—Side Zephyr—

The location was one square east of Class-51's base.

"«Barrier Blast»!"

"Whooaa! It seems we have a box-user among our opponents!"

"Grrraaahhhh!!"

"Roooaaarrr!!"

"Watch out for bosses too! «Command»!"

"Rgh, I didn't think it would get so hard once the boss also joins in the fray!"

"They're apparently buffed as well-desu!"

"Pamela, let's draw them away!"

"Aye-desu! «Give Me Your Life»!"

"Rooaaarrr!!"

"Huh, w-wait! I am here though, hello!? Don't ignore me and target Rika!"

"Taunt skills are ineffective against them, Pamela, Rika. It's probably the work of that dogkin."

"What?!"

Truly, Rina really had made sure to check out all fronts, huh? Even the placement of people had been exquisite.

At present, «King Dinosaur» and «Battle Wolf (3rd Form)»'s attention were focused on Rika. Rika might have synergy against them, but she also was lacking much experience in dealing with two bosses at once.

Plus, the remaining members were coordinating their attacks to further interrupt her movements. The difference between dealing with one boss versus two was worlds apart.

"Damn, unique skill «Twin Swal—"

"Grrraaaawwwrrr!!"

"Ah!"

"Rika! Are you alright?!"

"«Aura Heal»!"

Rika took to using one of her unique skills against «King D» but was immediately pounced on by «Battle Wolf» via charged attack, and was sent flying. I hurriedly heal her with my skill/

"Yep, you're doing good! —«Merge»!"

"Grraawwrrr!!"

"Rawwrrrr!!"

The dogkin student used another of his skills and had two bosses charge toward Rika.

It was obvious to everyone's eyes. The monsters were under the control of that dogkin. I guess, his job had to be «Leader»—oh wait, he was from Class-51? Then I reckon it had to be its lower tier version «Leader of Pack». A tamer category job, as you could guess.

Among tamer's jobs, «Dogkin» was much better in their job, even capable of controlling the guardian monsters. And when in taming, it was also entirely possible to dispel the aggro and taunt from the controlled monsters, which had been why the two bosses kept their hot trail after Rika.

"«Brave Sword»!"

"Grraawww!?"

"Go-go, Wolfie! «Cure»!"

Soon, even the damage dealt was recovered with skill. Of course, since only a defense monster could provide support to another defense support, the task this time was handled by one of the «Wolf». It licked «King Dino», slowly recovering the HP.

Truly a well-thought plan.

"«Sonic Sword»!"

"Awww!"

Needless to say, my immediate priority was to cut that «Wolf».

"«Pentagram Barrier»!"

"Whoops!"

The supporting member immediately invoked their skill, conjuring five barriers at five different points to surround me between them. I kicked the ground and escaped. Had I delayed, the barriers would have crushed me.

I reckon they'd have a «Marquis» among them, and their job should me «Sheltered Girl», a mage job. She was proving to be quite a nuisance as she kept sealing our movements. Even among personnel, she didn't miss huh.

"Rika, don't try to counterattack. Just play the tank role! And Pamela, you're on a roll once Rika drags them away! But most of all, don't fret. Act as usual, and victory would be in our hands."

"A-Alright."

"Roger-desu!"

"Endure for now, Rika."

It wouldn't have been any trouble had it been «King Dino» alone, but the risk wasn't worth it in the presence of two bosses, so I had Rika hold onto her action for the time being. And to reinstate, the dogkin wasn't an easy opponent, it might end up losing either, or both of our tanks. *But hey, at least we'd a challenge!*

Hmm? What if we lose the game by that reasoning? Obviously not! The victory was something we could still grab easy-peasy. Just dealing with them would require a bit longer time.

I presume Rina must have instructed the base members to interrupt us from focusing on boss monsters. And I must say, it's indeed a bit of pickle. Well, I was not expecting her to miss on that part either way. Speaking of, I did say she was free to use any summon disk, and she made good use of it evidently, but I only knew about «King Absolute». So the «Battle Wolf (3rd Form)»... ah, Celestine's surprise huh?

Hehe, then I must support him. It definitely spices things up!

Anyway, if we wanted to clear away the nuisance first, it seemed we had to bring down that knight girl with a big shield. She must be the tank, I presume? She should be taking a good chunk of time to defeat.

"Roaaarrr!!"

"Secret Technique—«Deflect»!"

"Grraah?!"

"It didn't seem like the moment to go easy-desu, eh? I will help! Unique skill—«Secret Ninja Technique - Clone Arts»!"

"Graawwrrr!!"

Pamela used her diversion skill, conjuring four of her clones, and besieged «Battle Wolf (3rd Form)».

Alright, I guess they should be able to handle the situation here.

"I sense the presence of enemies! There are five of them!"

I was just about to roll on our next action when Pamela suddenly glanced toward east, seemingly reacting to enemies.

Uh-huh, we had been caught up, huh.

