Reincarnated as a Novel's Villain: Creator of Curses and Blessings-Chapter 56: Alright, let him cook
Within a few days, Hector and Roy recruited soldiers for their special unit.
But actually, very few people wanted to join it.
Only some soldiers—NPCs of the game—were added just for show.
Well, Hector would use them as pawns.
Plus, Hector had already recruited one special person.
He was the best pawn for the special unit’s mission.
Carl Waters.
With the power of seven mana cores, he would be a good pawn.
Hector could recruit protagonist easily; after all, he was already the commander of a special unit.
Moreover, Carl had no choice but to accept the situation. He had committed a sin and become a prisoner of the Lion Legion after causing trouble in the stronghold.
"Sir, thank you for saving me." Carl bowed his head to Hector.
Hector nodded and headed to headquarters.
"There’s no need to thank me. You’ll repay me sooner or later."
The next step was to use an artifact from the stronghold’s arsenal. Under his authority as commander, he took artifacts that could disguise them as demons.
Soon enough, on the next mission, they would head to the demons’ lair, where the tallest mountain stood. They had to sneak through the lair quietly and climb that mountain.
So, what would they do on that mountain?
They would draw a map of every area of the demons’ fortress. With such a tall mountain, they could get a clear view for a future campaign to conquer the last demon fortress.
They only needed to protect the NPC who could draw the map and create a chance for him to reach the mountain.
It sounded quite simple, but it was far too hard to carry out when countless troops were waiting for them.
The last morning, as usual, Hector was doing push-ups and walking.
"Do you even have a plan for this? I don’t think you’d choose it, ’cuz no one wants to risk their life just to earn contribution points." Violet asked with concern.
Hector shrugged.
"Actually, I had no intention of choosing that mission. But luckily, the position you gave me already changed a few things."
That was true. He could access the stronghold’s arsenal. Even though he faced some resistance from other commanders, Violet had used her authority to help him.
They had to risk it to finish the campaign as quickly as possible.
As for Hector, the artifacts and Carl were the core to pulling off this impossible mission.
Violet lingered for a moment before asking. There was a hint of uncertainty in her voice—the question she had wanted to ask for a long time, as a friend.
"I want to know...your idenity"
Hector blinked, then looked at Violet. He gave her a quiet smile and gently held her hand, making her blush slightly.
"I’m the one... you know very well."
It seemed Violet really was curious about Hector’s identity in the real world. After all, with such genius swordsmanship, it was impossible that she didn’t know him at the academy—but how ironic, she knew nothing.
But it wasn’t really essential at this moment.
She would never know who he was, even if he said... just let their vague relationship end when the game was over.
"Goodbye, and remember it... I mean, my previous wish."
Just like that, Hector walked away, leaving Violet spaced out for a while. Indeed, she felt a certain vibe from Hector—the man carried a different feeling from anyone she had met before.
But she quickly frowned when a voice rang out.
"It seems you have a good relationship with him," Molly said, yet his tone carried a bit of jealousy.
"I saw you talk with him for many days before."
Violet’s expression shifted from cold to discomfort.
"It’s none of your business. Moreover, I hate it the most when someone keeps peeking at me and getting in my way."
Molly quickly explained, a little worried. He didn’t expect her to get angry like that.
"I mean, you should focus on the campaign instead of that donkey."
Half a second later, Molly was startled as a chill ran down his spine. He gulped, sensing an invisible suppression pressing on him.
Violet glanced at Molly coldly.
"I have to warn you. Don’t call my friend by that name. And moreover, I know you very well. The trash from the Jenkins Clan is always perverted and treacherous. I once believed one of them, but you know what? He betrayed my heart. I hate them."
She walked closer to Molly and warned him again.
"Don’t think that just because I allow you to be close to me, I’m accepting you. I’m simply too lazy to get rid of the trash you are."
Molly just froze in one spot until the sun rose. Pretty soon, his face twisted in darkness and humiliation.
"Fine... I’m gonna make you always remember my name."
Then, he glanced at Horizontal coldly.
"That donkey doesn’t deserve to live."

Hector and his team began to leave the stronghold at 9 a.m. It took them many days to reach the demon’s city.
An area that was once a human city, until demons invaded it. From what he saw through [Eyes of Predator], plenty of humans were captured in cells like merchandise.
Their plan was to sneak into the city and approach the mountain in the middle of it. After doing that, they would just leave.
Easy?
"We must save them!" Carl gritted his teeth while looking at the city through eyes enhanced by the energy of ancient beasts.
Roy spoke with a warning tone.
"Don’t act recklessly. Our mission here is to draw the map, not save anyone."
Carl’s expression twisted, then he shouted,
"W-What do you mean? How could you be trash like that? They’re our own race."
Roy was about to punch that stupid bastard when Hector spoke up.
"Don’t worry. We’ll do both, but now’s not the right time."
Carl snorted at Roy and turned to Hector, speaking in a polite voice.
"That’s what I expect from a savior. I’ll help you at any cost."
Roy frowned in discomfort, then quickly sighed when he saw Hector’s sly and vicious smile.
"Alright, let him cook."
