Reborn in the 1980s: Recapture My Devoted Husband-Chapter 57 - 56: Busy Work
Chapter 57: Chapter 56: Busy Work
Meals can be delivered right to your doorstep, and you get free cold dishes. Even if it’s a bit more expensive than the hospital cafeteria, some people are willing to order.
"Comrade, can you come again tomorrow? We also want to place an order," Lin Wan was delivering meals to people in the ward when a family member from the next room asked.
They’ve been in the hospital for half a month and are tired of the cafeteria food. Something new came along, and they wanted to try it. Besides, most of them pay in cash.
"Sure, we’ll come once at around ten in the morning and again at five in the afternoon. You can place your order at lunchtime and evening. If it’s convenient, you can also bring the meal containers to our store directly," Lin Wan replied with a smile.
"That sounds great."
They delivered meals around the hospital and took ten orders when they returned.
Luckily, she asked Mom to cook extra today.
Just like that, Lin Wan and Lin Yinghui made three trips and finally completed today’s orders.
By around eight in the evening, the three of them sat in the store, drinking a few bowls of leftover porridge. Liang Hongmei specially fried two dishes.
After dinner, Liang Hongmei brought out the leftover meat from the day, and the three of them headed home.
That night, the mother and her two children discussed, and Liang Hongmei tidied up the kang in the living room for Lin Yinghui to sleep outside.
Early the next morning, Lin Yinghui went to the city mall. Liang Hongmei went to sell breakfast, and Lin Wan went to buy the ingredients needed for that day.
Today, I picked some ripe broad beans to take back.
Broad beans are rich in nutrients, and adding them to rice porridge might appeal to some people.
When she arrived at the store, Lin Wan posted a recruitment notice at the door, hiring a dishwasher.
Delivering meals to the hospital, there’s still more than a week until her brother’s vacation; then, he’ll take over.
Around ten, Lin Wan took a trip to the inpatient department and returned with more than ten orders.
"Hey, comrade, I heard you can deliver meals, right?" A nurse grabbed Lin Wan in the gynecology inpatient department and asked.
"Yes."
"Bring me a lotus root and pork rib for lunch; here’s my lunchbox. You can just report my name when you deliver; I’m Li Lan."
Lin Wan took the lunchbox and noted it down in her small notebook, saying, "Sure."
When Lin Wan arrived at the store, Lin Yinghui had already returned.
He bought two foam boxes.
"Sis, I couldn’t find disposable meal boxes even after visiting a few supply stores, so I just bought two foam boxes."
Lin Wan didn’t have high hopes anyway; during that time, it probably didn’t exist yet. She casually said when her brother left, "It’s okay. We’ll just make a few more trips."
By lunchtime, the store gradually filled with people. Liang Hongmei rushed and managed to finish the hospital orders by eleven forty.
Lin Yinghui delivered them twice and successfully handed over all the orders.
By the end of the day, the three of them were soaked through. When they returned, Lin Wan boiled a large pot of hot water, and they all took a pleasant bath.
"Sis, the recruitment notice you posted at the store entrance isn’t very effective. Today, I wrote a few more; tomorrow, you can stick them in more visible places nearby."
"Don’t post them too noticeably," Lin Wan remembered that hiring workers wasn’t popular yet. In a couple of years, another wave of unrest would arise because of self-employed hiring workers. It would be quite tumultuous. Liang Hongmei asked Lin Wan while reading a middle school Chinese textbook on the bed.
Lin Yinghui whispered to Lin Wan downstairs, reminding her that he would start school tomorrow and had to go back early.
"Got it, bro. Tomorrow, I’ll post a few at the market."
Early in the morning, after sending her brother off, Lin Wan returned and posted a recruitment notice on a not-so-obvious utility pole at the morning market, including the address.
