Chapter 1353 A Good Constellation

"System, can a Constellation exist that cares about the humans so much that they're willing to die for them?" Ning asked as he had t. <They can, mostly when isolated from other Constellations and Wills.>

"Then… is there a chance that Farhalys is a good Constellation and not one of those rogue ones?" Ning asked.

<There is a very good chance of that being the case>

Ning frowned at the answer. "Then why did you have to find him to kill?" he asked. He started feeling guilty looking at the figure that was on the ground, writhing in pain.

"I'm killing someone innocent, aren't I?" Ning asked.

<So long as who you kill isn't someone with a soul, you are fine>

"But it's still someone innocent," Ning said. "Can you stop the link?" <It is possible. Do you wish to temporarily stop the link?>

"Yes, do so please," Ning quickly replied.

Farhalys slowly stood up, clearly weak and frightened, looking at Ning. He could tell that whatever was being done to him was no longer being done. He stood up on his spindly legs and looked at Ning, wondering what was to happen next.

Ning gave an amicable smile toward the Constellation, but that wasn't going to work. "Hey, I… I'm sorry," Ning said slowly. "I thought you were someone bad and tried to kill you."

"You…" the Constellation could only stare at Ning in horror. "You were the one that sneaked into this ship and tried to kill me. Who are you?"

"I'm… someone who is looking for beings like you to take your energy," Ning said and quickly added, "But only from beings that are misusing their powers. I do not fancy taking the powers of someone who is just doing something good."

"Then you tried to kill me without knowing anything about me?" Farhalys asked. "You don't even know who I am or what I'm doing, and you tried to kill me. How did you even find me? We are flying through the space."

"Well, let's not question that for now," Ning said. "It was a genuine mistake. I would give you back what I took from you, but… I don't think that is within my capabilities."

<You indeed cannot do that>

Farhalys took a moment to look at himself and his powers, and slowly his void-like eyes widened in shock.

"You… You have doomed all the humans on this ship," it said. Ning frowned suddenly. "What do you mean?" he asked.

"This ship was supposed to take them to a place where they could live within the next 6 months, but now because of you, they will all die before they ever reach their destination."

Ning narrowed his eyes, unable to make sense of the situation. "What do you mean? Why would it suddenly take them so much longer to reach their destination?" he asked.

"Because I had created a bubble of slowed time so people inside didn't have to live the entire space journey which would take them over 200 years. Instead, it would only take them 5 years."

"But now, because of whatever you did to me, that is destroyed. And I am also very much too weak to make the time slow by that degree once again," Farhalys said.

Ning took a moment to understand what was going on and realized that he might have indeed caused a bit of a problem on the ship.

"Damn, I'm sorry," he said slowly. "But don't worry, I'll help any way I can. You are relocating these people to another planet? What happened to the first one?"

"The sun grew too big and their planet became too hot for them to live in," the Constellation said. "I found only a small group of the original population still alive and created this giant vehicle to take them away to another planet."

Farhalys' words were filled with genuine anguish over the sense of loss for the people of the ship. He was fully believing that because of Ning, everything he had done to help the people of this ship had been for naught.

He hated Ning for it but also knew that Ning was too strong for him to do anything in retaliation. He felt terrible as such.

'Dammit, system!' Ning complained. 'Why did you have to find such a good constellation as the first one? Did you not put any consideration into finding only the bad ones?'

<No. That was not in the list of criteria you provided>

"Damn you!" Ning grumbled under his breath. "Next time make sure to take these things into account. I don't want to hurt those who aren't doing any harm.

<Understood>

<However, you may want to know that the Constellation before you would have died in just a few more years even without your intervention today>

Ning was taken aback slightly. "Would he? Why?" he asked.

<The other constellations of the Meghilars Galaxy around the Eastern edge where Farhalys comes from have been in the limelight for a while, and Farhalys is being forgotten>

<Without many people to remember it, it would have died soon enough, losing what little power it had gathered>

<While the System is incapable of telling just what would happen, it is highly possible that Farhalys would have died long before reaching the planet they were headed to, and would have left all the humans in this ship to die.>

Ning thought through the problems and realized how bad of a situation this was. "Did you tell me to come here because you knew about this?" he asked the system.

<Farhalys' lacking lifetime was indeed a factor, but not the humans who were with him. That was simply a coincidence.>

"A good coincidence then," Ning said and turned toward the Constellation.

"Farhalys, right?" Ning asked, and the Constellation looked at him with a serious look on his bone face. "I have some bad news for you, and some good news."

The Constellation took a long moment to understand the situation and finally asked. "What is the news?"
