Chapter 152: Chapter 152

I’ve opened up a door that is bound to never close again.

Three days it took for us to get on the most up north set of mountains the main continent had, and they were three days that we barely left the room, Ethan even brought the food in which would have led us to having a go over the dinner table, or taking the needed shower after that would end up too with him accusing me of teasing him into action, which I would contest even thought it was completely true, with a very heated bath session following, and so forth so on, so into it as we were, almost as if making up for the lost time.

But now that we reached our destination I had muscles aching all over and even discovered new ones after our rough sessions that I did not think existed before, but now made themselves known by hurting and aching all over.

Worst is the smug look on Ethan’s face when he sees me unable to walks straight around, which earned him a few smacks on the shoulder that did little to take that smirk on his lips off.

As we drift closer to our destination we all join up at Lewis private bridge upwards with the huge hot balloons right above our heads as the clouds in front finally start opening up as we descend into and beyond them.

Most who were with us are inside or working or hiding from the ever present cold wind and the raindrops as we cut the clouds, but me, Ethan, Lily and even Lewis stayed, most weaing fur coats, gloves and all sort of accessories while I finally stood at a comfortable temperature at last, my natural coat protecting me from even harsher enviroments.

But even though I was not bothered at all, and actually having my wings and tail out for a change made me feel as comfortable as I could, minus the veil for security reasons after the fiasco with my former master, as I am cozily drinking some warm tea while sitting on the comfy furniture that had been drilled in place so it would not drift with the ship’s movements, Ethan comes from behind me pulling a white cape over my back very packed with fur over the shoulders and matching the black version that is Ethan’s outfit, of course.

"This is unnecessary, I am a creature born on the snow, this weather is quite comfortable for me." I say as he sits beside me, his usually hot hands a tiny little colder, which he soon warms up with a drink of his own as the black fur frames his features nicely.

"But I cannot have that, losing a chance of having us in pairing clothes? Pff, in your dreams." That is what all this is about, isn’t it? He just wanted us dressed in pairs, like always.

I roll my eyes at that as he laughs, glancing at the horizon and already wondering what impressive excuses that father of mine would have up his sleeve for abandoning us to our fate.

I take another sip, the warm gone from my eyes as the clouds part and very high peaks of snowy mountains appeared before us, so high that even the cold lands around it seem warm in comparison to the sharp edges up above.

Still, beyond that it does not seem to have anything noteworthy, in fact it has being a while since we saw any dwellings so up north, but I knew better then to trust only what I see from up above as mountains like this, especially this big, were usually favored by dwarves and dark elves that live in seclusion inside caves.

However the fact that it is so secluded like this raises many question about it, so I turn to the fairy that seems to be deeply bothered by the cold, wearing now new tailored small clothes made of a green blue wool long sleeve hooded cloak with a small cape covering her shoulders, small white flower patterns sewed on it, seemly very warm but not enough for such small sprint creature like her.

I wonder who is the one that made this clothes for her, so many small little details in an already tiny outfit, perhaps she even did it herself? Wouldn’t be a surprise if Lily had such skill since all my fairies friends wear dresses too up in the High Lands and I don’t remember seeing a small clothes stores anywhere... or perhaps I overlooked it, who knows.

The fact is, with her thin wings around her body, small hands cupping a small warm mug, and a buddle of fur around her to give protection, fairies had their own environments and elements as well, and Lily is definitely not a Snow Fairy but a Wind Fairy.

I open my long white wings and cover the table from the cold blasts the best I can, but there is not much I can do to shield her from the cold when we were not only up north but so high in the sky, yet still she seems grateful and shiver a little less with it.

Which leads me to questioning her about the situation further.

"Are you sure he is here? There is nothing but mountains and snow where the eye can reach."

All ears are perched at the conversation that starts in our table, curios too to know how did she find this place in the first place, and what we were about to face as well.

She seems offended at first, having to poke the nest first by saying: "Why? You do not trust this lady?"

"How could I not? You saved my life, you fought against him when no one else did just to aid me."

"You did the same."

"Well, what good did it now." I say, finding odd to have such conversation with someone who was present there as weel, and with someone who lost just as much as I with the lion’s attack.

"We share a common fate, even before that, we are more than friends, we are basically family, and older sister, wouldn’t you mind telling me how did you find out about that father of mine?" I say, poking at her age and pridefulness like the old days, but truly feeling that she is part of the family at this point.

"How dare, call this lady old." She says, but there is no real anger behind her words. "But, well, this lady shall be kind and enlighten you on the subject."

"Because it was your mother, Alinda, who told this lady so."
