Now that Michael knew what had happened, he was suddenly seeing things in a completely new perspective.

Now, he saw Aubility Power threads spreading from the dapper man’s chest all over the room. It permeated everything like an overgrown vineyard.

But the spiderweb-like vines weren’t touching any of them at all. The Aubility Power threads made sure to steer clear away from Sheina, Castelle, Yuna and himself.

Otherwise, they would have already felt the insidious, creeping effects of the dapper man’s Diva.

But no. He only affected the environment that they were in. He was changing the entire room in order to make everyone feel a sense of unease, making them feel unnerved.

Even though this was the Reborn Headquarters, the dapper man was making it so that Castelle and the others were feeling out of their place.

If they were more anxious, then they were much more willing to take the bait that he was giving out.

By making them more afraid of the Conglomerates, he could paint himself and his company as their saviour. They were the magnanimous entity who was going to generously open their arms wide to help them.

If Michael didn’t know that this was happening, the dapper man could have easily convinced them to give the automobiles for half the price, or worse, for free!

Michael was completely shocked by this. He never knew that Aubility Powers could work this way.

This kind of power was useless in a fight. Since it couldn’t affect the actual person, then they couldn’t do anything against a simple punch. In fact, even a 1st stage fighter could defeat this guy in a duel.

"So? What do you think? Let’s fight against the monopoly. Together," the dapper man said, giving his hand for Castelle to take.

Michael saw Castelle’s face filled with consternation. She was in a dilemma.

He could see her trying to fight her own hand from accepting the dapper man’s invitation.

He was going to intervene if he had to. He was in the 7th stage, and she was in the 1st stage.

But surprisingly, Castelle took back her own hand. She forcefully kept it back in her pockets.

"I’m sorry, but we refuse. The Reborn company sticks by our decision," she decisively said.

The dapper man’s smile froze for a second, not expecting her to reject his invitation.

"Are you sure? We cannot let the Conglomerates get ahead. They will swallow your company."

Castelle shook her head. "Reborn will prevail."

After the dapper man left, the tension in the room was immediately alleviated. Castelle and Sheina both heaved a sigh of relief.

"What... was that?" Sheina asked.

Yuna crossed her arms. "That was an Upper Echelon. Their Aubility Powers are terrifying."

Today, they got a taste of why the Upper Echelons were considered to be the elites of the elite.

Michael had a feeling that the dapper man wasn’t the only non-combat Maugnetic they had on their roster. It finally made sense as to why they were so feared among the Lower Echelons.

"Castelle, how did you resist that guy’s Aubility Power?"

The maid CEO looked at her hands. "I couldn’t, Young Master. Everything in my body was telling me that what he was saying was correct. And that we should follow what he was saying.

But the Reborn in my mind was resisting. I had a feeling that accepting that man’s request would end up hurting Reborn tremendously. That was how I was able to resist it."

Thanks to Castelle’s connection to Reborn, she was able to feel the potential ’injury’ that they would receive upon accepting the dapper man’s invitation. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have known she would have made a wrong decision.

"I’m... sorry," Castelle said, pained.

"Don’t worry. You did fine. I’m actually surprised that you were able to resist it."

Castelle looked at her own hands. It was still shivering.

Michael was going to console her, but Castelle suddenly raised her head and looked forwards.

"I... I’m angry. I’m angry that they tried to do that. I’m angry that I was powerless to stop it."

Then, she turned to Michael.

"Today, we were disrespected. The Upper Echelons were treating us as nothing more than a piece of feed. Something that they can consume to make themselves fatter.

And... It’s my fault. Young Master, you’ve given me the position as the CEO, but I haven’t done anything to make the Reborn company prosper the way that it should.

I want to change that. I will change that. The Reborn company will flourish under my hands."

Michael, Yuna, and Sheina smiled as they saw the visible change in Castelle. There was a sense of confidence within her that they had never seen before.

She was focused like a business man, but not ruthless. She still had that maternal heart of a maid as if the Reborn company was her ward. And she was going to protect it and make it flourish no matter what.

And suddenly, Michael felt something stir within his shadow inventory.

A smile broke out on his face.

He raised his hand and summoned a tenebrous shadow on the ground.

Then a second later, flaming metallic drops of GodForge shot out into the air, inundating the air with Aubility Power.

The drops were so moved by Castelle’s change that they were knocking at his shadow inventory to let them out. They were allured by her.

The flaming GodForge pieces shot to Castelle’s heart, covering the surface of her heart even more.

Michael watched as her cultivation soared from the 1st stage, all the way to the 3rd stage!

The suited businesswoman goddess above her chuckled silently, before leaning back on her ornate chair.

Castelle stood up.

"Young Master. If we want retribution for how those upper echelons treated us, then we shall make their fears come true. Let us empower the Conglomerates."
