Chapter 725: Chapter 725: (1 Update)

Jin Ruiyang didn’t run far before he spotted the Xu’s Liuyue Su and, knowing Xu Sisi as he did, guessed that the headlong sprinting girl would definitely run towards this place.

Xu’s Liuyue Su, heh...

Jin Ruiyang helplessly chuckled to himself, thinking the girl had probably shrunk back into her shell again.

"Sir, good day, may I help you with anything?" Zhou Dinghua, noticing Jin Ruiyang’s extraordinary aura, approached him with polite enquiry, harboring a desire to make conversation.

"Did Xu Sisi run this way?" Jin Ruiyang asked.

This was Xu Niannian’s first shop in the capital, and Jin Ruiyang looked around the space but didn’t see the girl in the main hall.

He wasn’t certain if Zhou Dinghua knew Xu Sisi.

"You’re looking for Sisi?" Zhou Dinghua expressed in surprise, a flicker of realization crossing his eyes as he recalled Sisi hurriedly running upstairs just a moment ago.

"You must be Sisi’s fiance, right?" Zhou Dinghua had heard from Xu Niannian about Sisi’s betrothed.

"It seems she is indeed here," Jin Ruiyang smiled, his gaze suddenly falling upon a high heeled shoe next to the stairs.

He walked over with a smile, bent down to pick up the shoe, hooked it on his finger, and couldn’t help but laugh at the thought of the girl in such a rush that she didn’t even notice she had lost her shoe.

After confirming that Jin Ruiyang was indeed Xu Sisi’s fiance, Zhou Dinghua informed him that Sisi was upstairs.

Jin Ruiyang thanked him and stepped up to the second floor.

He accurately found the staff lounge and, seeing the door ajar, Jin Ruiyang extended his hand to push it open.

The lounge was neither big nor small and contained a bed; it was in this bed, under the covers, that Xu Sisi was hiding.

Jin Ruiyang treaded softly to the bedside. He didn’t immediately lift the covers, instead clearing his throat first.

No response.

Jin Ruiyang quirked an eyebrow in surprise and cleared his throat again.

Still no response.

Now Jin Ruiyang was truly taken aback and didn’t hesitate to gently lift the covers, assuming Xu Sisi was just too shy.

"Xiao Sisi, Brother Ruiyang apologizes to you," he said, his back turned to her, fearing it would make her too embarrassed.

But still, there was no response, and it was then that Jin Ruiyang realised something was amiss and turned his head for a glance.

On the perfectly made bed, the little girl lay askew in the middle, breathing quietly.

She had clearly fallen asleep.

Jin Ruiyang was taken aback for a moment before he chuckled softly.

His long fingers gently pinched her face.

The wait was tedious, and Jin Ruiyang hadn’t expected Xu Sisi to be such a sound sleeper, to sleep well into the afternoon.

As Xu Sisi slowly awakened, not quite with it yet, she rubbed her eyes and stared at the ceiling.

Where was she?

As her thoughts gathered, Xu Sisi remembered what had happened before she fell asleep.

She sat up abruptly from the bed, "Oh my goodness."

The scent of eggs...

Xu Sisi felt that for the rest of her life she could never look at eggs the same way again.

"What’s wrong?" ƒгeewebnovёl_com

The gentle voice came from behind her, a voice that was all too familiar to Xu Sisi, and her expression instantly froze. Rui, Brother Ruiyang?

Why was he here?

She twisted her head around abruptly, and there was Jin Ruiyang, sitting right at the edge of her bed on the sofa, looking at her with a face full of amusement.

His smile was gentle, much like when Xu Sisi had first met him, noble and gentlemanly.

Yet, Xu Sisi always felt a hint of mockery in the curve of his lips.

Without saying a word, Xu Sisi jumped out of bed and made a break for it.

She thought that if only she ran fast enough, the awkwardness wouldn’t catch up to her.

Unfortunately, she was mistaken.

Awkwardness did catch up to her, and so did Jin Ruiyang.

To be precise, he simply reached out and thwarted her attempt to flee.
