Reborn for Revenge: Find her Fated Alpha-Chapter 147: A changing timeline
Alpha Killian looked at the girl whose gaze was neutral, unwavering, unsympathetic, and more importantly, unloving.
For a second, it was hard for him even to recognise the girl. Was she the same girl who would jump at any opportunity to be close to him and help him?
It was becoming increasingly clear to him that she wasn’t in love with him anymore, that she wasn’t aiming to become his wife, and that she no longer craved his love and attention. The realization bit him, hurting him slowly.
He took a deep, shaky breath when he looked at his beta’s pleading eyes.
"What conditions?" He asked.
Amelia looked around before pointing to a random woman from his pack.
"Only she will be in the room with me when I treat Caroline. I am allowing her because I don’t want you guys to blame me if anything happens. She would be my alibi that I did everything with pure intentions of saving her. No one, and I mean no one, will be allowed to enter. Is that okay?" She asked.
Alpha Killian hummed.
Then Amelia stepped ahead and walked to the doctor.
"You should be with some herbs. Please arrange these for me as quickly as possible. One mistake and I’ll behead you myself," Amelia looked at the man with a stern gaze.
The middle-aged man looked at his alpha, who nodded with gritted teeth.
"Good. I will happily take the case then," Amelia said and walked to the hospital room in which Caroline was lying, sweat rolling from the corner of her face as she screamed in pain.
Her gaze wavered a little when she saw Caroline hiding her belt protectively as she bled. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖
If this continued, she would bleed to death.
Amelia allowed the woman and then closed the room tentatively.
She asked the woman to make a paste of the herbs as she placed the hot water on the side and wet the towels.
"Here, this will help. Keep chewing them. Don’t swallow them under any circumstances. Do you hear me?" Amelia asked.
Caroline nodded her head, looking at Amelia as if begging for mercy and help.
"Please save my child even if you can’t save me," She pleaded.
Amelia didn’t say anything to her.
She continued her work and then urged Caroline to push.
When she saw Caroline wouldn’t be able to do it, she asked the Gynae and operating doctor to enter.
The operation started, and she kept rubbing those herbs on her wounds so that the healing wouldn’t shift to those wounds and instead focus on the delivery of the baby, along with keeping it safe.
After a rigorous hour of hard work, the baby was finally delivered and put in an incubator cell.
The mother and baby were safe.
She took a deep breath. As a certified healer who knew a few operating techniques, she could have performed the operation herself. Still, she didn’t want to take any chances, as the operation itself was a bit complicated.
Once done, Amelia gave Caroline some more herbs.
"For the next eleven days, please chew these herbs when you are feeding the baby. Don’t swallow. We can’t give these herbs to the baby directly. He will feed through you," Amelia said, and exited the hospital.
Jonas looked at Amelia, and once she confirmed the baby and the mother were okay, he fell to his knees.
"Thank you. I will forever owe you. After the death of her husband, this baby was all she got, and she is my only family member," Jonas said.
Amelia looked at the man. She remembered how she had been unable to save the baby last time. It wasn’t her fault, but they blamed her for it, and Jonas personally made her life a living hell, aiding Hannah in many schemes.
Though his hatred drew him to the evil path, it didn’t mean she could forgive him so easily.
Thus, when he showed gratitude in this manner, she just couldn’t bring herself to smile at him.
"Send the money to my account. I am sure you have it," she said to Alpha Killian.
As she was about to leave, she suddenly remembered something.
"Was Hannah here earlier?" She asked.
Alpha Killian shook his head.
"She was busy with something, and thus, couldn’t come," he said.
A hint of mockery appeared on her face.
"So you did plead with her first," She scoffed and left with Uncle Harrison.
Alpha Killian stood rooted in his place.
His fists were clenched by his side. He was finally starting to realise all the times he had chosen to trust others over Amelia, all the times he had favoured others and pushed her away.
And maybe all this realization came all too late. It didn’t matter anymore. He sighed and comforted his beta before entering the hospital to see the blessed baby, who saw a shimmer of Amelia’s kindness that was forbidden to him.
Amelia, on the other hand, furrowed her brows when she sat inside the car.
Hannah didn’t even bother to come here to see how things went, or ruin her plans. Unlike last time, she wasn’t interested in matters related to Alpha Killian anymore.
Why? Has she realised that she wasn’t going to gain anything by staying by Alpha Killian’s side? That he wasn’t a useful pawn against her anymore?
Amelia wondered, feeling troubled.
There was no way she was ready to believe that Hannah let go of her animosity towards her and her plans to snatch everything away from her.
And if she didn’t bother to come and ruin things for her here, it only meant she was aiming for a bigger game.
This meant that the timeline and events of the past were changing slowly this time, which meant things would become increasingly unpredictable.
Amelia thinned her lips and looked out of the window towards the passing trees in the night.
As the car moved, she suddenly felt like she saw someone standing in the shadows watching her. What was worse was that it almost seemed as though the shadow was driving with their car.
Amelia shook her head and turned on her phone, wanting to distract herself.
After a few seconds, she looked out again, and this time, she didn’t see anything; she breathed in relief.
"I am back," Amelia said to Miss Quinn, who was sleeping near the couch, and the head maid immediately woke up.
She looked at her in concern.
"Are you okay, Princess? That bad alpha didn’t do anything to you, right?" she asked hurriedly, checking for any wounds.
Amelia shook her head.
"Don’t worry about it, Miss Quinn. Would he dare to do anything to me now after knowing who the king is?" Amelia assured the lady before ascending the stairs.
Once inside the room, she threw her cardigan on the bed and was about to take off her dress when she paused.
She looked at the jade bangles in her hand and noticed how they were glowing in the dark.
The glow from the bangles shone even brighter in her eyes.
"Amelia," She heard a whisper around herself and turned towards the window, her eyes widening at the sight.
