Reincarnated into a Snow Griffin-Chapter 146
Master Jiang Min starts walking away but the battle continues and follows us around with Ethan’s advance towards us, and while moving so little and unable to see much I can only catch bits of what is happening, to the trio attacking in synchrony, giving Ethan no space to advance his attacks and no time rest as he proves his title as the best of the best among the martial art cultivators focused on fighting from the Stunning Golden Tiger sect and even though is one against three he does not seem to break a sweat and actually manages to push them back, following our slow advance with it.
However even him, with his crushing fighting experience, has difficulty advancing a line of five cultivators now that the other two join in, one opening up a metal umbrella on top of his head, not in a hurry to fight, but very eager once it starts as from the ends of the umbrella suspended blades drop, and using the round open side as a shield he would then twist the blades in the air to attack, forming a fan of razorblades in the air.
It did not seem effective though, many of these weapons were made by the users themselves, embedded with runes of power and with exclusive shapes, but as much as this may be the first time that these weapons have seen battle, the shear amount of people and unpredictableness is enough to overwhelm anyone.
The last one may prove to be the most normal weapon and, with that, one of the most effective ones, resembling a long spear but ending in scythes with curved edges on both sides, each sharp edge embedded with different runes and gushing fire at one side and electricity from the other.
Using runes directly on the weapon like this and using them as a conduit of different elements will corrode the metal quite quickly, so one can tell that not only they were using the opportunity to test out their newly made weapons, but were serious about confronting Ethan with the loss of their own equipment, all to impress their master I bet.
"How futile."
Such harsh words tunned with a hint of disgust are said only for my ears to hear, almost as if my master is thinking out loud, but one look at Master Jiang Min watching the scene makes me wake up from my stupor situation.
What am I doing?
While Ethan is fighting with all his might, with scratches already bleeding all over his body and face while he tries to push not one, not two, but five cultivators out of his way to reach me, what am I doing but watching like a freaking damsel in distress?
Is not on me to give up, is not on me to not fight back.
This may be a master cultivator we are talking about that managed to take me by surprise and suppress me before I knew it, I may be still hurt and recovering, all the odds may be against us, but I had many been in many situations like this before and I am not about to give up now. 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚
It is just another lion that I have to face, but I am not a weak child anymore.
So as much as he had the surprise upper hand over me, this time master Jiang was the one not expecting me to react, already at ease with his capture, so it is my turn to act.
That’s why I start slowly even though his steps don’t falter and the battle continues, as much in a hurry as we are making him aware of my moves before I have a good grasp of them would be a dead giveaway and the end of any attempt of getting free.
First I try my body, even the slightest movement, going from my legs to my fingers, but that is to no avail once more, my body completely frozen in place minus the parts that would expose his hold of me, like my head and my eyes.
It is a terrifying sensation, but I push the growing feeling back down as I try to focus on something, anything that could help me break his hold of me.
That’s when it hits me, a sparkle fueled by years of study, an in depth consideration of what exactly he was doing and how to stop myself from moving, and as much as I had already felt his energy filling and solidifying my meridians, there is a detail in all of that that I had not considerate in my initial state of shock.
That is, he is forcing my own energy down, but it is not like it does not exist or rather, that my core had been damaged and stopped producing my Chi Energy, on the contrary, it is being pushed down, and like trying to push water down inside a cup the mere strength he has been putting on keeping me at bay is making my own energy push back naturally at the same level of pressure they are put at.
To break free it only needed some incentive to burst all that energy out.
So I wait for the right moment when Ethan manages to get close enough to distract him ever so slightly to burst my energy out and push his one energy out from my meridian, but of course he is much stronger and older than I, reacting quickly and swiftly to push me back down before I could much but shout.
But shout I did.
And that is all I needed.
"Ethan, the talisman!" Is all I say before I feel my master’s grip on me go back stronger than ever and it becomes hard to even breathe as if my body is being pressed down by stone boulders, surrounded by a hand of iron.
But that is enough as I see Ethan recognize my words as his eyes widen, and while dodging another incoming attack and twisting his body around he throws a Fire Ball at one of them who promptly gets out of the way.
What they did not expect is that that Fire Ball is actually aimed at me!
