Reborn for Revenge: Find her Fated Alpha-Chapter 157: A sparring suggestion
The triplet alphas, who returned after collecting wood to cook food and lit the campfire along with the other alphas, looked at Amelia, who was coming from the other direction, and raised their brows when they saw how flushed she looked.
Ryan, worried that it was some kind of allergic reaction to any bush, walked to her.
"Hey, why is your face so red? Are you okay?" His brows furrowed, his tone laced with concern as he raised his hand to cup her cheeks.
As soon as his hands touched Amelia’s skin, she stepped back awkwardly.
"Yeah, I am fine. I was just feeling a little stuffy earlier and went for a walk. As you can see, we healers are not much of athletes, unlike you alphas," Amelia chuckled before she looked at Fabian, who finally climbed his way up.
Her brows raised at his condition.
If she didn’t know better, she would’ve almost mistaken him for someone who was returning from a long war.
Leaves and mud adorned his features as his face was soiled from remnants of mud.
"Mr. Fabian," she rushed to him.
Fabian looked at Amelia and sniffed.
"I slipped," he said in a complaining voice, and Amelia barely suppressed her laughter as she grabbed a water bottle from nearby and washed his face.
Fabian stood there, letting her help him, feeling gratitude filling his heart.
She really had the heart of Luna. He wondered, and then his gaze shifted to his boss, who stood at some distance.
Knowing how his jealousy might make him end up down the hill again, Fabian thanked Amelia before walking to the side to grab something to eat.
Amelia sighed.
She was about to return to the camp to ask the girl if they needed her to help with something when she felt someone’s presence behind her.
"How have you been, Amelia?" Hannah’s crisp voice came.
"I am surviving," Amelia said, briefly looking at her sister as she walked inside the tent that had her stuff.
She pulled out her notebook to write down some notes about the herbs they needed to study.
"You must be happy. Your husband is the king now," Hannah said.
Amelia could sense her tone laced with edgy jealousy, and she raised her gaze to her sister.
"What is there to be happy about? He has always been the king. People used this title before his name for a long time. He just proved his worth," Amelia said.
Hannah nodded as she looked at her so-called sister.
Even the way Amelia sat in the cramped tent, her hands clasped around the notebook, made her look so picturesque that it made Hannah envious of her.
She didn’t want to marry that beast earlier. She was just looking at the outer shell of the story.
The reason she asked her father to marry Amelia was that the girl wasn’t of age and that she wanted to ruin her by marrying her to the beast, to take away her love, ’Alpha Killian,’ from her.
And she was still under the impression that she did right by doing so, but now that she looked at that so-called beast who was roaming around Amelia, she couldn’t help but envy her.
Why always her? What was it with her that people ended up liking her?
Just because she was a prodigy healer, she should get everything? That was so unfair.
Hannah gritted her teeth.
Just because her mother wasn’t the legitimate daughter, she had to pretend to be the daughter of a woman she loathed. She had to pretend to be sad for the death of that woman; she wanted to kill herself if possible.
"It must be tiring," Hannah added.
Amelia looked at her in confusion. She didn’t understand the context of her words. There was no way she was worrying about her, so what did she mean?
"I mean, living in a family that hates you. They haven’t even accepted you as their daughter-in-law. Moreover, the queen trials would be conducted, where your position would be reduced to nothing more than that of a regular competitor, just like everyone else. It would be quite humiliating," Hannah whispered these words so that no one would hear other than Amelia.
Amelia smiled at her words.
She knew that by saying such words, Hannah was just trying to find something she could laugh about, something that would prove her life was a mess, and calm Hannah’s heart.
However, Amelia wasn’t in the mood to give Hannah that kind of satisfaction today.
"Not at all. They adore me. Alpha Grayson even goes as far as reprimanding everyone for me," Amelia said.
Hannah smiled bitterly.
"That’s good, then. I am truly happy for you. You deserve some happiness," Hannah said.
"Thank you for the wishes," Amelia said before she placed her notebook inside her bag and walked out of the tent.
Hannah looked at the back of the smug girl and clenched her fists.
You make me so envious of your life that I want to snatch everything you have, Amelia. Hannah wondered as her gaze shifted to the man who was sitting on the side, his dominating aura suppressing everyone.
She noticed how all the alphas were walking on eggshells around the man. This kind of power... Hannah licked her bottom lip.
Only deserved a man like him.
Amelia was too good for someone like him. This man deserved someone who would take care of his needs, be wild in bed, lead beside him with equal cunningness, and have a sharp mind with a sexy body.
Feeling someone’s gaze on him, Cyrus turned to his right side, and his eyes met Hannah’s. The girl gave him a soft smile, and he couldn’t help but raise his brows.
Has the girl forgotten how he broke her hand when she was caught moving poison into Amelia’s drink?
He disregarded her gaze with a scoff, leaving the girl frozen in her place before she forced a neutral expression and turned to the girls’ group.
"Are most of the activities over? It’s just camping and sleeping now?" Cyrus asked Professor Dan, who sat beside him.
The man nodded to himself humbly.
"That was the plan after spending some time by the bonfire after eating. However, if you have something in mind, we can surely arrange that, King Cyrus," he said.
Cyrus hummed. He looked at Amelia, smiling at something a girl said, and couldn’t help his lips from twitching.
"We have seen sparring between boys quite a few times, and I am afraid these alphas would go ballistic to show their strength before me. How about dancing?" Cyrus suggested.
Professor Dan clapped his hands at the idea.
"That would be a good activity to enjoy. I’ll arrange for someone to–" The man stood from his position and was about to leave when Cyrus interrupted him.
"But how will we decide who gets to dance with me? If I choose one on my own, the others might feel bad, and the girls might target the chosen one later. I don’t want that to happen," Cyrus said with a quizzical look.
Professor Dan nodded.
That indeed made sense. With power hunger running rampant among many teenagers, even at this age, the possibility of something like this happening was relatively high.
"So what do you suggest?" He asked after thinking for some time.
"Why don’t you keep a sparring competition between the girls? The winner will get to dance with me," Cyrus said.
Professor Dan looked at the king and was unsure of what to say. He didn’t realize their king had this wild side to him.
However, now that he had suggested something like this, he didn’t know how to deny it, and thus, he stood up from his place and asked one of the students to gather all the females.
Within three minutes, all the girls stood in a circle around the spot where the bonfire had been prepared.
"Well, the studious activities for the day have been over, and I wondered if you guys would like to have some fun here. It would be boring just to eat and go to sleep. This is a trip, and we should make it a memorable one. Thus, we have come up with a plan," Professor Dan said before he told them about the sparring game.
Amelia raised her brows when she heard the winner would get to dance with the king.
Cyrus smirked at her when he met her gaze.
He pulled out his phone and typed a message quickly.
"Will you win for me?" He asked.
Amelia looked at her phone and raised her brows at the message.
She smiled before typing.
"I am not even participating." She hit the send button and was about to deny participating when she heard Hannah’s crisp voice.
"What a brilliant idea. I think this is going to be fun." Hannah’s gaze travelled to Amelia.
She wanted to dance with the king? Amelia wondered. Something was going on in her head.
"Right. Before you guys complain, everyone must participate. There won’t be any fun if you guys back off. I will be sure to waive off the next assignment if you participate," Professor Dan said.
Amelia looked at Cyrus, who was typing something, and raised her brows when she saw another message.
"If you win, I’ll take you somewhere special, only the two of us. Sylas wants to see his wife winning," Cyrus said.
Amelia looked at the message and sighed.
He knew exactly what kind of words to use to coax her.
She shook her head before glaring at the man who grinned at her.
