Reincarnated As A Lion In Another World-Chapter 751: I Will Never Bite You
One hour later.
Kael was sitting down on a very comfortable leather chair.
In front of him was a very wide and round table, at least fifty metres wide.
He was in his humanoid form here, a welcome display of vulnerability. This was not about trust, but about relevance.
Kael was made aware that even if he was in his full Eldritch Lion form, he wouldn’t be able to defend himself against the top leaders.
He knew this because these leaders were also sitting at the round table with him.
There were five lions here, each of them in their humanoid forms and each of them were the leaders of the greatest lion clans in Original Heaven.
They were also the strongest lions.
Sitting on the same leather chair to Kael’s left was a sickly pale man wearing a tattered suit and looking directly at Kael with his creepy red eyes.
He didn’t blink, he didn’t breathe, he didn’t flinch. Just stared, observing Kael as much as he could.
His left arm was resting on the table and his right hand was supporting his chin. He was very interested in what Kael was, as if he was eager to rip Kael’s soul open and observe it all for himself.
Kael did not look at him; he kept his eyes lowered, gazing at the table’s contents.
The room reeked of fresh blood, and the table was stained red with the items that had been placed on it.
Scattered on the round table were all types of meats that Kael had seen and those that he had not seen.
The blood was thick and heavy, yet it flowed easily, dripping from the edges of the table.
The drops of blood hit the floor, the clear crisp sound of tiny liquid droplets hitting the cold floor broke the silence and prevented the meeting room from being drowned in awkward decorum.
Kael’s attention was divided between the items on the table and the five entities sitting around the table with him.
This was a dinner party fit for the most savage of kings, the type of party Kael was comfortable going to.
From the stench alone, Kael could tell that these meats were of the best quality.
However, the pieces of flea and the dripping blood were not the main dishes that had been served.
There were other...’things’
How could kings of this calibre and status bear to have their food killed for them? How could they let others skin it for them? 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖
No, when the kings wanted fresh meat, it had to be fresh down to the atom.
Most of the items on the table were still alive.
Indeed they were.
Kael watched their chests rise and fall as they took deep breaths.
They were all unconscious.
Kael saw rhinos that had been beaten and skinned. He saw zebras whose eyes had been dug out and legs had been snapped back to prevent them from running.
Close to Kael’s hands were a pair of eagles, their broken wings spread out as they collapsed on their crippled legs, helpless.
Savage.
Brutal.
The only reason Kael could see fresh bloody meat and dripping blood from the table was that the other participants of this beastly dinner party had started digging in.
Only Kael and the demonic man in tattered clothes had not touched their food.
Kael was silently observing everything and the demonic man was silently observing Kael.
"Apologies, All-King, Jordan can seem quite...weird," A voice came from the spot opposite Kael on the other side of the table.
Kael elevated his gaze slightly, looking past all the fallen powerful beings and the blood to see a slim man.
This man dressed rather elegantly, wearing a blue suit that was ironed out at all the right places. Not a single wrinkle or a spec of blood could be found anywhere on his clothes.
This was the case even though his table was filled with diced up pieces of meat and the area of the table was dripping with blood from his victims.
His hands were bloody, a stark contrast to the elegant and noble poise that he took. Even his back was straight and his neck was aligned perfectly to signal his dominance over himself and his mind.
He looked at Kael over the table. On one of his eyes was a circular and transparent glass object. A golden rimmed monocle with a thin chain extending down to his pocket.
This was the second time Kael was seeing an eyewear on a lion. First was Daniella and her spectacles, the second was this man with his one eye monocle.
Both of them were obviously immortal so it was hard to imagine that they had any trouble with their eyesight. The only explanation was that the glasses and the monocle helped them to see...better.
"Jordan?" Kael raised an eyebrow, still observing this slim and well-dressed noble lion.
With his hands still bloody, the elegant man reached out to grab a weakened squirrel the size of a small dog.
He extended his fingers candidly, revealing his thin and long nails decorated with fine magic runes.
Grabbing the squirrel by the scruff of its neck, he dragged it closer to him, staining its fur with blood.
Kael could sense spirit waves coming from the squirrel. It was fully sentient and still desperately tried to call its master to order.
Alas, all the telepathic messages fell on deaf ears.
The elegant man held the neck of the squirrel with one hand and gently grabbed the head with his other hand.
Without exerting too much strength and ignoring the screams and inhumane cries, the elegant man pulled.
The head of the large squirrel was pulled off cleanly from its neck and shoulders. The tendons and muscle tears could be seen as well a she dangling and bloody vocal cords.
There was a discomforting fart-like sound as the kings of the squirrel forced out all the air through the severed windpipe.
Blood spurted out from the neck, forming a blood fountain that nearly stained the elegant man, not for the soft invisible barrier around him.
Even now as his hands were stained with blood, his blue noble attire was still spotless.
"I assure you, he doesn’t bite. And even if he does, we won’t let him," The elegant man said with a dark smile, throwing a glance at the tattered demonic man who was named Jordan.
Hearing this, Jordan finally turned his head and glanced over the table to look at the elegantly dressed man.
The elegant man acted as if he wasn’t being stared at and brought the bloody neck of the squirrel to his mouth. He opened wide, revealing a thin set of sharp fangs which he used to bite into the neck and tear out pieces of flesh.
Blood flowed into his maw and was swallowed swiftly, the flesh was ground to pulp with a few chewing motions.
"I would never bite him..." Jordan said calmly.
Yet, everyone instinctively knew that that was the biggest lie.
There was no such thing as Never in these cases. Never was too long to promise anything.
"All-King, eat something. When was the last time you filled your belly?" Another man asked from the side.
He sat next to the elegantly dressed man and he too was eating his bloody dinner.
Unlike the rest, this one looked quite calm and gentle. It didn’t appear as if he was trying to hide his true personality or was wearing a mask. This was how he was.
Gentle and naturally inclined to sugarcoat his words.
He had blonde hair, was a bit larger than the elegantly dressed man but not that much.
He reminded Kael of Daniella.
"Oh, I ate the Primordial Horse not long ago," Kael said in the most casual manner he could fake.
The atmosphere of the room seemed to tense up and drop low in a short amount of time. The eyes of the five entities sitting at the table with him lit up.
"Ah, yes," The gentle man said, "We saw that one. We were very excited to see you do that.
But I guess that you haven’t had a quality meal with the stress of dealing with that abomination all by yourself.
Please, have something to eat."
The gentle man extended his hand to the two eagles in front of Kael.
"Hmm," Kael nodded. It’s not like they were trying to command him. He was even pleading like an old grandparent.
Kael’s arms moved. He picked one of the eagles and dragged it closer to him by the wing.
Eagle cries disturbed the peace of the feast, no one paid mind.
"I assume that you all have many questions for me, and I have many questions for you too," Kael said as he waved his hand.
Two small golden swords appeared in his hands. The Law of Swords.
They vibrated fast, shearing off the feather from the left wing of the eagle. After he was done, Kael waved his finger and cut off the wing with one of the swords.
This small exercise of a strange ability they had never seen lions use interested the five lion leaders at the table.
"Indeed, we do have questions for you. But first things first, allow us to introduce ourselves..." Said the gentle-looking man.
