Reincarnated into a Snow Griffin-Chapter 140
The intensity of Ethanβs gaze as he locks on me manages to petrify even the burning pain going up my leg for a brief second, an unblinking wide eyed gaze staring at me for what feels like hours, and I can see his beast roaring inside, clawing its way out to destroy and slash out. ππΏπππ ππππ¨πππ.ππ π
But not against me, no... on the contrary, it is because of me.
So the one to feel the true pressure of his gaze as he slowly turns his eyes towards them is the fox as a shadow darkens his gaze, and once they lock on their prey even I can feel the raw power emanating from them just by being nearby, so much so that the fox visibly shivers and falls behind, pulling his goopy tentacles back as if they were his true tails, jumping back and almost reaching the edge of this rock, going as far as possible.
The fog reacts even more to the force and clashes, seemly excited and moving with speed around us, the beginning of a small storm.
But it would not be the cause of destruction this time.
That is when Ethan, for the first since I met him truly loses it and starts crackling up, losing control and changing forms, the skin peeling off and giving space to the obsidian black underneath, the golden eyes shinning like melted molten gold against the blackening eyes, and the red horns and scales sprout out at the same time that his hairs spikes up and turns completely white.
"Y-you! That appearance, could it be?!" The fox starts stuttering, paw held high in a cowering position and his face even more distorted with a grimace. "You are from the Saguine Demon Clan! You are the Demon Lordβs son!"
I hear Kasumi say, word by word reaching me, but even as they reach me and I think I understood them I still do not process the true meaning behind them, shocked and in pain as I am, and even after such shocking revelation about his lineage Ethan does not react, already so beyond the curve that I am not even sure if he is listening at all.
All I know is, next, with a move of his claws he shatters my barrier without effort and locks eye with his prey, making the fox almost fall to the water while trying to back down as much as possible.
But with a shark smiling showing his long piercing fangs, Ethan bends and, next, he is already up close to the fox and, screaming and howling, the fox is lifted in the air with ease by the bone and goopy tails only to be smashed down on the ground again, over and over and so back to back that not only the fox finds no space and time to react, the ground starts to give in, the rock solid floor cracking and bend into the foxβs head shape, and the already rotting side has even more skin falling off behind scrapped on the floor, the left eye disappearing in the middle of the attack and leaving an entire side of his face barren and with apparent bone, hardly the face you see in something that is still alive.
"Ah! Gah!" He is unable to speak at this point but even then Ethan does not seem fazed and much less ready to stop, and as I and the warrior lady in the barrier watch attentively I can tell Ethan keeps getting bigger, taller, his whip tail longer, and the crimson red horns already curving far above his head.
It is the type of vision that I would expect to see appear a ring of fire and for a pair of leather wings to sprout and would not even be surprised.
And yet the fierce way he handles Kasumi, the rough way he suddenly grabs him by the neck, squishing so tight to the point where I thought it will simply snap it in half and be done with it, but instead, while holding to the fox and having a connection with me, having contact with both tails, he is able to walk along the fog without trouble and he seems to notice that too when he slowly looks up at the strange crumbling like sand body hanging to the side, moving in that direction as he proves that he has not lost all reason yet, his actions deliberate, which makes the use of so much violence while with a somewhat clear mind all the worst.
He managed to stand right in front of the source of this hungry abyss power and yet, even though he has contact with the Fox and the tail with me I can still see the fog prickling at his skin like a bunch of mosquitoes in a hot night, and yet, with an unfazed face he, to my surprise, reaches out and snatches the still beating heart right out from the body open ribcage and pulls out at once without hesitation.
He stares at it for a while, still beating on his palm and dripping crimson red blood all over his fingers and down his arm, only for Ethan, to my utmost surprise, give it a big bite, giving in a crunching sound just like an apple being crushed by his teeth but the similarity ends there as heart shudders in protest before gushing out blood and stopping altogether.
We are left in a state of shock as we watch the scene unfold, staring at it until the first rumble of crumbling stone can be heard, soon followed by a colossal sequel of crashing and falling sounds as the fog starts to dissipate and the power holding this place up together with it.
"The fog, is gone!"
Without its source the fog now, like a normal mist, it only needs a gush of air to dissipate now, and it is not long before we manage to see the ceiling once concealed by the clouds of fog, and as the opening hole up above comes to view, so does the now dissipating ball of fog, the center of gravity and pull of the city up above.
And the one to keep at bay all those crocked and twisted corrupted buildings that, without the support of the fog and the pull of it, were now starting to crumble just on top of our heads!
