Reborn for Revenge: Find her Fated Alpha-Chapter 130: Karmic debt
"What do you think you were doing there, meeting her without anyoneโs permission?"
A man walked to the hooded person who had broken the law to meet Amelia Everleigh, ease her pain, comfort her, and make her realise what she was doing was enough, and that people were rooting for her. ๐ฏ๐ป๐ฎ๐๐ฌ๐ฎ๐๐๐ค๐๐๐ก.๐๐๐ถ
And because of that, he now stood facing the group of hooded mages who had been working hard for so many years for this process that was finally coming to light.
"She needed it," The man in the black hood said.
"Are you for real? Didnโt we mention it? No matter how hard it is for her, she will have to bear it. We canโt go soft on her. Not when we are so close to fate playing its role. The mageโs rock is finally healing,"
"You are right. He shouldnโt have gone. You made a mistake, Arnold."
"This isnโt about you or her. This is about all of us,"
The hooded figures came together to berate the man who had broken the law.
But the leader of them, the running leader who was responsible for making all the laws and how things worked between them or around them, the person who orchestrated everything for Ameliaโs rebirth, the holder of the white energy, didnโt say anything.
She just sat there, looking at Arnold with an unexplainable expression.
"Leave," She said after some time.
The hooded figures looked at their leaders, not understanding why their leader wasnโt speaking, but it wasnโt as if they could question her either.
After all, even after losing all their energies, the only person who didnโt lose her poise and Mana was her.
Once everyone left, the leader turned to Arnold, who sat on a large rock, his fists clenched by his side, barely controlling his emotions.
"How is she?" The leader asked, her voice soft.
Arnoldโs eyes brimmed with unshed tears that he blinked away quickly.
"Did I really do wrong?" He asked instead.
The leader observed the man for some time before she sighed and stood from her temporary throne.
She walked to the man, each step she took laced with power and dominance that couldnโt be rebuked or trifled with.
"Wrong isnโt a word to describe what you triggered. Your interference caused the mageโs powers locked inside her to retaliate, and while it worked in our favour since that sacrifice healed the mageโs rock, it couldโve gone worse," The leader said.
Arnold nodded.
He knew he was in the wrong. He knew going there, meeting her, after all these years, when he didnโt even bother if she was alive, interfering with her was wrong.
Much worse, he touched her. He placed his hand on her head, caressing her, comforting her, something that wasnโt allowed to any mage.
Why? Because the mageโs powers inside Amelia recognise people.
Even if Amelia herself was clueless about the visions, her channels were blocked because of the karmic debt she owed to the mages; her powers, however, recognised them and reached out to people.
And doing that only triggered their original form.
Since the mageโs powers locked inside Amelia were never brought to use for eighteen long years, she didnโt need Magna or meditation to become strong. Unlike other mages, her powers multiplied on their own.
She didnโt need training to act on it; her powers were intelligent enough. What she needed was training on how to control them. However, she first needed to unlock their true form.
"Back to my question, how is she?" The leader asked.
Arnold took a deep breath before he looked into the leaderโs eyes.
"Your question reeks of desperation, Scarlett," he said, taking the leaderโs name after a long time since they were alone.
The leaderโs gaze trembled. She felt called out by his question. She gulped and looked away, not meeting his intriguing gaze.
Knowing all too well he touched a sore spot, he shouldnโt, Arnold stood from his place, walked to her, and placed his hand on hers.
"She is fine. She is strong and resilient. Oh, I think your suspicion was right. Someone mustโve played a dirty game against us last time. Or there are no reasons why she went through the rebirth, and we couldnโt find her earlier," Arnold said.
Scarlett held Arnoldโs hand before nodding at him.
"We must keep an eye on her and stop her from getting influenced by those werewolves and vampires, no matter what. We lost our powers to those beasts once due to this cursed mate bond; we canโt let it happen again. She is his mate, but she must not fall for him," Scarlett said.
Arnold took a deep breath and nodded at her suggestion.
"You are right. Weโll have to create opportunities for Amelia to start hating Cyrus and Kyle once things start to fall in place and she realises her powers," Arnold said.
Scarlett held Arnoldโs hand, and with his memories, she relived the moment when he went there and met Amelia, touched her, and comforted her like a friend.
Her heart melted at the sight of Amelia crying afterwards, but she knew this was important for the girl to grow stronger.
Her pain was their salvation.
This pain was going to rewrite the history for the mages, and they all were waiting for that to happen.
At the same time, inside the hidden dungeons, Cyrus, who captured a rogue involved in the recent human trafficking case, grabbed the manโs neck, ready to rip his throat.
"Tell me who is sanctioning all the funds for these operations, and Iโll let you know. You choose to stay quiet, youโll remain quiet forever," Cyrus said.
The man trembled under his dark gaze that turned black, almost as if his wolf wasnโt a typical werewolf but a demon that had been residing inside him.
"I... I..." The man stuttered.
Cyrus, already running thin on patience, tightened his hold on the manโs neck and was about to rip him when Fabian walked to the dungeons urgently.
"Sir, Dominic is here to meet you," Fabian said.
Cyrus observed the manโs expression turning from panic to relief and knew who the person was sanctioning the funds without having to ask the man.
He didnโt kill the rogue immediately.
He could use this as leverage against Dominic.
Tomorrow was the Kingโs trials. It was a bold move from Dominic to come and meet him already. Cyrus wanted to see what was so important that the man couldnโt wait to meet him for one day.
