Reborn! I Ditched the Run and Married the Heir-Chapter 321: That’s Absolutely Your Imagination!
Xiao Li watched Qin Xiao’s figure disappear into the room, then wrapped herself in the sheet and got out of bed. She opened the wardrobe next to her and, seeing some clothes already placed inside, smiled, picked up a nightgown, and headed to the bathroom.
After preparing simple food and placing it on the dining table, Qin Xiao entered the room.
Upon entering, he saw Xiao Li emerge, covered in a mist of water, her skin tender and pink from the hot water.
The weather had just turned to autumn, so wearing short sleeves in the room was enough. Xiao Li was wearing a set of silk pajamas, with a spaghetti strap underneath and a thin outer robe over it.
Seeing Xiao Li like this, Qin Xiao’s eyes changed instantly. He suppressed the heat in his body and casually said, "Nini, I think you’re trying to seduce me!"
Xiao Li’s mind went blank for a second!
When had she ever tried to seduce him? Don’t be ridiculous, okay? Her waist was still sore, and her stomach was still hungry. How could she dare to seduce him?
"Uncle, trust me! It must be your imagination!" Xiao Li said and immediately ran off. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖
Qin Xiao laughed and followed her out of the room; he was just joking and didn’t have the heart to truly tire her out.
Xiao Li quickly started eating as soon as she sat down at the table.
Once the quarantine was over, Xiao Li spent two days at home with the kids before returning to work at the hospital.
At the hospital, Yang Wangcheng was excited to learn that Xiao Li was returning today.
But in an instant, he felt a bit down because he was about to rotate to a new department for his internship.
He somewhat regretted not learning more from Xiao Li initially, although later, due to her illness, Dr. Fang served as his mentor.
But after interning under Xiao Li, when he moved to Dr. Fang’s guidance, he found himself unaccustomed to Dr. Fang’s style.
Xiao Li, in her high heels, stepped into the respiratory department. All the colleagues she met along the way greeted her with smiles.
"Morning, Dr. Xiao!"
"Morning, Dr. Xiao! So glad you’re back!"
......
Xiao Li responded with a smile, "Morning."
She turned slightly and entered the locker room. After changing her clothes, Xiao Li headed to the office.
In the office, as soon as Yue Wenwen saw her, she immediately came over, "Sister..."
Xiao Li patted her hand, "When did you get back to the hospital?"
"Just two days before you! The hospital gave me a leave, so I stayed home to keep my dad company before returning," Yue Wenwen said with a smile.
"How’s Uncle’s health?"
"He’s doing well. Since everything happened, he’s gradually come to terms with the changes, and now his mindset is quite good. My relationship with him has also improved.
This time, while I was at home with him, we could even joke around together, which was something I never dared to imagine before."
Xiao Li nodded, "It will only get better in the future!"
As they spoke, Yang Wangcheng arrived and, upon seeing Xiao Li, immediately ran over and shouted, "Teacher Xiao!"
Xiao Li smiled, "Stand up straight, the director is here."
Yang Wangcheng turned to look and saw Bai Yu entering with him.
As soon as Bai Yu arrived, the morning meeting began. After it ended, Bai Yu looked at Xiao Li, "Dr. Xiao, could you come here for a moment?"
Yang Wangcheng intended to speak with Xiao Li, but she was called away again, so he could only follow Dr. Fang for rounds.
In the director’s office, Bai Yu poured Xiao Li a glass of water, "How’s your health?"
Xiao Li smiled, "If I’m here, that means I’m well. If I weren’t, would my uncle at home allow me to be here?"
Bai Yu nodded, "That’s true! Qin Xiao is as nervous about you as anything. When you were hospitalized, he was busier than a dog, but as soon as I brought up anything about you, no matter how busy he was, he would always come to the hospital to meet with me.
He frequented the respiratory department while you were hospitalized, but due to the epidemic prevention requirements, he couldn’t enter the isolation ward to see you."
Xiao Li was slightly moved by these words; Qin Xiao had never mentioned these things to her. She had thought he was entirely absorbed in the lab.
"Alright, let’s not talk about him; you know his feelings for you well enough without my saying more.
I have something else to discuss with you. Yang Wangcheng was originally to be mentored by you, but due to your illness, Dr. Fang took over. Now that he’s about to rotate, I want to know if you think he should continue under Dr. Fang until he transfers departments, or if he should come back under your guidance?"
Xiao Li considered, "Let it be me! Most people in the department know Yang Wangcheng’s background. If Dr. Fang continues to guide him until he transfers, I’m worried that the comments in the teaching section of the report might not be objective enough.
Yang Wangcheng has a strong foundation and responds quickly in clinical settings, but even in the short time I mentored him, I noticed his issues. I hope to point them out to him.
I don’t want him to become overly complacent. If he goes to other departments with his current attitude, the mentor there might not want to risk offense by pointing things out, and would likely choose to ignore them.
If that’s the case, it won’t be helpful for his future internship and career."
Bai Yu nodded, "You thought exactly as I did. The dean asked me about Yang Wangcheng’s internship performance in the department and shared views similar to yours, hoping that whoever guides him will point out his shortcomings.
The dean’s attitude was sincere, but I believe there aren’t many who trust what he says. When Yang Wangcheng rotates to other departments, I’m sure Director Yang will say the same thing to those department heads, but few will probably listen, and most will overthink it."
Overthinking, how so? When a superior talks to a subordinate, a savvy subordinate often hears multiple layers of meaning in the superior’s words.
Director Yang’s original intent was to have the clinical mentors point out Yang Wangcheng’s shortcomings.
But those who hear it might not believe Director Yang’s words to be so straightforward, thinking deeper into it, they might deduce several layers of meaning, over-interpreting, and believing that Director Yang is overtly asking them to teach Yang Wangcheng while implicitly suggesting they shouldn’t give him a hard time.
So once he leaves the respiratory department and moves on to other departments, there are probably few who would bother pointing out Yang Wangcheng’s issues, let alone mention his character flaws!
After communicating with Xiao Li, Bai Yu went and spoke with Dr. Fang. Upon hearing that Yang Wangcheng was to be returned to Xiao Li, Dr. Fang felt quite pleased!
Ah... finally sent off the young master. She had been at her wit’s end over how to write the report for his rotation, and now she didn’t have to worry, it was such a relief!
Though Dr. Fang was internally overjoyed, she maintained a calm demeanor and said to Xiao Li with detachment, "Dr. Xiao, I finally get to return him intact!"
Xiao Li smiled, "Thank you for your hard work during this period, Dr. Fang!"
