wasn’t much point mentioning him yet."
Gloria exhaled slowly, relief evident on her face. "Thank goodness... Imagine if the young master actually came here."
Liana’s smile turned slightly bitter, her eyes narrowing. "Exactly. It’d be absolute chaos."
