Reincarnated as a Novel's Villain: Creator of Curses and Blessings-Chapter 40: Obviously, we’d win
She stepped forward once—and in the next instant, vanished from her spot.
In the blink of an eye, Hector saw Kain closing the distance between them at terrifying speed.
The tip of her rapier was aimed straight at Hector’s head with a single intent: to thrust straight through his skull.
Hector flinched. He had barely sensed any movement beforehand from her, but he wasn’t too afraid. He had already prepared for Aharok to use its gravity force to cut her off.
But with an instinctive dance, Kain leaned back in midair, slipping past Aharok’s gravity force from nowhere.
She landed lightly, narrowing her eyes, clearly trying to figure out what bizarre thing had just happened.
Of course, Hector wouldn’t allow her that chance... but even if she knew, it wouldn’t be a big problem. After all, she could do anything with the space hole behind him.
The next moment, Aharok unleashed a storm of constant blows toward Kain. At the same time, Hector launched his first direct clash against her, backed by Aharok’s support.
Kain dodged both Aharok’s and Hector’s strikes, countering with a flurry of thrusts that narrowly pierced through Hector’s defenses.
Each of her assaults and movements was precise and fast—so fast that Hector couldn’t understand how she was capable of it.
Her eyes gleamed with brutality as she relentlessly created a dozen afterimages, evading and distracting Hector.
Indeed, the technique and combat style of one of Violet’s underlings was on a completely different level from the trash Hector had faced before.
Moreover, she had seven mana cores. She could block and deflect Hector’s attacks with ease, without breaking a sweat.
She could have finished Hector off within a few clashes if not for Aharok’s gravity support—and the toughness of the armor Hector had received from Roy.
"You’re a m-monster!" Hector gritted his teeth, desperately evading Kain’s nonstop blows. Even so, most of her attacks were barely kept at bay by Aharok’s gravity force.
[95/100%] → [97/100%]
Hector glanced at the runes above his head in anxiety. Then he let out a deep breath—his backup had finally arrived.
His mission was only to hold her back until they got here.
Several knights rushed in front of him to form a guard. At the same time, a pack of orcs surrounded the area, cutting off every possible escape for Kain.
"I’m almost done..." Hector groaned in exhaustion, dropping down on his butt. It had only been a few minutes against Kain, but to him, it felt like hell.
Even now, under the protection of the knights, his pulse was still racing wildly.
In contrast, Kain felt nothing but deep confusion about what was happening here.
She hadn’t held back at all while fighting Hector. Yet someone with only four mana cores had managed to stall her for several minutes.
From the first exchange, Hector’s swordsmanship had stunned her. How could he wield a blade like that? she wondered.
Perfect movements and slashes—nothing wasted. Moreover, Hector’s technique was difficult to read, more so than any swordsman she had faced in her clan.
He didn’t look like someone who had only trained with a sword for a few recent years, but rather... like a man who had lived with a sword since birth.
If she didn’t have seven mana cores, she was certain the one who would have lost here was her, not him.
"W-Why?"
She completely understood what Hector was thinking... but she still had to kill him, no matter what.
Finally, she decided to retreat to her territory. She needed help from her fellows.
...
Hector grinned when he saw Kain retreat, just as he expected. He then commanded his knights and Orcs to stop pursuing her.
The top priority this time was to upgrade his tower to level 4 and prepare forces to invade Kain’s territory.
30 minutes later.
"Damn it... we’ll win for sure!" Tammy laughed happily while looking at the command Knight, who was giving off mana from a person with 9 green mana cores.
Roy nodded in satisfaction.
Not only that, they even had an aggressive army backing them up.
Hector smirked as he looked at their army.
"Obviously, we’d win."
Then Hector said,
"Now we’re going to the enemy’s territory."
"And you." Hector paused for a moment before turning to Tammy, his voice cold.
"Stay here and protect the tower. Who knows? While we’re heading to the enemy’s lair, they might send someone to destroy our tower."
"Huh? Why me? Why do you guys get to enjoy the victory over there without me, you bastard?!"
But before Tammy could babble any further, Hector had already closed the distance. He grabbed Tammy by the throat, slamming him against the tower wall.
"Did you forget what I said before? You should know your position." Hector frowned in annoyance before tossing Tammy aside.
Tammy clutched his throat in pain, shouting angrily.
" Once I get out of here, my father—"
Bang!
Just like that, Hector delivered punch after punch to Tammy’s face without stopping.
"F-FUCK! HOW DARE—"
Bang!
At some point, Tammy’s face was completely distorted by Hector’s punches.
Hector smirked as he looked down at Tammy’s swollen, bruised face. But he didn’t stop his brutal assault. He grabbed Tammy by the jaw and yanked hard, blood spraying everywhere.
Tammy groaned, trembling, looking up at Hector with tear-filled and hatred eyes. But he could barely speak anymore.
Hector kicked Tammy away, sending him skidding across the ground before crashing into a tree.
"Let’s go."
Soon after, Hector and Roy left the territory, leaving Tammy behind.
After a while, Roy asked,
"Why didn’t you kill him? Why torture him like that? I’m sure he’ll betray us sooner or later."
"I understand how satisfying it is to bully someone, but that’s cheap dopamine... It doesn’t deserve keeping him alive in our team."
Hector nodded in understanding.
"I know that very well. But don’t worry, I did it on purpose," Hector said calmly.
"I told you before, remember? I’ll make use of that trash."
