Chapter 307: Chapter 307: Blood River

Seeing the Blood Crocodile coming at him with all those blood tendrils squirming in his back, Kael realized that this crocodile was not like other crocodiles.

It didn’t have the kind of power that he was familiar with.

The power of blood. This was the first time he was seeing it. But it didn’t mean he would hesitate.

His water whips around him spun on their axis before pointing their sharp spinning ends at the incoming crocodile. All at once, they pierced down at the red crocodile, only to be blocked by the flailing tendrils of blood.

The crocodile reached Kael and opened his mouth wide to bite Kael’s face. Kael still had a calm expression. He leaned his head back slightly while controlling the water to move backward.

The crocodile noticed that he could not get close to Kael with the water moving against him, so he went all out.

*BAM!*

Kael slid across the water, his claws creating thin lines on the surface that quickly disappeared.

His face was stained red with blood, but it was still calm. His eyes seemed to merely be observing but was also losing interest.

Blood began to gather around the water he was standing on. The red crocodile leaped out of the water again, and multiple blood tendrils went out before him.

Some tendrils wrapped around Kael’s neck, some around his limbs, and some around his waist. They held him in place so that the blood-red crocodile could do the finishing blow.

Finally, he would be able to get this golden lion and end all this. To the Blood Crocodile, he had no reason to fear Kael, he could sense that they were of the same power level.

The Blood Crocodile had been the strongest crocodile in this river for a long time, boosting his confidence and making him feel like he was the strongest thing ever.

Of course, he had seen very few creatures who were of the same power level as him, but he had never seen any creature actually be stronger than him.

Unfortunately, Kael was not in the mood to prove him wrong and allow him to live to learn his lesson.

With the blood-red crocodile launching himself at his face, Kael’s face became slightly serious. He slashed his claw out, causing four blades of water to shoot out of the river toward the crocodile.

The crocodile’s eyes widened as fear crept into his heart for the first time. Those water blades were not ordinary, each of them had golden glitters within them.

He leaned his body to the side while controlling the blood stuck to his scales to swish around, aiding him in dodging some of the blades.

But he was unlucky, one of the water blades struck one of his hind legs. He hissed in agony as his limbs were cleanly severed from the body.

The cut-off limb floated aimlessly in the river, obeying the flow and moving along the current.

Kael did not let the Blood Crocodile have any semblance of clarity before he sent out another attack. He wasn’t going to wait for the croc to unleash his ultimate move, other things needed to be done.

The Blood Crocodile was trying to stabilize himself with three limbs when another water blade, more vicious than the land, shot out from underneath him.

The blood coating over his scales worked hard to black this attack, causing the body of the crocodile to be lifted into the air.

Blood tendrils flailed all over his body as the pain of his severed limb finally registered. He began to send out crazy attacks. Blood tendrils, blood spikes, blood bullets, blood blades.

Most of these attacks just killed the creatures fighting close to him and really didn’t have much effect on Kael.

He did this while releasing a terrifying hiss at Kael, "...You..."

The crocodile tried to establish a telepathic connection with Kael but Kael was having none of it. Before the Crocodile could complete his sentence, another water blade, much thicker and sharper than the last, swept over from the side and struck the red crocodile’s left side.

A shrill cry spread out and the water vibrated terribly. A wide gash appeared on the left side of the crocodile, causing blood and guts to spill out.

The crocodile, noticing his vision fading, hurried to patch the gash by controlling the blood to quickly cloth over the wound. He might survive if he was given enough time.

*SPICSH!*

A glittering solid water spike shot out of the river beneath the blood crocodile’s head. This was one of the softest places on his body and with his redirecting most of the blood to clot that wound, he had none left to protect his jaw and neck.

The top of the spike naturally pierced through the soft scales of his neck and jaw, easily passing through his mouth and continuing all the way into his head.

The Blood Crocodile’s vision went red as the blood vessels in his eyes all burst apart. His massive body went limp, his long head held up by the water spike still injected into his skull.

The battle was anticlimactic, just like that, the river master was dead.

This shocked the crocodiles. Crocodiles were biologically incapable of having a lot of emotions but even they were shocked by what they just saw.

The river master’s large red body floated there on the surface of the water, unmoving and absent of life.

The mass of blood that usually surrounded him or stuck to his scales began to glow away from him, losing the supernatural power that always kept them held together. The water around the crocodile’s corpse became a deep red as all the blood he had been accumulating just dyed this part of the river.

The blood kept on diluting the water until only red water could be seen from one riverside to the other. As expected if a crocodile with such a power level.

After confirming the death of the blood-red crocodile, turned away and continued walking over the water. The water whips, water paws, and water blades, l dissolved into the river.

This served as a massive boost to the morale of the beast horde. More and more creatures jumped into the river to assist their comrades in taking down the crocodiles.

The crocodiles on the other hand seemed to now be fighting for their survival. Many of them were already trying to swim away, only to be harassed by the birds from the sky.

It was something that they had never expected, how often was it that other creatures could fight the crocodiles in the wild plains and still come out victorious?

Kael reached the other side of the river, stepping his paws on the dry land once again. Water came up from the river and circulated around his golden fur, cleaning away all the blood stains.

He took a deep breath and his eyes opened wide with excitement. The stench of prey lingered in the air that night and it was baffling.

Space twisted as Katari appeared beside him. Her killing intent was gone and she only had a look of curiosity in her eyes. Both of them seemed oblivious to the slaughter that was happening inside the river.

The blood was accumulating and it was starting to look like a river of blood instead of water.

"Leave a hundred alive, mostly females," Kael sent a telepathic message to Priya who was still on the other side of the river.

Priya was not in a hurry to cross the river or get into the water. She was more interested in overseeing the integration of these crocodiles into the kingdom.

They were a powerful force if used well, too bad they met someone like Kael.

Priya’s spirit energy stretched into the blood river, assisting the beastly horde creatures in fighting their opponents. She was to reduce casualties on their side as much as possible while selecting the crocodiles that were to be spared.

The horde already outnumbered the crocodiles, even without Kael acting, the result was inevitable.

Kael sat down under the moonlight, waiting for all to end with Katari by his side. The moonlight was beautiful on his golden fur which blew softly from the cool night breeze.

His faintly glowing eyes gaze at the distance, the same direction Sherone and his herd had gone.

The original Sherone was wrong, the river crocodiles could not stop him, instead, they would make his kingdom stronger.

Now that the crocodiles were being dealt with, Kael’s mind drifted to other things.

The vultures.

His heart palpitated with excitement and he couldn’t help but feel like a child who knew a toy was coming his way.

He was deeply curious, could it have been a Primordial, like him? If so, what exactly is the nature of his or her powers?

The super mega herd and the vultures, both were things he wanted to acquire for himself.

Finally, the crocodiles were done. One by one, different creatures belonging to the kingdom began to climb out of the river and assembled again close to Kael.

Each of them were drenched in blood.
