Regressor's Harem Of Vengeance-Chapter 35. Harvest Festival [1]: Dancing With Mira.
Ray smiled and stepped out of the house with Emma.
Upon stepping out, the two realized that the village square had been transformed.
The sun was setting, painting the sky twilight, and lanterns had been hung between buildings to help the crowds see better once the sky turned dark.
Ray also noticed several long tables filled with foods like roasted meat, fresh breads, pies, vegetables, and honeyed drinks.
Children chased each other between adult legs while old men argued over card games.
Young couples, around the same age as Ray, had drifted toward the dancing area where a small band of musicians played beautiful, lively folk music.
Ray and Emma were wowed by the scenery before them, then they walked around the village together, seeing old and new things that they had never come across before.
By the time they had walked around a lot in excitement, Ray suddenly noticed Mira waiting near the food tables.
Obviously, she had stepped out of the house and had been looking all over for them, but since she couldn’t find them, Mira knew Ray and Emma would eventually have to come to the food table when they were hungry.
It was a place within the village square where everyone would gather around to eat together, hence why Mira was waiting for them there.
Upon seeing Mira, Ray abruptly stopped walking to admire the view before him.
Mira was currently wearing a dress that Ray hadn’t seen before, and Ray couldn’t help but admire the beautiful deep green dress.
Meanwhile, Emma had been walking behind Ray but since she had been too preoccupied with looking at some of the children playing, she didn’t know Ray had suddenly stopped walking, causing her to accidentally bump into his back.
"Ow. Why did you suddenly stop... oh." Emma noticed Mira standing in the distance.
She looked between Mira and Ray, then she grinned. "Hehehe... You’re making that face again."
"What face?" Ray asked, raising his eyebrows.
"The face you always make when you look at her. It’s kind of the face you make when someone hits you on the head or something. That’s why I call it a silly lovey-dovey face." For the past few weeks, Emma had noticed her big brother making this particular type of face whenever he was talking to Mira or whenever he was staring at her during breakfast or dinner.
And since she had seen it a couple of times, Emma had slowly grown used to his silly lovey-dovey face.
Ray rolled his eyes with a smile. "I do not have a silly lovey-dovey face."
"You totally have a silly lovey-dovey face." Emma stated with a huge smile on her face.
"Yeah, yeah. Whatever you say, just keep quiet. Mira is on her way here." Ray hushed his younger sister.
Meanwhile, Mira was still glancing around in search of Ray and Emma, but her eyes lit up in excitement the moment she spotted them talking.
She immediately approached them before noticing the silly lovey-dovey face she had grown used to seeing on Ray’s face. "Is something wrong?" Mira asked with a smug smile on her face.
"I-It’s nothing." Ray replied before complimenting her. "You look nice." 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂
"Just nice?"
"Alright, you look beautiful."
"Better. Thank you " Mira beamed but she suddenly heard a gagging sound behind Ray.
It turned out that little Emma couldn’t withstand the lovey-dovey atmosphere between the two of them and Mira couldn’t help but giggle softly.
"Shall we join others in dancing?" Mira asked as she gestured to the other young and older couples dancing together.
"Alright, but just so you know. I really don’t know how to dance." Ray pointed out.
"Me neither." Mira chuckled softly and took his hand. "But we can learn along the way."
Ray smiled and nodded.
The two walked towards the dancing area and began dancing with everyone else.
However, Ray soon discovered that dancing was actually significantly harder than fighting monsters.
For combat, fighting had rules and patterns that he could easily adapt to.
If an enemy moved left, the obvious thing to do was to move right and strike back
But for dancing, things were a lot more complex and demanding.
Ray had Mira’s hand in his and Mira had her other hand on his shoulder.
The two chuckled softly as they stepped on each other’s toes, but with Ray stepping on her a lot more than she stepped on him.
"Sorry." Ray muttered but Mira smiled warmly.
"It’s fine. Just follow the rhythm of the music and try not to think about stepping on my... oops."
Mira looked down and a brief silence reigned between them.
Ray looked down as well and a smug look appeared on his face.
"You were saying...?" He asked teasingly and Mira’s face flushed red when she realized that she had stepped on Ray’s feet when she had just been about to tell him not to think of stepping on hers.
Oh well, Karma was always a bitch, so what the heck.
The two resumed their slow dancing, hoping they would improve along the way. But they didn’t, and now, the two of them were just laughing while stepping on each other’s feet.
"It’s hard to believe you’re strong enough to battle against twenty monsters on your own, yet you can’t even manage to dance without stepping on my toes." Mira teased as she stepped on his toe once again.
"I could say the same about you, though."
Mira smiled and tried to adjust their movements. "Let’s try moving a little bit slower now. One, two, three. One, two, three."
They both tried again, and to their surprise, they were slowly getting into the rhythm.
Now their feet were beginning to move smoothly to the rhythm of the music, allowing them to easily move in sync.
Actually, the real reason why the both of them had suddenly improved was because they had been taking a few glances at the rest of the dancers around them, thereby enabling them to ease themselves into the rhythm.
Feeling confident about their dance now, Ray wrapped his arm a little tighter around Mira’s waist before pulling her closer to him.
Her massive E-Cup marshmallows were now squashed against his chest while he had a really good look at her eyes, and definitely not her amazing cleavage.
