Reborn for Revenge: Find her Fated Alpha-Chapter 103: The vision
As soon as the lady touched Amelia’s hand, a flashback of fire and forests roamed through her head.
She stumbled back in pain, holding her head.
"What did you do?" She asked, tears spilling from her eyes.
It almost felt like someone was hammering her head from inside while her mark burned like someone was lighting a candle against it.
"Reminding you where your roots come from," The lady before her smiled.
Amelia’s body hit the shelf, and the chemicals that were placed on it fell on the ground, the containers breaking.
A weird chemical smoke started to erupt from the mixing of various chemicals.
Amelia’s breathing turned into gasping for air as her vision turned dark, and before she knew, she fell into a deep slumber.
In that slumber, she found herself in a forest.
It was daytime, unlike the night she had expected from the images that had invaded her mind.
"You think you can bewitch us with your ways? We are not fools,"
A group stood around a pole on which a woman was tied.
She was hanging from the pole, her hands tied to the top of it.
The scattered pebbles around her foot and her bleeding skin indicated what she had been subjected to before Amelia arrived.
Her brows furrowed.
She knew it was a dream. A vision that the lady wanted her to see.
And thus, she calmed her heart a little.
She walked around, unsure if the people could feel her.
However, no one paid heed to her, and they clearly couldn’t see her.
She looked at the lady’s face and found it oddly familiar, like she had seen this lady somewhere.
She was hanging with her eyes closed, dejection and pain evident on her face.
Amelia looked at the people and noticed they looked like ancient people, not just ancient folks, but werewolves and vampires.
They were pointing at the lady and cursing at the same time.
What did the lady do for them to hate her to this level?
As if the lady could feel her presence, she opened her eyes and looked straight at her.
Amelia jerked at the sensation that crept up her body. It was as if the lady was peering into her soul, sending a message that she needed to deliver through her.
Her breath hitched before the lady averted her gaze and looked at the people.
"Believe me. I didn’t do anything. She was about to die either way. I tried to extend her life, but the demonic possession on her body didn’t leave her. She was rotting inside and—" Tears spilled from the lady’s eyes.
"Do you think we will believe you?" One of the men said. Amelia noticed that two men were the most active in hurting the woman as they hurled insults at her.
Who were they talking about? Who died?
"Believe me. I am your mate. I am the one who loves you deeply and wants to save you–" The lady started again, but the men spat at her.
"We will never believe you even in 1000 years. You are a bad omen who took away our happiness and shall pay for it. She was ours, our mate, and you killed her," the man in black royal cloak said before he nodded at a few people.
Amelia looked at the group as they proceeded to throw burning torches at the lady, making her scream in agony as her body burned.
But that wasn’t the end of it.
"Sir, we found this with the lady. It appeared, the demon possessing her had been as old as her and –"
It was a charm used to change identities and make people believe in whatever the person holding it wanted.
Amelia had never seen that charm in her life, but she knew that for some reason, in this vision.
"And everything we felt was what the demon wanted us to," the men said simultaneously.
The realization dawned upon them, and they rushed to the pole to extinguish the fire.
However, it was too late. The lady was long dead. She was burned to death, and they held her burned body in their hands.
"Ashley, open your eyes, please. We are sorry. We will make it up for it. You always thought in our best interest, but that demonic possession blinded us. It seemed you were our true mate all this time and –", the men wailed in agony.
Everyone mourned the death of the same person they were hurling insults at earlier. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
"This is our karmic debt to you, Ashley. In our next lifetime, we will love you and protect you. Just give us one more chance," the man said.
Amelia saw the soul drifting into nothingness. But that wasn’t the only thing that happened that day.
The large rock of the mage’s power broke into two halves, and the mages lost their identity as the strongest power consumers and were most respected as the night creatures.
Tears rolled down Amelia’s cheeks as she looked at everything happening before her. It appeared like a movie scene, but for some reason, she could feel the deep pain that the lady held.
Her heart clenched terribly, and it almost felt like someone was squeezing it.
"Amelia! Amelia! Amelia!"
She heard someone calling her name, and her eyelids trembled as she broke from her deep slumber, tears rolling from the corner of her eyes as soon as she opened them.
Amelia looked at the unfamiliar face that was looking at her like someone expecting a test case.
"She is awake," The man announced before he leaned back, and Amelia noticed him wearing the hospital coat.
The surroundings registered in her mind, and she realized she was in the University’s infirmary.
Her brows furrowed, and she tried to sit, but as soon as she did that, she felt a weird burning sensation in her body and looked at her hand, which had a deep burn mark.
"What happened? How did you feel unconscious in that pile of acid? If Aaron hadn’t been passing from below the backside of the building and seen all that smoke, your entire body would’ve been burned," Someone said.
However, Amelia’s attention was somewhere else.
Now, she remembered that touch. She was the lady she had seen in that dream of those hooded figures chanting something.
When she had followed the chants and entered the forest in her dream, one of the hooded figures had come close to her and held her hand.
She felt that burning sensation for the first time, and she has been bearing this mark since.
She was the same lady from that dream, the exact hooded figure.
But why did she appear now? And what was all that vision?
There was no doubt she was a witch or someone with similar powers. But why would a person like that make her see such a vision?
And what was with that ancient history?
She tried to remember the bits of that vision and sat straight.
"I fell," She said.
"You fell?" Ryan asked.
Amelia nodded.
"I felt my blood sugar dropping suddenly because I probably forgot my breakfast. My foot got burned earlier when HCl fell on it and I was distracted. My foot hit the corner, and pained terribly in my dizziness. Before I knew it, I stumbled on the shelf and fell." Amelia cooked a half lie, half truth.
Ryan looked into her eyes and could feel she was hiding something. It was written all over her face.
The way her eyes were darting around, like she wanted to be anywhere but here, probably out of all this attention, he knew something was going on inside her head.
He was about to ask her if she wanted to eat something to bring her out of the infirmary when Professor Kinsley rushed to the laboratory.
"Where is she?" He asked before walking to her bed.
He looked at her swollen and red foot before looking at her burnt hand and disheveled hair, before sighing.
"I am sorry. It’s my fault. No matter what kind of expert you are, I shouldn’t have allowed you near the chemicals alone. Someone had to be there," Professor Kinsley apologised.
Even the vice principal who reached there agreed with his words.
Though her research was remarkable, she was still a student and needed some supervision.
Besides, low blood sugar was a condition that wasn’t common in the werewolves, but the lanterns who weren’t that strong got it easily.
It was understandable.
"But, I am sure I asked Cameron to stay here. What about that? Why wasn’t he here?" Kinsley asked.
"No one was around when I came here. And I think I saw Cameron walking towards the rogue wing," Aaron said.
Amelia looked at the man who hadn’t helped her in the last life, and she thought he was a bad man before taking a deep breath.
"I am sorry for all the times I belittled you. And thank you for saving my life just now," Amelia said.
Aaron waved his hand like it was nothing.
Amelia nodded. She was still a little shaken up by everything she saw, and Ryan and Aaron could feel it after staying with her for so long.