"It should be pursuers! Let's switch to 2 squares ahead. It's better to stay out of guardian monsters' range when dealing with them."

"Understood."

"Roger-desu!"

Sure enough, Rina had split their alliance manpower. To be honest, the two boss monsters were such a surprise that I wondered if she was going to skip reinforcement here, and she didn't. She must be trying not to take any risk. And if I was right, our opponent should be *him.*

"I see the enemies from the south! Ah, there's that silver-armored guy with an advanced job who fought Ester among them!"

"Sure enough. We're going to intercept, and take them down here!"

As long as Rina knew I was here, she would've no chance but to dispatch Lambda-kun here on the assumption that he should be able to promptly help Class-12 as well if he won against us.

Well, from his earlier showcase of skills, even if he had targeted Ester instead of me, it wouldn't have been easy for him, moreso with Lana's heal. Not that I would let him surpass me!

"I will deal with that advanced job guy. Rika and Pamela, the followers are for you to take care of."

"Leave it to us."

"Yes, sir!"

With the two max level opponents, I was sure even if they'd double force on their side, they still would fail in taking down these two. I hope they're prepared.

◇◇◇

"—!! There are three shadows coming to intercept us! It's Brave!"

"!!"

The tension ran through Lamda and his team at the report.

The mountain hiding the Class-51's base was already visible within their vision. And on the square beside them was Brave, completely prepared to face them.

Lamda's original strategy included making use of Ekatrina's final trump card, the duo boss monsters. They would've much favourable conditions fighting enemies nearby their Class-51's base.

But it appeared their opponents were a step ahead of them. Given the rule that guardian monsters couldn't act beyond the two squares range, they no longer could use that as a viable plan.

'It seems there really is no shortcut, huh?' Lamda once again affirmed his resolution.

Lamda and other members split and pushed from south and east direction toward Zephyr team in an attempt to corner them toward Class-51.

Lamda's gaze linger at the Brave. It was a face, ever-so confident, he had seen so many times, bringing a wind of renewal in this academy—no, in the world.

Ideally, he would prefer to deal with him shortly, but that was easier said than done. If only they could besiege him together... but the presence of two other opponents wouldn't let it happen. They'd to deal with them separately.

"I need two of you to follow me, to defeat Brave! The remaining two members will prevent the others from aiding him!"

" "Alright." "

His teammates nodded in affirmation.

They could be from a high-ranking class, Class-5, but the gulf was too much to make this not a struggling match.

And as the distance from Brave was merely one square apart, Lamda dashed ahead at the helm, and brought out his big shield in front.

Brave, however, kept his weapon sheathed. Rather he even distanced himself from others, seemingly intent on welcoming him alone.

A moment later, Lamda entered the same square as Brave, but immediately, he was bombarded with a spell.

"«Shine Lightning»!"

Despite the distance, Brave drew his sword at a breakneck speed and swung at him. A barrage of Lightning AoE chased after Lamda in fan-shape.

"Tch, fast! —«Shining Force Shield»!"

Lamda had barely reached out for the handle of his sword when the lightning strike came crashing in his direction. Brave's movements were so clean he didn't realise all that until the spell had been casted.

Fortunately, the distance between them had yet to be completely closed, and thus, before the lightning could strike him, he manifested a huge shield of light. His comrades, assured that he would surely made this decision, had already took shelter behind him.

The plus point about this «Shining Force Shield» was its ability to be casted while in run. Unlike other skills, he wasn't required to pause on his steps, and instead, he could continue to approach his opponent while deflecting incoming spells.

The rest of Lamda's teammate unhesitatingly followed him, completely confident at their leader's unwavering gait.

The area magic struck him directly, diffusing a cloud of fog around in the surrounding, leaving poor visibility. This isn't as strong as pure mage jobs, huh. But this also gave him an idea of Brave's might. If so, it didn't seem impossible—

"—«Thunderbolt»!"

"Arrgh!?"

Just as Lamda assumed he might have it covered, a second magic attack followed within the same moment as the earlier AoE spell's final strike landed, crashing into the conjured light shield and destroying it.

Lamda felt an intense impact on the shield on his left hand. *It had to be a fourth order skill.* He guessed inwardly as he saw his three order skill being destroyed. It appeared there were weights behind the rumours that Brave had ascended to an advanced job.

"—«Sacred Healing»!"

He recovered from the damage by invoking self-healing skill, a fourth order skill. That said, his steps never stopped moving forward. And fortunately, the members behind were unhurt. He steel'd himself to not let the same failure follow.

"Initiating counter-attack! —«Manifest: Sacred Light Sword - Stab»!"

Lamda kept low behind the shield as he moved forward, and launched his offensive skill, materialising a giant sword consisting of two attributes—«Holy» and «Light».

In the corner of his vision, just as he had invoked his skill, Lamda felt like he saw a joyful grin creeping on Brave's face.
