Reincarnated As A Lion In Another World-Chapter 798: Gabriel
Out of all the people who could have been suspected of doing this, this was the last person anyone would have thought of being capable of doing it.
There was betrayal, then there was this.
What was this?
*ROAR!*
A loud roar shook the heavens as a mighty killing intent surged into the sky. A powerful presence came almost instantly, shooting through the sky and piercing into the golden dome of the All-King.
The entity moved way too fast for anyone nearby to have been able to stop it. He headed straight for Kael, his angelic wings and massive claws spread out for a devastating attack that would end the life of the All-King altogether.
The dome, filled with the chaotic laws of the universe, was torn out by the new invader and the surprising traitor.
Now, at the very instant that Kael was at his most vulnerable, under the siege of under fifty laws manifestations and at a time when no one was likely to step forward or get close to him, he became the victim of an assassination.
"Hahaha, motherfucking pussy! You finally showed yourself!"
*BOOM!*
Another loud explosion was set off as a bright red line shot from beyond the observation lake, clashing with the surprise attacker.
The world seemed to lose all its colour for a moment. The owner of the red and blue was strategic, his power enveloped everywhere, minimizing any damage that could have fallen on Kael or his environment.
It didn’t stop a large portion of the Observation Lake from outright evaporating at that moment.
The two beings, red and bright gold, clashed just before the bright gold being could touch Kael.
Enough force was dished out so that both of them were flung out of the golden dome.
When the two beings stopped mid-air, that was when the immortal bystanders could process what had happened.
Even for those who had high thought processing speed, this was too fast for them.
"Your Majesty?!" Daniella exclaimed as she saw the figure clad in golden light after they stopped above the clouds.
"Grandfather?" Anastasia, hovering beside Daniella, frowned.
The being who was clad in that demonic red light was none other than Jordan and the other figure performing the surprise attack was Gabriel.
This was shocking on many levels.
Both of them were in their true lion forms. Jordan was now hovering in the sky, standing on the empty void on his four slim limbs.
He had a bloody red mane around his neck and shoulders, its colour matching the demonic red of his eyes, claws, and the patch of hair at the end of his tail.
For a lion, although Jordan was still large in his true form, he was more on the lean side as he did not boast any particularly eye-catching muscular profiles.
Opposite him was a lion whom everyone had thought of as a saint.
Pure white fur, visibly more bulky than Jordan, a yellowish golden mane, and bright glowing eyes filled with power.
Gabriel was wearing a confused look on his face as he stared at Jordan. This demonic lion in front of him made him rethink everything he was doing today.
"Jordan," Gabriel muttered, realising that his cover may have been blown.
"Shut the fuck up and die for me! Hahaha!"
*BAM!*
Jordan didn’t wait to have any small talk with Gabriel, he rushed his former comrade, slamming into him and flying off into the skies.
What was the point of the chit-chat? Jordan already knew who Gabriel was and had just been waiting for him to show his true colours to be sure.
Gabriel was a traitor.
When Kael had told Jordan that they might have been playing all along, this was what he meant.
It was said that the safest place to keep a treasure was also the most dangerous place.
Everyone had been under the assumption that if the other felines wanted to create an Avatar of Slavery from the lion race, they would keep it captive.
This was also under another assumption that the alleged lion was unwilling to be the Avatar of Slavery.
But what if he was?
This was what Kael had estimated five years ago and warned Jordan about.
And if by now they could not yet find the Avatar despite him walking amongst the rest of the lions, there could only be two explanations.
It was either that the other Felines truly captured the lion against his will, or we’re forcing the fate of a Slavery Avatar on him.
Or...
The Avatar himself was so powerful that no one would suspect him.
The second conclusion was a chilling realization.
The only way for such a traitor to exist without ever being suspected was if they were not only having a reputation of being saintly, but also if they were one of the strongest.
Kael never ever trusted anyone, never. He definitely didn’t trust Gabriel.
Alas, Kael had not been sure if it was Gabriel too as he had suspected multiple people.
Alexander, Phestus, or Azeus could have been in on it but there was no way for them to know.
Kael did not trust Jordan either, but he was willing to bet that Jordan couldn’t be the traitor.
Firstly, Jordan was a demonic lion who despite being a Supreme Level Immortal, had very little control over some of his intrusive thoughts.
Demonic lions were known to be very stiff concerning allegiance. They were not the best allies, but if they were loyal, it would be known.
It was very hard to make them compromise and because of their base nature, it was also very hard to trust them with any acts of treachery.
If a demonic lion or lioness chose to betray someone, they wouldn’t keep it to themselves or wait in silence the way Gabriel had been doing.
They would initiate an attack almost immediately. Keeping treacherous ideas within themselves for so long was just not their style.
If Jordan were the traitor, he would have killed Kael the first time he saw him instead of saving him.
And when Kael had used the Law of Good Luck to seek help, it had brought Jordan, not Gabriel.
With all those factors, Kael believed in the probability that Jordan was truly loyal to the cause.
He told Jordan so that Jordan could be on standby just in case the traitor chose this particular moment to attack.
For any traitor, this was the best time to attack. Gabriel could have swooped in, killed Kael, and dashed out before anyone could say anything.
Even if anyone still said anything, it would be too late. With the Primordial Lion out of the way, the Avatar of Slavery would be free to change the law of the lions to the Law of Slavery under the guidance of the other Felines.
This was a betrayal that would have scarred the whole race for the rest of their existence.
A life of misery as they would only be able to remember their days as actual conquerors.
"What is going on?" Daniella asked as she looked around.
She saw that Anastasia was looking at her with a strange frown. Anastasia’s eyes glowed red as she observed Daniella from head to toe.
"Did you know about this?" Anastasia asked as she inches closer to Daniella. Her voice was deathly low and her body language showed that she would attack at any moment.
Daniella shook her head, "No, no I didn’t," she began to panic. This was very bad, whatever it was that was happening right now, it was very bad.
In front of everyone, Gabriel had tried to kill the All-King.
And Gabriel was the King of the Uriel Clan. Even if the members of the Uriel Clan had nothing to do with this, who would believe them?
"Is this why you became his attendant?" Anastasia asked, narrowing her eyes as she got closer to Daniella.
Daniella started moving away, "I didn’t know anything about this," She replied, visibly worried.
In the background, the golden dome that had been torn by the two supreme-level immortals had already mended itself and the All-King was now fully shrouded in the chaotic powers of the universe.
"What is going on here?" Alexander’s voice thundered in the sky. Three mighty auras descended.
The rest of the supreme kings had arrived.
Still, Anastasia did not take her eyes off Daniella. Now, they were spewing raw killing intent.
It was fascinating how quickly it was for demonic entities to go from friends to foes over the slightest arguments, talk less of a very sensitive topic like betrayal.
Through all this, Kael remained at the center of the massive dome of laws and golden essence. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
He still stood in his link form on top of his simple straw mat that had surprisingly held through all the destruction happening around.
Kael’s head was lowered, his glowing eyes were narrowed and his expression was fierce.
In his vision, the lion system was flashing its screens.
