Reborn With a Money-Making System: Ruined Actress to Nation's Treasure-Chapter 108: Three Hours of Filming and One Sleeping Cat
The next day, I received several packages from Roselle Beauty filled with makeup products for my content.
When I opened the box, I was honestly impressed because they even sent three different foundation and powder shades that were close to my skin tone, probably because they weren’t sure which one matched me exactly.
"Maybe I should just become a full-time beauty influencer," I joked, giggling to myself. "Free makeup forever? Yes, please."
But then again, if I became a successful actress, I could get free clothes and accessories too. So yeah, being an actress still sounded better.
I told Henry that I planned to film in my bedroom, so I asked the maids to bring my lunch upstairs.
Lando wasn’t home either, so I could film and eat wherever I wanted without anyone bothering me.
After fixing the lighting, setting my phone on the tripod, and choosing what clothes and accessories to wear, I was finally ready to start filming.
I had spent around $1,000 last night to buy all the filming equipment, but it was worth it. Once I turned on the new lighting, my face looked bright and soft on camera. Even with my bare face, the lighting made my skin look smooth.
I actually realized I started to develop a few insecurities once I got used to this body. Maybe not to an extreme level where I hated my appearance—at least, not yet—but it did start to worry me a bit.
For the past few weeks, I slowly increased my food portions, and since Helcia’s body was too thin when I first entered it, now I feel like my cheeks have gotten a bit chubby.
Penny said it looked good on me, but I still felt uneasy.
This is why I was so scared when I found out Helcia had the same mental illness I used to struggle with back then.
Seeing my body change from malnourished to healthy isn’t easy, not because it looks bad, but because there’s this urge I can’t explain, telling me to eat less so there won’t be even a bit of fat on my body.
I hate this feeling. I hate that I know it too well.
Maybe... I should go back to a therapist, since this body and my mind are starting to feel connected.
But for now, I just needed to focus on filming my makeup video and avoid thinking negatively about my face.
One step at a time.
The moment I turned on the camera, I smiled brightly and lifted Lingo up to my face.
"Hi, sweethearts! Today I’m going to do a summer makeup tutorial, and our special guest is... Lingo!"
Lingo blinked slowly at the lens like he was born to be a superstar. Meanwhile, I held him carefully so he wouldn’t claw my eyelids off in front of my future fans.
"He’s such a good boy," I said, pressing my cheek lightly against his fluffy head. "A lot of you asked why I always film with Lingo instead of my other babies. The answer is simple, he doesn’t chew on my makeup or try to eat my skincare like the others."
I zoomed the camera in slightly and lowered him to the vanity table.
"Lingo is the calm one," I continued proudly. "The rest of my cats think my makeup routine is a buffet. Lingo just sits here and judges me silently... which is still better."
"See? Total professional," I laughed. "Anyway, let’s start with the foundation."
I dotted the foundation on my cheeks, forehead, and chin, glancing at Lingo every few seconds as he quietly watched me blend it in.
"Look at him," I whispered dramatically to the camera. "So well-behaved. So peaceful. Meanwhile, the others would have already stolen my powder puff, eaten half of my beauty blender, and knocked the camera off the table."
I filmed the video for more than three hours and recorded the Roselle Beauty eyeshadow segment while introducing the colors in the palette.
The process was so tiring because I had to do my makeup and talk to the camera at the same time. If I messed up what I was saying, I had to redo the take until I was satisfied.
Meanwhile, Lingo had already fallen asleep on the vanity table like he had given up on life. He was completely useless as a coworker, but very cute as moral support.
Still, even though I felt half-dead by the end, the result was worth it.
I took a few poses in front of the camera, showing off my orange-yellow eyeshadow. It looked sweet and bright, and the soft orange blush made it even better. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
To be honest, I had used a foundation one shade darker, because my pale skin doesn’t always get along with orange. But thankfully, it still turned out really nice.
"I’m tired," I muttered dramatically as I dropped my head onto the vanity table after turning off the camera.
And worst of all? I still hadn’t filmed any short trending videos with trending audio to boost my views.
Being pretty on camera was one thing. Being consistent on the internet? That was true suffering.
However, this kind of work was nothing compared to shooting movies or dramas, so I treated it as a warm-up.
I then took my phone off the tripod and decided to take a few photos to send to Lando.
[Me: Husband, which picture should I use for the video cover?]
I sent him at least 30 photos, and I really hoped he didn’t have his notifications on, or his phone would be buzzing nonstop.
I was also a little scared he might be in a meeting... but it was too late to cancel them now.
Surprisingly, he read my message right away. But then... nothing. There was no reply, no text, or no reaction. He just saw it.
I stared at the screen, confused. Was he choosing the best picture for me? Judging each one seriously like a fashion critic? Or was he just staring at the photos in silence, wondering why he married a woman who spams thirty selfies at once?
After almost ten minutes of waiting and mentally preparing myself to pretend I wasn’t desperate for his opinion, my phone suddenly lit up.
There was an incoming video call from Lando.
