Reincarnated As A Lion In Another World-Chapter 791: Coronation
As soon as Katari’s voice faded, the blue door shimmered out of existence and Olivia walked in.
Just like the other consorts, Olivia didn’t seem to have aged one bit. She was still packing some areas of fat in her cheeks, thighs, and other areas that would make her be considered a little chubby.
She walked into the office, attracting Katari’s full predatory gaze.
Katari noticed that Olivia was wearing a black ceremonial gown befitting a queen in her humanoid form.
Katari’s mind flashed to any occasion that could be special to warrant this dress or check if Olivia was just being funny.
"Katari, aren’t you coming?" Olivia asked as she approached Katari’s desk with a few steps.
"Coming for what?" Katari asked, genuinely confused.
"The coronation," Olivia said with a wet smile. As she suspected, Katari didn’t even know what was going on.
She had been here for days, only coming out when she needed to check some things or make sure everyone was performing their duties before going back.
Olivia didn’t know what Katari was always doing in her office as she never told anyone about it. And whenever someone asked, she just shrugged it off.
At least, that was the best negative answer that one could get from Katari, but it showed that she didn’t really have the luxury of making anyone feel uncomfortable these days.
Hearing Olivia’s words, Katari didn’t even flinch or frown or smile or worry. She just stared into Olivia’s eyes and said.
"Oh,"
Then she brought her head down, picked up her magic pen, and began writing again.
Olivia sighed.
"We all thought you would want to come, the ceremony is starting in an hour. All of Ozia’s vassals have sent their tribute gifts, don’t you want to see the decorations?" Olivia asked.
Katari shook her head, "I’m not coming," she said plainly.
Olivia was stunned by the immediate directness for a while. But then, her stunned expression turned into one of anger.
Katari, who had her head down suddenly noticed the change. Everything felt...off.
Misfortune.
Slowly, Katari dropped her pen and looked up from her paper at Olivia.
"What are you doing Olivia?" Katari asked, narrowing her eyes. She had already calculated how much speed it would take to leave her desk and snatch Olivia by the neck.
Not much.
"You are coming with me to that coronation, whether you like it or not!" Olivia shouted.
Katari sighed, then relaxed into her chair. Something so petty.
Olivia didn’t like the way Katari seemed so nonchalant.
"Listen Katari, I don’t like the way you’re behaving concerning these things.
Yes, we all know that you miss Kael more than anything in the world, we all do. But you seem to be prioritising one thing and forgetting the rest.
N’bayé is not even going to be present for this coronation because she had a valid excuse, even if she didn’t, she may not still come.
All our children look at us, wonder what goes through our heads, and they check if there is more they could learn from us.
But all they see from you who is supposed to be the best of us is coldness and an unwillingness to be approached.
I know our family is not perfect, no one’s family is. But at least you can pretend like you fucking care?
It will go a long way."
Olivia let it all out in one breath. She was tired of the coldness that she and N’bayé were exhibiting.
It wasn’t their fault that they didn’t have the same psychological states as those two. Even Alora, who was almost like that, was not as unemotional as Katari and N’bayé.
Lionesses were supposed to stick together and work together.
Katari went silent. She didn’t have anything to say, but she observed Olivia and weighed her words.
Indeed, the coronation was for Ozia’s son, but even N’bayé was not going to show up.
The least she could do was be present for the first son.
Not because she cared genuinely, but because it would eliminate some future drama.
Finally, after waiting for a full three minutes in silence, Katari responded.
"I’ll be there," she said.
Olivia shook her head, "No, I’m waiting for you.
We leave in ten minutes," She said.
Katari had to look at Olivia carefully after the latter used that commanding tone. If anything, Katari was more impressed than offended.
Katari knew she was scary, she was not oblivious to it. But if the lionesses were bold enough to stand up to her, that was a plus for everyone.
"Okay," Katari said calmly.
She waved her hand, causing her paper to disappear into her pocket space. Then she placed the magic pen on the other side of the desk.
As for why she did not just write these things in her mind or her system note feature, she just wanted a very authentic security.
The system could be hacked, there was still that possibility, and her mind was not impervious to powerful spirit creatures.
Katari didn’t trust herself. But she trusted that anyone would have to crawl limbless and at death’s door over her corpse before they could access that piece of paper.
After everything was set, Katari deleted everything she knew about the paper and only left enough information for her to know that something like that existed with her.
Safety measures.
After that, she stood up from her chair just as her clothes began to dissolve and changed into something else.
Soon, Katari walked up to Olivia, now wearing a long blue dress that covered her decently. Her tail swung to the sides behind her and her ears fell back on top of her head.
"Let’s go," Katari said.
Olivia was now smiling, looking incredibly happy that Katari was finally coming along. She was sure that even Ozia and his son would be surprised to see Katari of all people.
However, just as they were leaving.
